Aside from that Bills game, there's been a lot of great games so far. Jacksonville almost upsetting Green Bay, the Raiders going for 2 to win it instead of forcing overtime, Fitz throwing his patented 4th quarter pick (okay, Marshall should have caught that pass 2 plays earlier).

At least we got rid of the pre-season Kool-Aid.

Probably win their division. If it's their 3rd year in the league and they do it against Jacksonville, then yes. If it's their very first game against a team that just went to the Superbowl, then no.

Cam took a serious beating tonight, he took about a half-dozen shots to the head. That last one by Stewart was brutal and he'll be getting a letter in his locker next week from the commish. Really surprised they didn't check him into concussion protocol after that.

Great game. Really impressed with Siemian. Had two rookie mistakes, but excellent feet in the pocket and a snap release. Denver D is still suffocating opponents.

Football season is finally here!

Well, you were certainly in the vocal minority then. I did an experiment and searched through the archives to see if my memory was playing tricks on me, and let's just say that the board was still very pro-Mario at the end of October (a few started to question his production). An entertaining read to say the least. I won't argue the lack of effort -- it clearly wasn't there at times, and he is on the wrong side of 30, but in the end it was the misuse of a dominant pass-rusher. I also don't think you can quantify a DE's play using tackle numbers (I've never seen it), even in a scheme that preaches gap responsibility.

I'd like to know where all this vitriol towards Mario was when the the season was going on. You know, when they were actually playing. I certainly didn't see it on these boards in September and October. You would think 8 games would be enough to see that a player quit on his team, right? I recall people still discussing restructuring his contract as late as November. When it became apparent the season was over in December and Mario wasn't coming back -- that's when the pitchforks came out. Mario has taken plays off his entire career, we all knew that. It all came to a head when Pete Prisco released an article showing all the plays he took off, that whipped the board "analysts" into the quitter rant. He's played 10 seasons, under 7 different defensive coordinators, and he's flourished under all of them except for 1. You don't need to be a math major to figure out what's the constant and the variable in that equation.

You're not under the illusion that these BN predictions will effect the play on the field, are you? I mean, for a lot of posters here, that would explain a lot.

The Buffalo News is a subscription-based website, it's a completely different business model than say, Bleacher Report. No, every sports reporter at TBN is not making inflammatory predictions "for clicks." Just one is.
