  1. we may be 4-11 going into that game and then we run for the bus...
  2. #2 is Cam Newton
  3. both look like excellent special teams candidates with that size and speed. we need some nasties.
  4. The draft is loaded with defense who is to say next years will have this much quality. Pick the ripe fruit.
  5. If you figure that stadiums have on average a 30 year life span, it stands to reason that no football in 2011 will seriously hurt the Cowboys. 1/30th of their anticipated revenue will not be realized. The fact that the loss of revenue comes in year 2 versus say year 25 that loss of revenue is compounded. No one stands to lose more from a labor stoppage than Ol Stretch-face Jones. The Bills will suck again next year no matter who we draft so a work stoppage might not be that bad when viewed from that perspective. Now what would happen if Stretch-face has no revenue in 2012 as well? One can only dream....
  6. Why are so may suggesting we pick questionable offensive players early in a draft that is loaded with quality defensive players especially when OUR DEFENSE SUCKS? PIcks 1 and 2 must be defense and the third should be defense. Also our most glaring need on offense is right tackle and right guard assuming Wood moves to center. We need beef and nastiness on both lines.
  7. Most people don't seem to get it that this team does not have a nose tackle. Troupe is a DT not a NT, he may be able sub for a NT but he is not a space eater that commands multiple blockers, and "may" is the operative word there. Williams is a DT in a 4-3 that can play DE in a 3-4. Dareus and Fairley are DEs in a 3-4 that can also play DT in a 4-3. Dareus in rd 1 then Taylor from Baylor in rd 2. Taylor is one of only a couple true NTs in the draft, and arguably the most capable NT. Jordan and Watt and Kerrigan are all 3-4 & 4-3 DEs. We cannot go another year without a NT in our 3-4 defense. If we get Baylor and Dareus our #1 3-4 D-lines is Dareus-Taylor-Williams and #2 is Jefferson-Troupe-Carrington. If we get Miller and Taylor the #1 line is Carrington-Taylor-Williams and #2 is Jefferson-Troupe-whatever other slug we pick up. Our draft board should be: #1 pick is best defensive lineman or linebacker available; #2 best NT available; #3 best OT or LB available. Taking Gabbert in rd 1 and an OT in rd 2 throws this defense backwards at least two more years and it is the worst defense in the NFL right now. To miss out on the defensive talent that is available in the top 35 picks would be criminal. Newton is the only offensive player we can consider in the first two rounds.
  8. Troupe and Williams are DTs not NTs neither is a space eater that demands two blockers on running plays. Williams moves to DE when we have a true NT. I am 110% for this scenario. Other option Dareus and and Taylor if he is there if not the best available OLB in rd 2. Martez Wilson or Moch in rd 3.
  9. If we take Miller in the first we have to get a NT in the second. Nothing else makes sense. A QB in rd 2 does not help us half as much as a NT. However if Newton falls to us in the first and we grab him we have to take a NT in the 2nd and LBs in the 3rd and 4th. If we take Miller or Dareus then a NT in the second we could go for Copernicus in 3 or an OT.
  10. The Steel Curtain was the first heavily juiced defense, it had nothing to do with the players it was all steroids.
  11. If we do not address defense big time in this draft, the coach won't have to say anything to the team about winning or losing. We can just sit back and watch the other team pound the ball down our throats play after play. We'd have the highest rated Pass Defense because the only time someone would throw the ball is when they were bored of running it or their RBs were winded.
  12. We need a nose tackle. neither Troupe or Williams are suitable nose tackles for a 3-4. The LBs on this team look very bad due to a great part of the lack of a true NT. if we take Von in rd 1 we have to come back and take a NT in rd 2.
  13. My gut tells me that Merriman will have a very good year for the Bills and will play in most if not all the games and finish with at least 8 sacks.
  14. I am not a von miller fan yet but i can be persuaded. I just think we need beef upfront. Von will not do much with our current Dline. Kyle Williams makes plays but he does not tie up two O linemen on running plays. Troupe and Carrington are big question marks and I do not expect either to make big progressions next year. Miller will have a linemen on him on every running play and we do not have linemen that demand double teams on pass plays so the offense will be able to pick up Miller. If you can guarantee that we get Taylor, Paea, Wilkerson , or Liuget in round 2 then I am okay with Miller in rd 1. If we go Miller then a QB in rd 2 I will puke.
  15. Jim Kelly wasn't / isn't very smart but he had balls.
  16. Bledsoe was a darn good QB until the hit that led to Brady and then the trade to Buffalo.
  17. Agree, if you trade down do it once and get a top tier player, trading down twice gets you another Aaron Maybe. Trade down once and land Fairley, Jordan or Watt and I am happy. Get an extra second and stay on defense with both picks. This crap about a QB or OT when our defense sucks so bad is ridiculous. We can get a crappy QB or OT in round three as there is not much difference than the crap you would get from these positions in rd 2. This draft is all about defense draft to its strength.
  18. Ron Fairley was an overrated center fielder. Nck Fairley is an underrated DT. Take Nick and fhuggghetaboutit.
  19. Colin will be there in rd 2 and maybe rd 3. We should sit tight till rd three and wait for him. or if we trade down and pick up an extra second we can get him with the later 2nd rd pick.
  20. Here are my thoughts as parts are addressed in different threads... i combined them into one. As we all know and are surprised at those that did not know, all of the coaches & GMs are putting up smoke screens about who is good or not, who is rising and who is falling, etc.. I would hypothesize that some coaches and GMs let their staff feed the sports media "inside information" that may not be entirely true on who they like and don't and why certain players should rise and fall. i think the Bills read why Maybin should rise last year and we got Buffalo-ed. You see and hear - unidentified sources, sources close to the war room - all of the time. I would further hypothesize that some teams (Dallas comes to mind) would even collaborate with certain media types (Kiper comes to mind) to help spread false news about players to ensure they rise / fall on draft day. With that idea germinating in my mind, I began to wonder what has Nick Fairley done to warrant the beating his stock has taken since the end of the season? He has done nothing wrong...he performed well at the combine....he did nothing but make plays all year long....many more than Marcell Dareus. So why the drop off? His weight, I don't think so. Some say he lacks motivation. Some say one year wonder. I say bull. This guy is a big nasty and we have not had his type on our team in a long long time. Many say he can be the most dominating defensive player in the draft. I say take him at three. Fairley, Williams, Carrington rotate outside, Fairley and Troupe rotate inside and this will make a very good line. Fairley and improvement from Troupe and Carrington will improve our linebackers immensely. I say it is all smoke about Fairley just to scare teams away. Don't listen to it, watch the tape, he is a beast. And then hope that Taylor falls to round 2.....now that would be a monster line. Even Maybin could make plays with that line in front of him...well maybe.
  21. This is the answer. First off, Viagara does do all of those things mentioned earlier and anyone over the age of puberty should try it. But the reason a 23 year old football player needs a prescription for it is steroids.
  22. Mark my words unless they trade down, Denver takes Peterson. Assuming Carolina is on the Newton train, this leaves us us with a lot of options at 3. And we could still trade to 5, let Arizona have Blaine, while the Bengals take Greene or Miller and we grab Dareus or Fairley. I am fine with either player, but we just need a beast and Fairley is a nasty one. Or if we were very, very lucky we would trade down again and get Jordan or Watt and have three picks in the second where we could get a NT, QB and LB.
  23. We need a beast on defense not on offense. Von Miller, although he will be a great ballplayer, is not a beast. Fairley might be, Dareus will be good but may not make it to three. Although I think the Draft will start Newton number 1 and Peterson number 2.
