You didn't notice a conflict? Not even a little one?
-
The first period was well played and so was much of the second. You could see the tide slowly turning later in the second and into the third period where the Devils started controlling the play and the Sabres couldn't generate any sustained pressure or possession. I'll take the point though. Lets see how they look against the defending champs tonight after some needed rest.

They ran out of gas halfway through the second. Skinner's lazy looping BS is 100% responsible for that OT goal. OT is all about man on man. He should never see the ice in OT. Dahlin had an incredible chance to end it in OT. If he finds his scoring touch he could be dangerous.

I have seen the 80s version which, although difficult to watch, really helped my understanding of the story while watching the remake. I thought the remake was amazing. Bummed to see its still a question as to whether Part 2 will be made and when.

Anybody Have Oddball Food and/or Condiment Pairings?
Jauronimo replied to Irv's topic in Off the Wall
That really isn't unusual. My 7 year old niece eats ketchup on everything too. -
I am fairly certain most cheap thai takeout places are using Mae Ploy or Maesri brand curry pastes. The ingredients to make real thai curry pastes can be hard to find unless you're in a city with a large southeast asian population and its also a laborious process to make it from scratch in any scale.

One thing that gives me hope is that these past 3 wins they have looked like the better team and flat out dominated in 2 of 3. That crazy run they went on 3 years ago they were almost always outshot, out chanced, out played but had some lucky breaks with games regularly coming down to OT and Shootout. It was fun but I think we all knew that it was not sustainable. Winning 5 v 5 is sustainable but we will see how they fare once teams settle in and we face more talented opponents.

The fade is the worst play ever conceived.

They played three teams that aren't winning. Its hard to say who is good and who sucks the first 20 games. 3 years ago the Sabres were leading the NHL in points and St Louis was in last place around the 25 game mark. We were all having a nice laugh at that loser ROR for jumping ship just before the big leap... Its a long season.

Because they outgained the Titans, ran way more plays, way more first downs. I don't think the Titans offense was ever in rhythm and was living and dying on 3rd and long. The Titans benefited immensely from a short field. They certainly benefited the most from penalty calls and no calls. I'm not so sure being more aggressive was the answer. I think the defense would have benefited more from not blitzing Milano and leaving two LBs in coverage to take away the middle of the field on 3rd and long in the second half. None of the blitzes got home and Tannehill-Brown converted time and time again.

Questions to ponder during the bye week
Jauronimo replied to FilthyBeast's topic in The Stadium Wall
We stopped Big Ben all day. He was 18/32 for 188 and 1 TD. Tannehill was 18/29 for 215, 0 TDs, and an INT. -

We have outplayed all 6 opponents. Red zone efficiency is the difference in our 2 losses. Also, Buffalo is now 0-2 when not winning the turnover battle. Last night it was 1 each. -
Are we getting spoiled by how good Allen is?

Are you crediting Allen for the Titans first TD after the INT? Buffalo only scored 3 TDs. -
Insane Investment Into the Dline Paying Off
Jauronimo replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall
They were healthy scratches like Basham has been for most of the season and AJ was for much of last season. McD and Frazier decided to roll with Harrison Philips in the lineup for more size. Real difference makers don't find themselves on the Inactive list because of matchups. -

How are you feeling about that rotation this morning? -
Red zone efficiency https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct Bills were 2-5, Titans were 3-3. That was the difference in the game. Buffalo gave up 1 big play and otherwise dominated Tennessee in every statistical category. Looking at the boxscore its amazing they lost.

Should NFL refs start being suspended for idiotic calls?
Jauronimo replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's where I'm at with it. On top of a massive rule book and calls with extreme subjectivity, you also have the competition committee changing the rules or advising on how things need to be called differently every year. These guys may suck as all fans seem to agree and yet they're the best in the world at officiating football games. -
Yup. Hot starts have been a Sabres tradition during this era of suckitude. I think the only thing we can go on is the style of play is different. The pressure they're generating on the forecheck, the puck movement with these short passes (looks like they're effectively trying to create mini 2 on 1s all over the ice), the odd man rushes being generated, the fast transition game, and crashing the net for rebounds all stand out to me as major positives and distinct changes in philosophy as compared to Kruger's team.

What would watching 2 hockey games tell us about Adams qualifications as a GM that we don't already know?
