  1. Is it possible that this line is more suited to a man block scheme instead of zone blocking? Are they better suited for old-fashioned north-south blocking?
  2. When the light bulb comes on for EJ this season because there's an innovative O in place, and he takes the Bills to the playoffs, all these guys will be spelling his name correctly. Guaranteed.
  3. It's just that "we-don't-have-a-QB-so-we're-doomed" contingent. Sigh.
  4. Ok, I'm with you on the "proclamations of 'Dream Team' that offseason," but can you help me out with the Mr. Wolf wisdom? I watched that movie a long time ago and was in an...altered state when I did so. Thanks! GO BILLS!!! #SUPERBOWL!
  5. They should put cameras on their lower-level employees, equipment managers, and in the facilities bathrooms. Those seem to be "problem areas," historically, for the Pats*
  6. This is the one thing about the Pats* organization that I like. Kraft built Gillette and Patriots Place the right way. Foxboro isn't exactly a booming metropolis, but Kraft created a destination and that site generates revenue (and tax revenue) 24/7. I consider it to be the gold standard for what the Pegulas need to do in downtown Buffalo.
  7. Dear Mr. Kraft, When you, Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady are on the ballot for the Hall of Fame, your culture of cheating will be the story again...and again...and again. People might have short memories from season to season, but the Hall of Fame is different. Your team, and your reputation, are tarnished forever. Hope you enjoyed holding up that shiny trophy, you disingenous jerk. Sincerely, NFL Fans
  8. If the Pats* win, then DeflateGate fades into obscurity and becomes an unpleasant historical footnote--even with fines and penalties--just like Belichick's $500K fine. If Brady and Belichick are not implicated for cheating again before they retire, the next time we'll hear about all this is when they are up for HOF consideration. Then there will be much discussion about their tarnished legacy and whether the selection committee and voters will even consider that. Edit: Seahawks 24, Patriots 23
  9. In one shot from behind the kicker it looked like they were using Arena Football goalposts.
  10. He is a great offensive strategist and, as a former offensive lineman, will develop the Jags O-line into a cohesive, high-functioning unit. Said no one. Ever.
  11. 9:35 on a Thursday morning. One Bills Drive. Ryan: Terry, I think ______ would be a great QB in free agency for us. Whaley: [Lots of stuff about Watkins, EJ, development, assessment] Peg: Yeah, so...Rex, will _______ help us get back to the dance? Ryan: Yup. Peg: Doug, go get us ________.
  12. Jeez, yeah. I came here for Bills discussion, not Organizational Behavior 201
  13. Central VA: coworkers have been impressed with the Ryan hire. They are Dallas, VT, and UVa fans, for the most part.
  14. During his presser, he said (paraphrasing) that they would try a fake punt on 4th and 13 with three minutes left in the game and up by three. Watch the rebroadcast and you'll hear him say it. So the answer to the OP is "oh HELL no."
  15. EDIT: Whoops. Meant to reply to this remark--"He is a horrible speaker, however, a P/R Manager's worst nightmare, and he comes across as moderately intelligent at best." Have you listened to many of the other NFL owners? Their public speaking skills range from sublime to...well, Jerry Jones, who always sounds like he's about to go wrangle a steer and then fire his six-shooters in the air. Even Bob Kraft isn't exactly Mr. Smooove. Sorry for the newb misstep on the quoting.
  16. LOL! It was not a tough PC, Greggy T, but as the "ranking" columnist in Buffalo, don't you think Sully could have come up with a more complex question than trying to nail Rex about his game management? He had a golden opportunity to set the tone for that presser and whiffed.
  17. These guys (Ryan, Pegula, Brandon, Whaley) are coming across as smooth, well-spoken, and real. Yeah, Ryan is saying the things you want to hear from a new head coach, but they are not bumbling and stumbling through the Q&A. I'm sure that we'll see Ryan's "larger than life" persona as the season gets closer and the questions get tougher, but right now, he strikes me as a well-put-together, reasonably-articulate guy. Certainly an upgrade from St. Doug. Sully tried to pin him with a question about him being a not-so-good game manager, and he replied that its the one thing that they always say about a coach when they're on the way out of town. He said that he can be better with all aspects of his coaching and that he will improve. On his first 24 hours in Buffalo and his trip to the Big Tree: "The beer was cold."
  18. I am so f*&=#ing excited right now. GO BILLS!!!
  19. I agree with you on the O-line upgrade. No point in getting a game-managing QB if the interior collapses at his feet. That'll make anyone look like Orton. I might jump TE ahead of RB or do a T-3. I don't think that you can establish a power running game without the threat of WRs or TEs who are able to run effective patterns (crosses) and move the sticks. To do that, we need an upgrade from our current staff.
