  1. I am accepting the fact that he will return. As many times as I shouted that he must go this season, I think I always had an inkling that as long as we finish 8-8 or better, we'll retain everyone. Let's face it...Terry is going to blow it up, or he's going to let Russ Brandon/Doug Whaley/Doug Marrone figure it out for one more year. If he let's them have the keys to the car for another season, they're not firing anyone.
  2. Really couldn't care. They could have Reich and it wouldn't upset me. Until they get a QB they will be as bad or worse than us.
  3. Joe B doesn't actually know his role. As an insider/beat reporter he constantly provides information on the air that any fan could recite. It's really annoying when they ask him questions in his segment and he states that, "well they have a good defense so..." and other generic phrases that never get in depth explanation. I'm not saying he could have or should have known, but as an example, the kind of information that would be informative to me would be having an inkling this is Orton's last year, or some insight on the Mike WIlliams situation, or how the players feel about Hackett, or the Doug v Doug spat. Basically anything that is not regurgitated fact that any casual observer that watches the games and listens to the recap press conferences would know. But he wears a suit, so there's that.
  4. To be fair, NFL teams in search of a quarterback are typically in chaos.
  5. Step 2 - Trade all draft picks for the next ten years for Andrew Luck.
  6. I thought the narrative was that he won 4 bowl games?
  7. That will be the narrative unless he doesn't improve this offseason.
  8. Sounds like he truly isn't fast enough for the NFL.
  9. Agreed. It's only weird if you actually expect big changes and shake ups.
  10. Yep. It's impossible for the line to be an excuse for Marrone. His coaching "specialty" aside, we know what the players were capable of.
  11. Why? Marrone could have used them at the same positions. I completely disagree with you.
  12. I don't disagree that that happened, and contributed...but the line personnel was very similar: 2012 Starting OL: LT - CORDY GLENN - 13 GS LG - ANDY LEVITRE - 16 GS C - ERIC WOOD - 14 GS RG - KRAIG URBIK - 13 GS RT - CHRIS HAIRSTON - 8 GS RT - ERIC PEARS - 7 GS
  13. Amazing. Why? In the red zone he can't line up in the slot? They can't figure out a formation to put him on the field? Woods can't line up in the slot in the red zone? Seriously? Come on.
  14. I never said that. I just think you're way off base in accepting whatever the Buffalo Bills front office tells you. There's a need for secrecy, no doubt. They don't have to tell us everything, for sure. The problem, is I have no reason to believe they've actually adopted any new system. If Russ is no longer running the football operations, for example, then why did they say he will help with reviewing the coaching staff? If EJ was the franchise quarterback going into the season, why can't they admit that he is or isn't based on just 4 games starting? There's just so many question marks year after year. It's getting annoying, and I think we're all justified in being frustrated and question them again and again until they actually prove they know what they're doing.
  15. Then why did they announce they had a shiny new analytics department? Do you know what's not a conspiracy? 15 straight seasons without a playoff appearance. Maybe a lot of people rightfully think they're inept.
  16. The only things I took from this press conference: 1. Whaley needs to take some public speaking courses, ASAP. Need to be a more confident person vocally, as he is in a leadership role. I don't think this is insignificant. 2. Whaley would not call EJ the franchise QB, so I'd expect that they're going to have to find one or face a lot of scrutiny. Kirk Cousins, for example, won't cut it. 3. The journalists have consistently dropped the ball in asking the right questions about Mike Williams. If we're to believe that the reason he didn't play was because his position (can't play slot apparently?), then how come other coaches have no problem utilizing special formations to target their talented players? 4. Marrone seemed to truly not understand what it takes for CJ Spiller to be effective. When prompted about Chan's offense, he claims he's studied it. Something is wrong then.
  17. I disagree. I think he did struggle with accuracy, but he certainly hit receivers in stride no less than Kyle Orton.
  18. What about this: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2014092500/2014/REG4/giants@redskins#menu=gameinfo%7CcontentId%3A0ap3000000404127&tab=recap
  19. We're not allowed to say that EJ Manuel beat Jay Cutler? I mean... seriously? Yeah it's a team sport, 100% but there are a bunch of ways to quantify wins.
  20. Yes, but what FA QB do you want? We might need to trade to get a good QB, and then they wouldn't really have a say.
  21. Eh, the problem is...we still didn't make the playoffs. If EJ gave it a go and still didn't make the playoffs we would at least maybe know what we had there. I think that's the resounding point. Orton blew it in Week 16. That's commendable, I guess...but now we don't know what we have.
  22. I am with you. I feel like the tone of the thread is having EJ hop in to action following the KC and MIA games.
  23. Mostly sucks.
