  1. I thought this thread was going to be about Lee Evans
  2. It's much better for ratings to become a bottom-of-the-barrel contrarion (i.e. Skip Bayless) than it is to provide an accurate analysis. It's unfortunate, but we reward the "look at me" media by not looking away.
  3. If by average you mean arguably the top FS in the league and the best FS we have had in the history of our franchise, then yeah, average.
  4. Cut this scrub already.
  5. Yeah but which one gets named Superbowl MVP? This truly is the best time of the year for Bills fans
  6. I remember them getting revenge and beating us in the playoffs 20-14. Fergy played on a busted ankle, and Fouts beat us late in the game with a bomb. I seem to remember Muncie fumbling at some point.
  7. This signing has Whaley written all over it.
  8. Wow I think that thing looks laughably hideous!! It looks like a combination of an air-craft hangar and a church! That has to be just a concept, right?
  9. Who's nuts, the woman who takes advantage of advancing medical technology, or the millions of people who go to psychics to get told what they want to hear? Yeah... listening to doctors is crazy!
  10. Duly noted. We can revisit this in a few weeks, as Byrd probably won't be showing up for OTAs (rightfully so) and eventually the News will run a column pointing this fact out, which should send a large portion of the fanbase into meltdown mode.
  11. I guess it depends how intriguing. James Hardy level? Ultimately you have to trust the coach and his coordinators, it's hard for fans to gauge rookies in their 1st camp. But if Smith beats out that rookie in camp and earns a spot over him, so be it.
  12. Well, if you're trying to say his production over the last 3 years isn't worth what we're paying him, you'll get no argument out of me. The question is, was it his fault or was he used incorrectly? I think it's a combination of both, and I think a new offensive-minded coach like Marrone who wants to feature an up-tempo west coast offense has to be intrigued. Like others in the thread have said, we aren't desperate to create cap space this year.
  13. ...and we hit both with the franchise tag! Right?
  14. That WGR figure of $3.75M is correct, but it includes bonuses already paid. If we cut him today, we only save $2.75M this year. Here's a few sources more authoritative than our local reporters. Link1 Link 2
  15. 15-11-5. Over 82 games that equates to about 92 points, which would typically get us into the playoffs as an 8th seed. So actually, the guy did a pretty good job considering the situation he was handed. I have no problem giving the guy a shot, but like most my beef is with Regier.
  16. Wow, if that's the case count me in as well!
  17. For discussion purposes, here are the photos.
  18. The actual cap savings number is $2.75M. Brad Smith isn't going anywhere. Just because Gailey misused him doesn't mean he's getting cut. I do think Lindell is gone unless this new kicker absolutely falls on his face. I loved Lindell, but he just can't hit the long ones anymore nor reach the endzone, and there's no way I want to carry 2 kickers again.
  19. Hey, at least you can't accuse them of picking a fan favorite just to sell seats...
  20. You're right about everything except the date, it's July 15th. Of course he won't show up - he doesn't have a contract, that would be crazy. What if he sustained a freak injury like an achilles pop? How many people here would risk something like that? Buffalo News is just terrible with contract information, it's a five year deal. But yeah, it's still screwing this negotiation up.
  21. It's worth noting that today's NFL is very different from that era. Testing is much more frequent now and Goodell will suspend players at the drop of a hat. We just seen 2nd-year WR Blackmon lose 25% of his season. Also I don't think the only issue here is him smoking weed. He was also arrested in a bar fight and he's got some serious character issues. Here's a quote from an August 2012 article from CBSSports.com: This is going to be a great litmus test for our new coaching staff, and I'm very curious to see how it will play out.
  22. That's a good article, it would appear that he can flourish in both schemes. PFT says we never made him an offer. NFL.com says his stock dropped with us after the draft. It's difficult to read our FO in this case, we definitely need another ILB.
  23. Earlier in this thread someone said that they didn't think Dansby would be a 3-down LB with us, and that could be the case. If he wasn't going to be a 3-down player with us, I could see a huge gap between our offer and his asking price. Also Shepp stunk as the MIKE in a 4-3 so he couldn't even do that very well.
