  1. I wonder if we're going to get a thread like this for J.P. Losman.
  2. That's why I initially listed his salary for the next 3 years, and was mocking their cap trouble. Doc asked what was guaranteed, as if to hypothetically ask what they are on the hook for if it doesn't work out. I was just pointing out that they are on the hook for a lot for than $5 mil - meaning the 2 draft picks (if Palmer doesn't work out).
  3. They definitely didn't want to trade 2 high draft picks for a 1.5 year QB.
  4. So Palmer took a pay cut to $2.5 mil this year in order to fit under the Raiders salary cap. Here's his salary for the next 3 years: 2012 12.5 mil 2013 13.5 mil 2014 15 mil So with the current team the Raiders have on the field right now, they are already $10 mil over the salary cap next year. Hey Raider Nation, look on the bright side, at least you don't have to worry about signing any draft picks!
  5. Campbell is a free agent after the season, so they will get nothing.
  6. There's 20 million reasons. That's the amount of direct revenue the Bills bring to NY state each year. Why is this so hard to understand?
  7. Collins just said they ran a study and the Bills generate $20 mil a year in direct revenues for the state. $100 million in upgrades for a 10 year lease is a bargain. When people start complaining about this, it honestly makes me wonder why Wilson keeps the team here after all. $100 mil? There's a group on the west coast that would throw a $1 billion dollar stadium at the team.
  8. Only the top 4 or 5 picks command that salary with the current rookie scale wage. Middle first round picks get around $2 mil a year. Actually, due to the new wage scale, first round picks have never before been this valuable. It's funny when people cherrypick terrible Bills 1st rounders (Mike Williams, Erik Flowers, John McCargo) then argue that by ditching a #1 pick a team "loses nothing". Hey, I can cherrypick too, how about Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor, Bruce Smith, Peyton Manning, Barry Sanders, and Jim Brown? Bunch of busts, huh? It's been over 15 years since free agency was reworked, and nearly every GM in the league has figured out (it took some longer then others) how valuable draft picks are in order to sustain a winning team. Most analysts and a few GM's had Palmer going for a 3rd round pick - maybe, maybe a 2nd rounder. Raiders panicked and got fleeced.
  9. "The injury is so severe, trainers had previously cut out holes in the back of Williams’ cleats to alleviate the pressure." WTF does he have??
  10. lol absolutely, just like 2 games. They already have a pretty good defense, a stud #1 receiver (who's a bit crazy), a promising rookie power running back, and a franchise left tackle. God, Luck would fit perfectly with that team - this cannot happen.
  11. They're not that bad - they actually outgained the Jets in yardage. With a competent QB, that would have been a close game. They probably have a better D than us as well so...yeah.
  12. Carson Palmer was a franchise QB in 2005, back then it would have been a good trade. But two 1st rounders for a guy who will be 32 this year with a surgically repaired knee and elbow problems?
  13. What an amazing deal for the Bengals. They already have a top 5 defense with an upcoming QB/WR tandem, plus now they have six picks in the first 2 rounds of the next 2 years. Wow.
  14. Ok maybe terrible is too much. How about far below his own standards. I really haven't seen him do anything this year, hope he heals up fast.
  15. In fairness, Kyle has been terrible this year (though we now know he has been injured). Also last year, Pro Football Focus absolutely loved Kyle and gushed about him weekly (deservedly). Their stats are fairly accurate for assessing individual performances.
  16. We haven't had a pass rush since Schoebel retired. A pass rush can do wonders.
  17. Any passing play is dangerous when you underthrow the receiver by 5 yards. That was a horribly inaccurate pass by Fitz. And lol at the people who think you can run 4+ minutes and 2 timeouts off the clock from the 25. C'mon man.
  18. This thread just motivated me to call T-W. My bill has been creeping up over the past two years and it's now over the $140 mark. After talking with one rep for 10 min, he transferred me over to a "specialist" and he was able to knock $35/month off for a year. So that will save me $380 this year and by then hopefully FiOS comes to my street.
  19. Look, I don't hate the guy, I'm just calling it as I see it. One good year out of eight. 30 years old. Contract year. Those are facts. And I have actually seen him play, in 3 games last year - vs San Diego, Baltimore and Indy. In each of those games he looked good, but piled up most of his yards underneath, against soft prevent defenses late in the game. He does have great hands, and he will make highlight reel catches. I also think the era of six-foot 180lb #1 and #2 receivers is long over.
  20. Yeah I saw what he did in 2009 with Orton, which was sit the bench because Jabar Gaffney outplayed him. This is a guy who got flat out CUT in Washington because he was terrible. They even had to eat $5.5 million and they still cut him lol. The bottom line is that this guy is not that talented, and accumulated many of his yards last year in garbage time when the Broncos were getting blown out. I don't think it's insane to want someone better than Naaman Roosevelt (who looked good last game). But those that want to sign him to a long term deal or give up a draft pick for him are nuts.
  21. He's a known complainer on the wrong side of 30 that only has had one good season in his eight years as a pro and his contract is up. The only reason he wants out of Denver is he wants to pad his stats to try and swindle someone out of a fat contract. Are some of you insane?
