That opinion is supported by the stats. Rory fits in somewhere between 11 and 20 based on tour wins and major victories. With a couple more wins he could move up closer to 10. I think everyone in this thread sees Rory pretty similarly in terms of where he belongs on the all time list.

Only 6 guys have ever done it. Being the worst of those still lands you easily among the all time greats. Rory is tied for 15th in all time major wins and 18th in career PGA wins with plenty of runway left. These rankings includes a few Scots who racked up Open wins before WWI. I don't think anyone puts him on the same level as Jack and Tiger but he's well ahead of Spieth, JT, Morikawa, Xander.

Whaley was a lame duck GM who had zero authority in that draft. He was following orders, specifically to defer the QB decision and let the incoming GM pick his own guy in the next draft.

I didn't think anyone would even come close to the goal record ever. Gretzky, and the other greats of the time, put up huge numbers in the expansion era during the 80s when scoring was at an all time high. Goals are harder to come by in the modern league but I guess Ovi was fortunate that he missed the clutch and grab era, not that he wouldn't have been dominant in the "dead puck" years. The longevity and sustained production that was required to break the record is really the most impressive part. Ovi is pushing 40 and there has been almost no drop off in his stats over the last 10 years. Gretzky fell off a cliff in his twilight years as back injuries and age caught up with him.

Recently did this as well. From Season 4 on its about getting to the finish. There was far less enjoyment and a lot more groaning about decisions made down the stretch.

I think Shedeur is reason enough to stay away from Shedeur. I see a spoiled brat with zero leadership qualities and no accountability. Stranger things have happened, but I will be absolutely shocked if this kid demonstrates any ability to mature or handle the adversity that is coming at the next level. "Look at my watch" is not going to earn the respect of an NFL locker room. But it will be a pretty funny sack dance and one I expect to see early and often.

Mercifully, Ovi scored on the first PP opportunity, broke the record, and spared me from having to watch 60 minutes of the Islanders. I did not think that record would ever all in this era of hockey. Its an incredible achievement. He's not the same player he once was but there has been minimal decline in his production over the past 10 years whereas Gretzky's numbers fell off a cliff late in his career. Remarkable durability. Ovi could realistically net 1,000 career goals but I believe he finishes his career in Russia after this contract is up.

I will admit, neither his defensive or offensive prowess really jumps out at me as a casual observer. I know he's a gifted playmaker and has incredible hockey sense but I thought his physical development mitigated much of his talent and did not at all appreciate how impactful his play has been. Especially as he has played mostly with 3rd line talent.
