  1. At his age nothing is dangerous for Ralph. I am sure ralph like us would be glad to see a Buffalo team win a championship.
  2. It was a slap in the face to every Sabre and every Sabre fan the way the Sabres let Drury, Briere and Campbell go.
  3. How many grates do you have in your 1st floor room now?
  4. The players get 48% but rookies are locked in low end contracts for 4 years, with the average player lasting about 3.5 years this will create very rich top end players and leave many more players... those that get hurt with very limited earning potential; while Average players will get cut after four years and be replaced by low cost rookies. Seems to me that teams like Dallas, WAshington, etc will extravagantly overpay for top end talent, even more so than today. Football will be over-exposed and the season will last way too long, just like baseball, basketball and hockey.
  5. I am sure everyone hopes he makes it this year. Very big long shot but you gotta root for the guy.
  6. Cash to crap is aptly named. What the NFL and all sports should do is reward teams that do their homework, draft well, have great coaching, develop their own players and prepare them for football and life after football. That way all teams would be on a a level playing field and obviously the Bills would still be 0 for this century.
  7. Our best chance of beating them is always the next game. Looking into the future, if we start to improve, we may beat the Pats once over the next three years. We may beat the Jets twice over the next three years and we may split 3-3 with the Fins. On average we will be 2-4 in the division for the next three years. We will not see the playoffs until the fourth year.
  8. All three, at their best, are possibly the worst trio of receivers in the league. I am neither Stevie lover nor hater, he is a great 7th round pick but not a great receiver. I became a Lee "hater" as I believe he quit three years ago. At one time I thought Lee could become one of the best WRs the Bills ever had, but just like Palin he quit for the money. IMO Roscoe's best days are over, too little and too late, blame DJ if you want, who cares, but Roscoe never produced and when given a chance he broke down because he is too small. I have never seen him create a big play from the line of scrimmage and if you are a small guy you have to do that. In 5 years not one big play from the LOS, not one. Plenty more puny guys where that came from.
  9. Do you really spend time on this? I frankly find that remarkable; and not in a mocking way. What else is in that book? Any Union, Confederate or Slave widows? Anyone that went up San Juan Hill with the Rough RIders? Do you remember the Maine? 49.40 or Fight! Tippecanoe and Tyler too? Go Preston Rhidlehuber!
  10. Unfortunately the NFL PA and MLB PA are much more focused on the few at the top than those at the bottom. That is because as most people understand that the Agents really call the shots. Just like in politics where the special interests run the day, the agents run the negotiations. Moving the revenue / benefits so all equally benefit does not help the agents who make their living off the top players. If an idea does not help the agents, like Brewer's of giving up revenue for long term healthcare, it will not survive. This is not unlike our own healthcare discussions today, if an idea does not help the high priced doctors, big pharma, the insurance companies or the hospital lobbyists, it is branded as socialism and gets attacked. People and many football players need to wake up.
  11. I thought he was being quite optimistic about our tight end's capabilities. They are less than bad.
  12. Now it is the Bills fault that Lee Evans sucks! Before it was JP;s TE's and RF's, the porous line, the coaching, TO, no TO, Stevie wasn't good so Lee got doubled, Stevie was good so did not throw to Lee, blah blah blah. They give this guy more chances and he just does not show up. His stats since he signed his contract are staggering inadequate.
  13. Nobody is raiding our PS squad. Very few of the our marginal players will make a squad on anther team. I like Namaan tho and cannot stomach Lee.
  14. Paup played five years in Green Bay and was a proven player when we grabbed him. He then had a career year with 17.5 sacks on a very exciting, experienced defense anchored by the best DE ever to play the game.. Batten has done and shown nothing yet you have him walking in Paup's shoes. He can't even hold his jock. Batten will be playing on one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Yes it is okay to hope he gets better and hope he may even start a few games this season. But to proclaim him the second coming is juvenile. If you are under 12 years old I get where you are coming from, if not, I don't.
