Sure, they have to play well, John but the key is pressure. The Bills HAVE to put pressure on Brady or it is all over. By the way, as if the Bills NEEDED additional incentive to win this one, The Raiders are using as bulletin board material the film showing Jets QB Mark Sanchez eating a hot dog during the game 2 years ago in a 38-0 blowout of Oakland. Apparently the Raiders plan to inflict some PAIN on Mr. S. A Jets loss and a Bills win would put the Bills alone in 1st place. Can you imagine this?

yes, by not counting I MEANT they were not 19-0 but whatever....

You are close but here is how the definitions go: Brady is Jesus Christ or Golden Boy (take your pick) God WAS Tedy Bruschi (remember he could raise from the dead, make tackles and save puppies all at the same time?) Belicheat is "son of Satan" or the "spawn from Hell" (again, take your pick) The Cheatriots are the only team (Miami doesn't count) to go 19-0 (I have SEEN the tee shirts...funny but only in Indonesia?) They NEVER lose even if the score looks that way after the gun sounds. As Berman would say, "That's why they (don't need to) PLAY the GAME!" I am sure I can find a sound clip of that quote somewhere. I mean, he must have said it....we are talking about New England.

Stevie Johnson did not practice today!
richNjoisy replied to skijef's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Mark Gaughan, we have this: "Bills receiver Stevie Johnson is watching practice in the fieldhouse today and not working with the rest of the wideouts. Johnson was not on the injury report Wednesday. However, he appeared to tweak his knee early in Wednesday's session and took a few practice repetitions off. He then returned to the practice. Johnson was the only player not suited up, aside from cornerback Terrence McGee, who is out with a hamstring injury. Defensive tackle Torell Troup (sore back) was in uniform but was limited. Linebacker Arthur Moats (sore knee) appeared to be working fully. The Raiders have some major issues at receiver entering Sunday's game. No. 2 wideout Jacoby Ford (hamstring) did not practice and seems likely to be out. No. 3 wideout Louis Murphy (groin) is out." Let's worry about the Cheatriots next week
-
I agree completely with this sentiment. I am absolutely positive there is NO WAY the Bills will have an emotional let down. An 11-year, non playoff team coming off a 4-12 season does not get complacent after one win. The opposite is actually the more likely scenario. It goes like this: "Wow! Winning feels really really good!" "I think I will play my butt off so I can feel that way for another week." I plan to have no voice left at about 4 pm on Sunday helping the Bills make that goal.

Pass interference on a Hail Mary vs Cheatriots right after the "just give it to them" call on a 4th down pass caught out of bounds short of the 1st down marker Sid Luckett's refereeing team 2nd runner up - losing to Dallas Monday night football (worst coached game I have ever watched)

Great review Big Guy. Maybe you should have called it "Bills Central South?" BC is already spoken for in Central NJ as you well know! Lisa and I will be in the Mud Lot just to the right of the Fieldhouse this Sunday. Yep, I'll be cooking some wings! Go Bills!

Bills still not built to beat Pats
richNjoisy replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One of the things to realize is that defeating an opponent doesn't mean winning every play of the game. So far, it has been night and day going from a Jauron-prepared and Jauron-led team to a Gailey one. Which means, I am confident the coaching staff will know this and plan for this. Defeating a team like the Cheatriots DOES involve the absolute necessity of pressuring Brady but it doesn't have to be every play but enough to take him out of his game. I have always been an advocate when facing a team with ONE major player (in this case Brady) to focus on that one player even risking giving up points early to get him off his game. When a QB - you keep blitzing him until you have popped him enough times to see him start to flinch/look/rush. Dan Marino was a classic example of this - if he was comfortable, you were dead. This technique never worked against Joe Montana until very late in his career (on the Chiefs to be exact). It also did not always work with Brett Favre or Jim Kelly. Brady, actually, is a "little girl" if you hit him, he'll cry to the refs and start yelling at his linemen AND RUSHING HIS THROWS . I say, blitz with as many as you need while ATTEMPTING to not give up the TD throw but being willing to give it up (early) to pop him. If he's comfortable back there (see last night) - you're dead. New England only brought 6 men o-line to Miami

"playing with fire"? so what he's in league with the devil child's play -
Are you sure? I noted in the games I saw that the FIRST STRING defense covered well and, in addition, were not fooled by misdirection plays. The replacement players as the games wore on, however, looked pretty bad. I admit I missed the 4th game and only read about the third.

Gaithers did not practice Friday and is now listed as questionable

I am taking Houston in all my Survivor Pools.

Apparently the Jets were "stupid" too. According the Star Ledger, the Jets made a claim for Young too. Bills were awarded him however.

Not to mention that by far the best player on the Board when the Bills drafted was a defensive lineman in round 1. Filled a need and BPA.

Wasn't he playing BOTH sides of the ball his last two years? Your comment suggests he was not playing d-line the last two years. Is that correct? -

I am under the impression a few of the reader/posters in this thread do not understand that a team cannot sign a player off of another team's practice squad onto their own practice squad. Thus, the fact that the Bills have Jasper there does mean something - only the Bills can have him on their practice squad until we release him. [ Now, if another team wants to get him, they have to sign him onto their 53 man roster and have a space open (via injury or an out and out release). "Hiding" Jasper makes some sense if they were really impressed with him in practice to the point where they thought another team would lure him onto their practice squad ahead of them. Having said that, it is more likely Nix was kidding at least a bit - they looked at Jasper at NT/DT and found him wanting (I thought he had tremendous PUSH but looked like he was in slow motion when a runner got near him. He may be fast but he didn't seem (to me) to have football "instincts" so unless a runner ran right into him, he was out of the play. As an offensive lineman that problem can me largely eliminated (with lots of practice) since the offense KNOWS where the play is going and a lineman is assigned a specific player to block. The learning part is reacting to stunts and the like. He can't be any dumber than Jason Peters (a 7 wonderlic) - in fact I have heard nothing negative about his intelligence to date. This suggest the guy CAN learn at least as well as Jason did. A perfect example of a Project Player. my 2 cents -
Felt it here in Central NJ too.

I, too, want to make sure I understand the new and old rules: So LOT 1 you still can save spots and have people come and park where they please? OR, did the Parking Nazi's ADD Lots 2 and 3 to the Lot 1 rules? I know they made it more difficult to save spots in Lot 1 either last year or the past 2 years but people have been saving spots anyway. Whomever knows what's what please straighten me out on this. Thnx -
