  1. He's an oft-injured zone blocking T that struggled when placed in a traditional blocking scheme (like ours). Pass.
  2. How is the HD quality? I'm assuming its 720. What about the stream? Any latency or stuttering when switching through games? I like to switch channels like a maniac - will each have to buffer? Edit: Questions are about the Direct TV $350 service, not the other thing.
  3. The Pack went with youth (Hawk) over an injured vet that hit their cap too hard. First I heard about this, from a poster on this forum. He's not competing with Torbor, the $16M says the job is his. I think it's safe to say nobody on this board thinks he's Patrick Willis.
  4. So, you're whining about how we haven't improved this team, and at the same time ridiculing others for whining about how we never improve this team. That's impressive for one post. Look, last year we were transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4. That's extremely difficult to do, even for teams loaded with talent. Compound that with the slew of injuries we had on D and it was a disaster. A year under our belt will make a difference, whether you admit it or not. The fact that we replaced Stroud with Dareus can't be stressed enough. If Merriman can stay on the field, he will be better than the revolving door we had last year at OLB. The only thing Poz has over Barnett is his youth and about $28M dollars. Barnett is far superior in coverage than Poz ever was (you own a Poz jersey I take it?) Bringing Wannestedt in as asst D coach is another plus. Whitner may very well be addition by subtraction. Comparing our moves to the Eagles is silly as they are already a playoff team poised to take their shot at the title. And I seem to recall the IMPROVED Lions still losing to Bills last year.
  5. No, Green Bay would have kept him if he wasn't a $6M cap hit this year.
  6. 1) If it was tweeted that Gaither was in Buffalo talking to the Bills 90% of the posters here would do a complete 180 and claim him to be the second coming. "Back injuries aren't so bad, he could just take a lot of Advil, right?" 2) Gaither wants to play LT. Why? Probably because they make more money. He started his career at LT until he got blindsided by Oher (see that?). It looks like he's been grumbling about RT ever since and won't sign with a team that wants him to play RT unless they break the bank.
  7. Of which he got $6M guaranteed. And guarantees are tied to the length and amount of the contract. A 5 yr $20M+ contract would warrant a guarantee of $9M+, which is what makes this a great deal (if he stays healthy).
  8. 3yrs $12M is a really fair price, I never thought he would sign for less than 4-5 years. If he can stay healthy, it's a great deal.
  9. I just assumed it was obvious he was going to be our #3 QB per the new CB rules.
  10. Nothing about pro bowls sounds like Poz lol
  11. Damn . Well that officially makes Barnett the best ILB available.
  12. I definitely don't think he's washed up, I'd much rather have him than other ILBs that have been tossed to the scrap heap i.e. Morrison & Crowder. I just think they have to be careful here with how much they give him, and I think it's highly doubtful he signs for under 4 years.
  13. He's 30 and wasn't able to finish 2 out of the last 3 seasons due to injuries (ACL, wrist). I don't want to start this season with Torbor, bur I don't want to finish it with him either. I'd be really scared signing him to a 5-yr deal, and I'm certain that's what he wants at his age.
  14. Wow, Tulloch must be asking for a fortune or maybe they just got sick of dealing with Rosenhaus. Get after Tulloch!
  15. I was hoping for Tulloch but Burnett will do nicely. He's a solid tackler and looks comfortable working in space. He's got problems in coverage but he's no worse than Poz in that area. I'd guess 5 years $25M with $10M guaranteed gets him here.
  16. Oh please quit with the tax nonsense. GA tax rate is 6%, a 2.75% difference from Erie County. A $600,000 home in Orchard Park would cost $1.5-$2M in Atlanta.
  17. After reading that article I don't think he was moving for any amount.
  18. Donte Whitner 6 years at $50M should do it. Then everyone will be happy right?
  19. There's a moral to be learned from all this. The site/blog looked incredibly cheesy, and had a .BIZ domain. We all know agents love to salt the media with misinformation advantageous to their client. One fishy story and the entire message board community was married to Clabo, and tweeting all the ESPN talking heads for info on the deal. Next thing the ESPN braintrust is tweeting back that the source appears to be "murky" but the Bills are the leading contender for Clabo. All nonsense with no clear source.
  20. Yes, you are missing the actual verified amount we offered him. I would take a wild guess and say we offered him about $30M over 5 years. He probably chose to stay in a town where his wife and kids are settled and play for a playoff team rather than come to Buffalo. If he signed for that low, it's pretty evident he wasn't leaving regardless and was just using us for leverage. It happens.
  21. It's not right, some idiot in this thread plucked that number out of his head.
  22. Sure a good TE would help, not arguing that. Tony G caught 90 passes for 1,000 yards pretty much every year for his entire career and is a HOF TE. Zach Miller is not Tony G.