  15. You are one of those Bills fans that think that any Bills player that has never played a down should be in the hall of fame. Like those that think Jasper will be starting mid way into the season. Where does the idiocy come from?
  16. I am all for shutting it down right now, rescind the anti-trust exemption for the league, bust the de-certified union and having new competing leagues start all over again. Why should sport franchises be exempt from competition? No reason what so ever. Then clean up college football and make it a sport only for student-athletes, with the emphasis on student.
  17. For the Bills of the late 70's and 80's besides, Nixon and Butler already mentioned, our best LB in the Bermuda Triangle and an absolute beast was Shane Nelson. Once his knee busted up he was never the same. One year opposing teams were averaging something like 1.5 yd per carry when he was in the games and over 4 when he was out. He would be on the wall had his career lasted. He was a stud. We also had a very good, very fast WR named Mike Montler (sp?) that never made an impact due to his knees. Maybe someone else remembers his name.
  18. I think it is more reflective of the newer owners, Jones, Snyder et al, bunch of prima dona's. The owners screwed up the last deal and are trying to recoup their past failure and set themselves up again. Once the deal is done, one should expect that they will cry they were screwed again and prices will jump.
  19. Debt is how much you owe as a lump sum. Debt Service is your monthly/quarterly or annual payment.
  20. I would not call it "ourely assinine", you could have said something like ill informed. Braxton would have had great career numbers if the ball wasn't always handed off to a future double murderer. Braxton was a tough runner.
  21. Best RBs 1. Orenthal James SImpson 2. Carleton Gilchrist 3. Thurman Thomas 4. Jim Braxton 5. Joe Cribbs Best all around player 1. Cookie 2. Thurman 3. OJ Appropriate Jail Time 1. OJ - 2 life terms 2. Travis - 10 -20 Ugliest & Dumbest 1. Travis
  22. Neither are starting caliber NTs. Jasper will be lucky to make the practice squad. With a lot of improvement, Troupe may become an average NT.
  23. The real issue is that with the brain injury studies being done the NFL is legally on notice that it must do all that it can to protect the players. The lawsuits that will spring up once the studies are fully validated will put the NFL at risk. Kind of like the Catholic Church and the kiddie abuse, once the problem was known they must do all that they can to prevent it because the resulting lawsuits. The lawsuits could put a serious crimp in the NFL's future earnings. It is bad enough that there are serious spinal injuries but someone will be killed on the field if this goes unchecked and when that happens watch how fast the lawsuit is filed. That people are committing suicide later in life is tragic and I am sure some smart lawyer will put together a pretty strong case and slam it to the owners.
  24. The issue in St Louis revolves around their stadium. It must be in the top tier of stadiums or the team gets an out. I doubt the team is looking for an out but they will just squeeze the city's balls to get money out of them. My problem with the stadium is that it is indoors and games there really suck. Night and day atmosphere at a Chiefs or Bills game vs a game in STL.
  25. I am with Five wide. Lee has no heart, drops way too many balls for a number one and when the game is on the line Lee simply does not get open. Why bother keeping him? Lee has shown that he is a quitter. Roscoe could have been a threat had he not been mis-used for years by Jauron. Why draft a player like this if you do not use him? Makes no sense. Now five years later he missed his prime and may be injury prone. How can Roscoe, small, with speed and elusiveness, never, ever, ever, ever had a play from scrimmage where he left everyone grasping at air and took it to the house? Never from scrimmage! He has not shown big play ability with DJ or in a year with Chan, except on punt returns. Under Chan, Roscoe performed like a number three WR, not a great one, but an average one. However, the offense did not miss a beat when he was out; and non-drafted players easily stepped in and performed at his level when he was out, emphasis on easily-stepped-in. Roscoe unlike Lee does have heart and a competitive fire. What do these two have that our non drafted WRs don't have. Not much. If we keep one of the two, keep Roscoe.
