Chargers Release Orlando Franklin
BillsFan17 replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because they needed help on the interior of their line. If Franklin was living up to his contract they either A) Don't have to draft more competent players Or B) Let their drafted players learn a little behind him. Maybe spell him throughout a game to give him a blow here and there. To me Franklin's best football is behind him. -
RD 1, Pick 27: Tre'Davious White (CB) - LSU

We didn't let Gilmore go, Gilmore priced his way out of Buffalo. Corners are getting paid an absurd price, and while I think Gilmore was better than most gave him credit for, but if you think breaking the bank on a CB would have made sense. The Patriots could make that move because they have franchise stability. They have a winning culture with a QB in place. We have to roster build, and to me, I'm taking the technician out of college at a far reduced rate that comes along with a first to help us get our own franchise QB. -
NFL.com - Beane Preaches Open Competition at QB
BillsFan17 replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is not happening with any orginzation that has stability at the position. To me this is yet another indictment on how powers that be see Taylor. Now granted, this might just be talk, and they have said, as of today Taylor would be their starter. However, even on a smaller scale, do you think the Raiders are saying they will have an open comp at QB? Others may have a similar situation, but with their first round QBs and a vet in front. Glennon/Trubisky, Simien/Lynch, Savage/Watson, etc... The same can't be said for Tyrod's comp. -
Carucci says the housecleaning isn't finished

I'm still not to sure why there is still so much hate for Brandon when the Bills are still a marketable team despite 17 years of misery. -
Now that I agree with, the utilization of the arm. I hope, Rudolph continues to develop on those issues. I have seen him throw the ball beyond 20 yards more often than others and wirh great placement. Also have seen very eratic throws and head scratching decisions. Ultimately, his potential makes him one of my favorite QBS in this class. Especially in a way where, if we can't get one of the main guys discussed, he would be a very good secondary option. i.e. if Losman didn't try to drive the ball through a brick wall every throw, he may have been something for us.

If we are talking Mason Rudolph, I have to respectively disagree. Mason has a very legit arm.

Chargers Release Orlando Franklin

I'm all about adding talent. Cream rises to the top and you want to field the best roster possible. That being said, for being picked 81st overall and being 24 when the season starts, Miller's career is going in right direction. Franklin being 29 and coming off of two very poor years. It's not like the Bolts dont need help along the line. -

Why are people so down on Miller? I can think of at least a handful of times Miller was graded out as one of our better players in games. If I recall correctly, Miller had or game where he was our highest rated overall player. All while not having a good tackle next to him. -
Absolutely! Now, I always concede that, we never know what will happen. Guys can have a down year, they could have peaked already, could choose to stay in school, etc... There is also usually a guy who shoots up draft boards that many people weren't discussing before the start of the season. Although, I can't envision that being the case this year, no prospect at QB is sneaking up on Bills fans lol. My list of guy to watch it so dang long lol.

That was very well written. The part of apologizing for bringing embarassment to the Mayfield name. Gives me the idea he gets it. I only bring up height because of how much that does seem to factor into the scouting. I fore one don't care how short or tall you are, if you can play you can play. Sure, I admit I am drooling over the size of the presumed top guys, but ironically we went from a physically imposing Manuel to a short Tyrod. Thank you for your take. I do apprecite what you have to say.

Bills' Rookie Minicamp: May 12-14

If the kid can carve out a role as a STer, no reason to think he can't make the roster. -
I mean, I absolutely loved Mayfield, but then I saw that arrest and thought to my self, are we dealing with a Manziel or a kid making one time mistake? Let's say for arguments sake it is truly an isolated incident, do you think, despite being 6'1" that he'll be in the conversation for top QB taken?

Tyrod will not be handed starting Job

Yet, the franchise shaved years off his deal. That's a fact! -
What about the off field non sense that comes with Mayfield?

Bills Hiring Joe Schoen as Asst. GM

RD 5, Pick 171: Nathan Peterman (QB) - Pitt
BillsFan17 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is the effed up part. While I'm pulling for Peterman, unless he comes in and has a Prescott type rookie year, I'm still drafting a QB. Seeing as how I don't really envision Peterman winning the job. We may actually may not know what he'll truly be in the league. - Tyrod plays well and leads us to the playoffs, we won't see Peterman. - Tyrod plays poorly, we miss the playoffs and we draft a QB in the first round. Granted they could have injuries and other factors that could see Peterman play, but I don't think he wins the #2 job either, so. -
Bills Hiring Joe Schoen as Asst. GM
BillsFan17 replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I honestly feel like, we have been so beaten down for so long that we don't think we deserve success. Literally, every hire and move we make over the years is scrutinized by a small section of the fan base regardless. Its to a point where you draw a line, are you a fan or just an eternal pessimist? Are you a fan or are you going to just troll around cause the bills didn't hire, draft, sign, cut, trade, etc... who you wanted? The best part is, no one really knows how an of these guys Will work out in their roles with Buffalo. They have already written them off. -

They don't utilize the TE they have now and you wanted to draft one in the first round? Where there is far less success for that position being taken in the first. Furthermore, Godwin while a good prospect, you want to act like we didn't draft Zay Jones? A guy by all accounts is a better prospect. I mean, to me, it sounds like you might want to root for Tampa if you find their draft so impressive. Not for nothing, the best of drafts on paper aren't always the best drafts years down the line. For all we know buffalo may or may not have the best draft, but I fully agree with their moves. Mainly because that additional pick in next year's first round. -
I am optimistic, I don't envision the playoffs, but I do think there is a bright AF light at the end of the tunnel. That being said, very few can without without a top tier QB CONSISTENTLY.

Bills' Rookie Minicamp: May 12-14
BillsFan17 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like others covered more recently so... Ravens in 2013- Osemele started at RT, Upshaw started nine games played in all 16 and Justin Tucker was their starting kicker. Packers in 2011-Bulaga started at RT, Zombo started eight games playing in 13, and their punter Masthay. Should I keep going? -
So he's the same size as Vernon for giants, but people are saying he's not the right size for a 43 DE?

Antonio Brown came out of Central Michigan, doesn't really matter to me where you played ball. To dominate the way Zay did, both in the slot and flanked out wide... Not saying there won't be an adjustment period, but that is said for most WRs. Plus, the kid was a second rounder, not like we took him at ten. If the expectations are through the roof, that is a bit silly, especially based on our style of offense. However, where he played ball in college shouldn't be that much of a factor against him. -
Damn fine posting!

I want one clear answer on Friday
BillsFan17 replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So that will help you sleep at night? Why the eff are people so concerned with this? The !@#$ing hot dog vender can pick the final 53 as long as they are winning and putting a quality product on the field. Moreover, they can tell you what ever they want. Doesn't mean that's what they will adhear to behind closed doors.
