  1. He will go to Baltimore, where they traded Ngata. Why is that the trade/FA market has plenty of DL, RB, WR, but no OL or TE, two spots that we sorely need upgrades.
  2. and don't forget they have Eric Decker too.
  3. Agreed...Even if it is going to cost them $15M per year in salary. If he doesn't work out, the cap hit is not bad to cut him. And if he does, then the Bills are set for the next decade.
  4. I think one more year. They can Franchise Tag him next year if they chose. It is something like a 20M tag.
  5. +1. In fact they may have even overpaid him.
  6. 20 teams (with Good to Great QBs) know that they have no chance at the playoffs without good QB and they will never trade their starting QB. In Today's NFL there is not a single team with two Good/Great starters. Even NE has an unproven 2nd year QB behind Brady. THe only chance would be trade for other teams garbage QB. You can pick your poison from that list Cleveland - Manziel Oakland - David Carr Buffalo - EJ Manuel Titans - ??? Houston Ryan Fitzpatrick Jacksonville - Bortles (You have to give him time) Tampa Bay - Minnesota - Bridgewater (He showed flashes) NY Jets - Geno Smith You are not going to get Rodgers, Brady, Manning(s), BigBen, Mat Ryan, Rivers, Brees, etc.
  7. Agree. The only thing I did not like was that we gave up our 2nd Rd pick (Kiko), and effectively a Top-10 Pick (Spiller) for a Veteran Running Back. Whaley and Rex want to win now. Kiko became expendable with emergence of Preston Brown. Spiller's injury last year put a lid on this team. Rex is a Run-first guy. I think he got a great player. The Eagles will gain the upper-hand if they can sign Spiller to a moderate FA contract. Spiller could succeed in Kelly's system.
  8. Going by the # of threads on how we don't have a QB, I thought we were going to reach for a QB in Rd 2 no matter what!
  9. How come no one is praising Whaley for having the courtesy to call Spiller and Kiko to let them know of the trade!!!
  10. Not a bad move. Only question would hvae been: Could they have kept Kiko and attempted to sign Murray instead of the trade. I think Spiller hurt their chances last year to get any trade due to his injury. Sometimes we just don't get enough of the breaks.
  11. Kelly would have won a SB with that 2004 team. Elite defense with some great WRs (Both WRs had 1000+ yards) and an average Drew Bledsoe couldn't take us into the playoffs.
  12. Are HS kids opting to play basketball, baseball and soccer rather than football due to injury concerns?
  13. There was rumors that he doesn't want to go through the grueling off season and training camp and don't be surprised if he shows up at someone's roster at the beginning of the season.
  14. The problem is that his agent is going to look out for the best deal for him. Secondly, players are ALWAYS curious to see if they can play for a winner like the Patriots or Steelers etc. I am sure that had a big influence in Byrd choosing New Orleans; NO also pony'ed up the money
  15. Robey is better in the slot.
  16. And that is why Parcells said perfectly...Your record indicates who you are....And the Patriots have 4 SB in a 13 year span.
  17. +1. That game was a reminder of how we fell apart in the 2nd half.
  18. That is not acceptable as that is their full-time job. Do your research and ensure the data is correct. Completely agree. Worth noting two points though in how successful teams have used the cap When you restructure you are also hoping for two things to offset this future debt (to say). 1. The annual increase in the salary cap for the teams keep going up. 2. The player never sees that last year or two of their contract when they can get washed up. The team is then willing to take the cap hit for the upfront bonus. (For example, if Mario's cap was $20M in 2017 and 10M of that was from the upfront bonus and 10M was salary, then by cutting him, the cap hit for the team would still only be $10M). Again I am not advocating this is the right thing to do, but teams have done that.
  19. Who will be throwing the rock @ OBD
  20. Today's loss was on the Seattle's offense. They just did not get it done. They had Lynch and just like the Bills in SB25, they chose not to give the ball to the right guy when it counted.
  21. And his first drive against the Bills (in relief) was phenomenal. He is a rookie QB who was inconsistent.
  22. +1. for son of Bum!
  23. Why is size such an issue. It is the heart that matters. Doug Flutie had it, Russell Wilson has it...Why can't Manziel.
  24. And that has been a problem. Marrone was never able to take criticism from the reporters while he was a HC. It shows a poor maturity level that i would have concerns as a HC. I am sure Johnson looked at Marrone not having a thick skin and would have significant issues with media in NYC which is far more vitriol than the Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse/Toronto media.
