  1. Are you sure? I noted in the games I saw that the FIRST STRING defense covered well and, in addition, were not fooled by misdirection plays. The replacement players as the games wore on, however, looked pretty bad. I admit I missed the 4th game and only read about the third.
  2. Gaithers did not practice Friday and is now listed as questionable
  3. I am taking Houston in all my Survivor Pools.
  4. Apparently the Jets were "stupid" too. According the Star Ledger, the Jets made a claim for Young too. Bills were awarded him however.
  5. Not to mention that by far the best player on the Board when the Bills drafted was a defensive lineman in round 1. Filled a need and BPA.
  6. Thanks. I wasn't aware of the switch
  7. Wasn't he playing BOTH sides of the ball his last two years? Your comment suggests he was not playing d-line the last two years. Is that correct?
  8. I am under the impression a few of the reader/posters in this thread do not understand that a team cannot sign a player off of another team's practice squad onto their own practice squad. Thus, the fact that the Bills have Jasper there does mean something - only the Bills can have him on their practice squad until we release him. [ Now, if another team wants to get him, they have to sign him onto their 53 man roster and have a space open (via injury or an out and out release). "Hiding" Jasper makes some sense if they were really impressed with him in practice to the point where they thought another team would lure him onto their practice squad ahead of them. Having said that, it is more likely Nix was kidding at least a bit - they looked at Jasper at NT/DT and found him wanting (I thought he had tremendous PUSH but looked like he was in slow motion when a runner got near him. He may be fast but he didn't seem (to me) to have football "instincts" so unless a runner ran right into him, he was out of the play. As an offensive lineman that problem can me largely eliminated (with lots of practice) since the offense KNOWS where the play is going and a lineman is assigned a specific player to block. The learning part is reacting to stunts and the like. He can't be any dumber than Jason Peters (a 7 wonderlic) - in fact I have heard nothing negative about his intelligence to date. This suggest the guy CAN learn at least as well as Jason did. A perfect example of a Project Player. my 2 cents
  9. Felt it here in Central NJ too.
  10. Thanks! This was a great review and a great read. Good job
  11. I, too, want to make sure I understand the new and old rules: So LOT 1 you still can save spots and have people come and park where they please? OR, did the Parking Nazi's ADD Lots 2 and 3 to the Lot 1 rules? I know they made it more difficult to save spots in Lot 1 either last year or the past 2 years but people have been saving spots anyway. Whomever knows what's what please straighten me out on this. Thnx
  12. Ellis on PUP - uncertain if he will be able to play by Opening Day Haynesworth out for third straight practice http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/6846897/shaun-ellis-not-ready-new-england-patriots-put-pup-list Is "satan's minion" (Belicheat) out of favor with His Lord?
  13. A friend of mine knows him and told me about the situation about a month ago. He asked me and RevNJoisy to pray for him. - And we have! Get well soon, Allen. -RichNJ & RevNJ
  14. For once I think the negative voice is in the minority. Thigpen THRIVED under Gailey's influence. He fits the new (and soon-to-be-modified) offense to a tee. He is a vet and he was coveted and we got him for 1/3 the cost of a starter. Meanwhile, Fitzy plays behind a suspect line and almost certainly will miss a game or two. Thigpen was PERFECT for the role of backup. The third stringer (Smith) also can throw and will be "warm" since he will be playing in the games (WR,RB and occasional QB). Bills, IMO, have one of the better 3 QB situations in the entire league. We can survive TWO (2) QB injuries. The Bills problems lie elsewhere - o-line, TE, and LB (injury risk is huge). Bills won't make the playoffs but they will win the games they should AND a few they shouldn't this year. 7-9, 8-8 or maybe even (gasp) 9-7. As Kirk said before he died: "sounds like fun!" -RnJ
  15. Well, at least they can make Jerry Sullivan happy. That's worth a lot in my book
  16. Dolphins | Chad Henne booed at practice Tue, 02 Aug 2011 07:17:41 -0700 Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne had a lackluster showing during a scrimmage Monday, Aug. 1, and many of the fans in attendance let him know it. Henne was booed a couple of times following poor throws. Fans chanted "We Want (Kyle) Orton," referring to the Denver Broncos quarterback the Dolphins tried to trade for. (kffl.com) Jeesh - Orton the savior? Looks like the Fish have made a reservation for last place in the AFC East. Hopefully, we can help them keep it.
  17. good analysis something to chew on this morning
  18. They obviously think he is a franchise QB. alright, there are no facts in evidence....... but hey! it's only money now, enough distractions form my "clabo" watch
  19. we may never know but what do you think is "significantly" better? The Falcons have somewhere between $8-$10 mill at best left in salary cap space. The Bills have something like $20 mil (Hard to keep track with all the signings taking place). The Bills started with $37 and the Falcons with $13. Bills can easily top by 2 mil or more per year unless the falcons make the term long long long to spread out a huge signing bonus.
  20. 3 yr $15 mil according to kffl.com
  21. And a sh$tload of money wouldn't hurt, huh?
  22. How could I forget the Blue?? My bad
