Or they were overconfident that a 2nd round Rookie QB cannot beat them with the long ball!!

First quarter of the season in the books. Let's review.

They got to win the next three....The game against the Dolphins is critical because it would put us in a 0-3 hole in the division. -
Where did you see EJ falling part in the 2nd half...The Ravens made better adjustments and tightened their defense. EJ made sure to protect the football.
-
Both Geno Smith and EJ Manuel have played exactly 4 games and both their records are 2-2 and yet we are already labeling Smith as an *average QB* ? :wallbash:

The worse ones are like Kevin Kolb, who I believe has made close to 50M, without even having a winning record....I don't have any problem with Flacco getting the big contract. Also, yesterday, Flacco's WRs let him down by popping the ball up for the Bills defenders to get to them and Aaron williams making an unbelievable shoe-string tackle that saved four points - the difference between a win and a loss. +1. And that defense was porous yesterday.

@Browns - Thursday Night Football

The Browns have always played tough against the Bills and I think have a 3-1 record (or something like that in the last four games)...We lost that Snow bowl in Cleveland, the Tre(INT) game where he kept giving the ball to them (including the muffing of punt)... -
+1

Agree. The Ravens made better half-time adjustments than us. We were sloppy with penalties, poor 3rd down conversions (No creativity in this area) and inability to make the clutch plays on offense. The best thing to happen to this team today was their ability to shut the Raven's running game and running the ball ourselves successfully.

Our Depth, or Lack of is a Real Issue
ganesh replied to BuffaloBillsMagic1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The secret in the NFL is still: RUN the football and STOP the Run...And you will win most of the time!! And that is exactly what we did today. -
When they kept showing the replay on Kiko's INT, I thought this crew will overturn that with our wretched luck with all of that. For a change, I think the Refs got all the calls correct (at least the critical ones). I think the OP's premise is that if there is not enough conclusive evidence, the call *must* not be overturned.

Heck...We could be 4-0 or 0-4 the way these games have gone into the 2 minute warning in the 4th quarter. The fact that the Young Bills are in the games in the final minutes of a game is a tribute to this staff. I couldn't imagine Wannested or Edwards being able to run this defense with the type of injuries we have had. Another great thing is that while Pettine brings pressure by blitzing, the majority of the sacks have come from the front seven and not by the defensive backs. I hope they know how to stop the run moving forward.

Chan Gailey is a great offensive mind

Considering the wretched preseason we had, may be the coaching staff is still evaluating what will work. In a game time situation, you can only pick a select # of plays and run it. I actually loved how they ran about 8 times on that penultimate drive before they punted. That was effective running. -
What I did not like: Our punting - A 29 yard punt when the game is on the line .....You are kidding me. Stevie disappeared completely today Our WRs need to tip-toe those catches on the sideline and end zone. The game may not have been this close, if the offense converts those turnovers. TOO Many Penalties on offense All those holding calls were big killers especially in the 4th quarter. The offense needs to help out more for the ROOKIE Qb. EJ continues to make mental mistakes. Hopefully, these are rookie growing pains and that he will learn from each one of them as he goes into the next game. Our Run game was fantastic both on offense and defense. The INTs made were not gimme interceptions; they were far more opportunistic Dareus had a monster game. He stepped up when Williams was getting double-teamed EJ was poised once again. Did not let the INT or Fumble keep him down. The strike to Woods was a beauty. Time of Possession - This was huge. Allowed Defense to be

Official Game Day Thread: Ravens at Bills 9-29-2013
ganesh replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The same goes for them too...They had a drive killed in the end zone...Instead of 7 they had an INT. The game was a seesaw battle of defense...I am glad the Bills were able to run the ball effectively and control the clock....KIKO is a BEAST -
Hackett not giving Manuel "easy throws" a little frustrating

+1...Plus Gailey got THREE years to right this ship...Marrone and Hackett are being judged by their performance in THREE GAMES!! -
I believe Mario, Lawson, Moats, Alonso and Hughes have been our rotational LBs on the field.

EJ vs. Russell Wilson's First 3 NFL Starts
ganesh replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is not true...The 2 pt conversion to Woods for a laser sharp throw in a pretty tight window. -
With the amount of "talented" QBs that pundits are predicting will come out in next years draft, I don't think the Browns are going to need too many picks to get that franchise QB, especially considering that they have a very good shot at finishing in the top 3 in the draft order for next years draft. It would be ironic (like the Bills) for them to give up Richardson and then use that pick to draft a RB!!!

But..But....I thought coach Gailey went after a spectator in training camp when he heckled Trent Edwards!!!! But...But....Weren't every one angry last week for him to put the ball from the Patriots 40 yard line!!! -
How about all the three of them and if Goodwin can come back from his injury and play like he did in Pre-season, the top 4 picks would be excellent. He looks so skinny (like a WR) on TV!
