  1. Umm...provided he doesn't get hurt, if we get Sam Bradford it wouldn't be a stop-gap type thing.
  2. To be fair, Geno has played a lot, lot worse than EJ.
  3. How cheap? I definitely would support this move, but I'm guessing it would cost a lot. Even though he's been oft injured, he was a 1st overall pick and hasn't really played that poorly despite a consistently awful team.
  4. Look, I'm sorry that you'll have to change your avatar, but Orton retired. He wasn't good enough to make the playoffs. He had a good look at it, and didn't do enough to win the KC, MIA, or OAK games. You can continue your hindsight crusade, but I won't see it, since I'm blocking you.
  5. No, I'm not mathematically challenged. My point is, given the Oakland game, what makes you so certain he was going to win the Houston game? How do you not see the hypocrisy in your argument?
  6. What about the Oakland game?
  7. Because that win basically inflated Orton. If EJ's biggest issue was confidence, this would have the perfect time to do it. Either way, it's an irrelevant argument since we didn't do this.
  8. EJ only lost two games. The highest we could have won would have been 11. You think Orton is going to sweep the Chargers, texans games? Fine. Orton lost to Oakland, you know that right?
  9. I was certainly quietly saying this though, when it happened. Those were crushing defeats. The playoffs seemed unlikely at that point, and we had the Jets up next with an opportunity to get an "easy' win. It would have been a great opportunity to see what you have there in EJ. Orton did not trend upwards after the bye.
  10. It would be a very hard sell, based on his poor performance, and the fact that he lost at home to EJ Manuel.
  11. Agreed. It's GREAT news.
  12. Glad Marrone played him on Sunday.
  13. Turns down 5 mill? Best possible news for the team?
  14. Those words are empty. The team was flat in it's big games and settled for field goals way too much. Came out of a bye at 5-3 and blew the KC game. Down the stretch they weren't disciplined enough to take care of business in Oakland. They play hard for Marrone, fine. But they don't play smart when they need it most. Not sure anything else matters.
  15. It's bad luck, but also very frustrating. We had an opportunity to have a competitive rivalry with one the best ever, and we laid an egg. Twice a year. For 13 years or so.
  16. Why is that funny? Certainly if Russ found success this would be different. You live and die by the sword. I never felt like he was qualified for his expanded role, but if the team was successful it would be easier to give him credit.
  17. No, please don't ignore the obvious issues with it, go on, explain... To your last question...We missed the playoffs. Again. It's the sum of all parts that make everything work, and he's a big part. Edit: ugh, you just edited your post to add more condescending words and I'm done here. You're slinging insults and are remarkably closed minded. We fielded the best team on paper? Yeah? Well we missed the playoffs. Merry Christmas.
  18. I see Hackett has having a lot more influence on the in-game offense than the other examples you pointed out... ...but I don't want to argue with you because Marrone is certainly responsible for this often unwatchable offense.
  19. I don't know why your burden of proof is higher than that of the court, but it's getting annoying. Photographic and video evidence shows Russ Brandon's involvement in the 2014 NFL draft and indicates that he has, beyond reasonable doubt, a significant influence on personnel decisions on the football team. Earlier, you agreed and said that he obviously has an influence. Whaley reports to him on decisions. That's it. That's all I am saying, that's all I proved and it's my whole point as to why he also should be held accountable for 15 years of missing the playoffs. I feel like I'm arguing with you, and the real crux of it is not anything I'm saying that sets you off, but rather that you believe Brandon is fine, and I don't.
  20. That's all well and good...but Hackett calls the plays, which is a way different animal.
  21. So that's 5 facts... Badges - this was a metaphor, but ultimately yes he IS the man in charge. Unqualified - I didn't harp on this at all, but yes he has NO football scouting/coaching history. Leave no stone unturned - He literally said this. Hired Cause coaching staff - He literally did this. In the war room - He literally was in there. These are five things I have said that are actually not disjointed. There's even more facts than those. They're facts that lead me to question the authenticity of the "Russ is just a marketing guy" argument. I believe I'm developing a case and have reasonable doubt that Russ Brandon is just some blameless bystander in a suit. I get that you disagree, but stop calling my claim unfounded like it's some grand conspiracy theory.
