And for a rookie QB, think what he has brought to this team:
1. A poise and calmness in the huddle
2. Throws that his predecessors couldn't make
3. A team that believes in him wholeheartedly
4. A self belief in himself that he can win games.
That defense does not restrict Carolina to two FGs in the 4th quarter if the QB was Fitzpatrick.
I think the TOP was even until the end of 3rd quarter. The Bills had the ball only for 3:38 in the 4th quarter and yet the Bills scored a TD and FG whereas the Panthers were relegated to two FGs
I don't think Polian is a lock. He has been out of the game only for a year. They never put Parcells in HOF after his break from the Giants and before joining the Patriots. They want to make sure that these folks are truly retired before they consider them for the hall.
Not true because the prior regimes did not prepare their backups to think about being starters and did not coach them up. They were still back ups on the field. I think that is a key difference between the current staff and prior staff. Gailey did not even attempt to play Jackson or Thigpen in the season final when we were already out of the playoff race. At least he could have seen what they were capable.
And he has already come out and said the same thing. He mentioned that he made the same mistakes that he did in his rookie season. He also mentioned that he needed to trust his OL and be patient and hit the holes.
Baloney. If you don't make the play, you are giving the ball back to Tom Brady close to mid-field. It just takes him a few plays to get the Patriots to FG position to take the lead. You can't simply second guess the coaching decisions.
That is what Hines Ward, Troy Brown give for their young QBs. Sadly Stevie is not even in the same league. Look to see Woods get more passes thrown towards him next week.
That is not what coach Marrone is expecting. He is expecting his team to play at a high level and win games. There is talent on this team and they would need to perform to their expectations. I don't care what Geno Smith does.
I think Sanchez had wonderful post-seasons. He made plays in those post-season games. It was not always the defense. As other posters have suggested, the Jets blew themselves by not re-signing those talented running backs and gave his no WR targets. Sanchez is a system QB and can excel when the support cast is good.
