Beane's biggest weakness has been the resources deployed to the D line which remains a weakness. Groot and Oliver were first round picks and both have been good but far from difference makers. The Miller signing was a bust. Injury related, but a bust nonetheless. We drafted AJE and Basham with second round picks and the return was a depth player and a guy who is nearly out of the league. Star was signed to a big contract in FA and his play remained a subject of hot debate on this board. So many free agent signings were completely lackluster from Poona, to Settle, Jefferson, Vernon Butler. Addison, floyd, and DaQuan were nice signings that panned out however briefly.
