  1. Why? Marrone could have used them at the same positions. I completely disagree with you.
  2. I don't disagree that that happened, and contributed...but the line personnel was very similar: 2012 Starting OL: LT - CORDY GLENN - 13 GS LG - ANDY LEVITRE - 16 GS C - ERIC WOOD - 14 GS RG - KRAIG URBIK - 13 GS RT - CHRIS HAIRSTON - 8 GS RT - ERIC PEARS - 7 GS
  3. Amazing. Why? In the red zone he can't line up in the slot? They can't figure out a formation to put him on the field? Woods can't line up in the slot in the red zone? Seriously? Come on.
  4. I never said that. I just think you're way off base in accepting whatever the Buffalo Bills front office tells you. There's a need for secrecy, no doubt. They don't have to tell us everything, for sure. The problem, is I have no reason to believe they've actually adopted any new system. If Russ is no longer running the football operations, for example, then why did they say he will help with reviewing the coaching staff? If EJ was the franchise quarterback going into the season, why can't they admit that he is or isn't based on just 4 games starting? There's just so many question marks year after year. It's getting annoying, and I think we're all justified in being frustrated and question them again and again until they actually prove they know what they're doing.
  5. Then why did they announce they had a shiny new analytics department? Do you know what's not a conspiracy? 15 straight seasons without a playoff appearance. Maybe a lot of people rightfully think they're inept.
  6. The only things I took from this press conference: 1. Whaley needs to take some public speaking courses, ASAP. Need to be a more confident person vocally, as he is in a leadership role. I don't think this is insignificant. 2. Whaley would not call EJ the franchise QB, so I'd expect that they're going to have to find one or face a lot of scrutiny. Kirk Cousins, for example, won't cut it. 3. The journalists have consistently dropped the ball in asking the right questions about Mike Williams. If we're to believe that the reason he didn't play was because his position (can't play slot apparently?), then how come other coaches have no problem utilizing special formations to target their talented players? 4. Marrone seemed to truly not understand what it takes for CJ Spiller to be effective. When prompted about Chan's offense, he claims he's studied it. Something is wrong then.
  7. I disagree. I think he did struggle with accuracy, but he certainly hit receivers in stride no less than Kyle Orton.
  8. What about this: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2014092500/2014/REG4/giants@redskins#menu=gameinfo%7CcontentId%3A0ap3000000404127&tab=recap
  9. We're not allowed to say that EJ Manuel beat Jay Cutler? I mean... seriously? Yeah it's a team sport, 100% but there are a bunch of ways to quantify wins.
  10. Yes, but what FA QB do you want? We might need to trade to get a good QB, and then they wouldn't really have a say.
  11. Eh, the problem is...we still didn't make the playoffs. If EJ gave it a go and still didn't make the playoffs we would at least maybe know what we had there. I think that's the resounding point. Orton blew it in Week 16. That's commendable, I guess...but now we don't know what we have.
  12. I am with you. I feel like the tone of the thread is having EJ hop in to action following the KC and MIA games.
  13. Mostly sucks.
  14. Umm...provided he doesn't get hurt, if we get Sam Bradford it wouldn't be a stop-gap type thing.
  15. To be fair, Geno has played a lot, lot worse than EJ.
  16. How cheap? I definitely would support this move, but I'm guessing it would cost a lot. Even though he's been oft injured, he was a 1st overall pick and hasn't really played that poorly despite a consistently awful team.
  17. Look, I'm sorry that you'll have to change your avatar, but Orton retired. He wasn't good enough to make the playoffs. He had a good look at it, and didn't do enough to win the KC, MIA, or OAK games. You can continue your hindsight crusade, but I won't see it, since I'm blocking you.
  18. No, I'm not mathematically challenged. My point is, given the Oakland game, what makes you so certain he was going to win the Houston game? How do you not see the hypocrisy in your argument?
  19. What about the Oakland game?
  20. Because that win basically inflated Orton. If EJ's biggest issue was confidence, this would have the perfect time to do it. Either way, it's an irrelevant argument since we didn't do this.
  21. EJ only lost two games. The highest we could have won would have been 11. You think Orton is going to sweep the Chargers, texans games? Fine. Orton lost to Oakland, you know that right?
  22. I was certainly quietly saying this though, when it happened. Those were crushing defeats. The playoffs seemed unlikely at that point, and we had the Jets up next with an opportunity to get an "easy' win. It would have been a great opportunity to see what you have there in EJ. Orton did not trend upwards after the bye.
  23. It would be a very hard sell, based on his poor performance, and the fact that he lost at home to EJ Manuel.
