Jonathan Martin and Incognito Bullygate back in the news
appoo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Martin did not use the word bullying. His mother did. The incident started when Martin checked himself into a hospital, the dolphins asked why, and Martin turned over what he considered to be absuive text messages and voice mails, which were damning enough that the dolphins decided to suspect Incognito while the NFL launched an independent investigation through Ted Wells. Martin now says he wishes he didn’t stay silent when his mother used the word bullying and for cooperating with the Wells investigation- likely because he hates that he’s first associated with being a victim rather than someone who fought off his attacker. This very much runs parallel to the world of sexual assault. Many women regret speaking up against their assaulters because they hate having their identity become that of someone who’s been assaulted - a victim. It’s why abuse is traumatic. The abuse doesn’t stop with the incident - instead the trauma last a life time and it evolves. -
Jonathan Martin and Incognito Bullygate back in the news

Incognito was suspended for doing the actions unveiled in the internal report which were the exact actions he was accused of doing by Martin. Whether you want to call it bullying or not is up to you - it’s a judgmental phrase. His factual actions are not up for debate EDIT This started with Martin checking himself into a hospital for mental health reasons, and then turning over material to dolphins which included voice mails and text messages of things that included racist (Martin is half black and Incognito routinely called him the N-Word) and misogynistic stuff that included his mother. That is what got Incognito suspended, not the word bullying. We need to stop sane washing Incognitos actions here because in Martins personal opinion it wasn’t bullying -

my last locker room was in 1998 and my football team went undefeated for the first time in program history and we made the district playoffs. Great great team. yes we joked about each others moms and ***** like. We NEVER would degrade each other like Incognito and his boys would do. Ask Josh Allen what he thinks about that. Yes Martin participated some in that, but it’s because he felt he was forced to, in order to fit in and be accepted. That’s part of being bullied. I despise the concept of “being soft” because we show emotion as humans and we don’t like being attacked in personal ways. Putting down others in order to make yourself feel good is a sign of extreme lack of self confidence. Allowing others to bully you in order to be seen as part of the group is also a sign of insecurity. In my mind both Incognito and Martin both showed a ton of insecurity, but the difference is that Incognito acted out in a wholly malignant manner while Martin acted out reactively to that -

Don’t think Martin is garbage. But rather someone who has his own mental health issues to work through, with a high IQ that just makes things even more chaotic -

To be clear Martin didn’t fabricate anything. Incognito did everything he was accused of, what Martin regrets is calling it bullying and cooperating with the investigation. In that same article Martin says what Incognito did was very wrong and wished he’d stood up to him. read the article. It’s an interesting read. There is little defending Incognito. Heck if nothing else read the text msg that Incognito sent out There was nothing fake about it . this isn’t junctions boys eras. You don’t speak to people the way Incognito did -
Beane’s picks: 2018 1st - Josh Allen: god tier pick 1st - Tremaine Edmunds: great pick 2019 1st - Ed Oliver: Great pick 2nd - Cody Ford: Bust 2020 1st - Stefon Diggs: elite tier 2nd - AJ Epenesa: good pick (consider the round) 2021 1st - GR: Good pick (he’s been productive and will earn a good contract. He’s good for picking at the end of the first) 2nd - Boogie Basham - Bust 2022 - 1st - Elam: Bust 2nd Cook: God tier pick 2023 1st - Kincaid: Good pick 2nd - Torrance: Elite Tier for 2nd round 2024 - TBD 3 busts in Boogie, Ford and Elam. The rest are good to God tier. Considering where the bills draft this is likely among the very best in the NFL. And the lower in the draft you go the better it is. Beane is in elite company as a drafter

The Eagles beat the Chiefs by doing the opposite of the Bills
appoo replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
So we’re just inventing reasons to attack McDermott at this point -
3-4 weeks ago I had the Eagles in mind as the team to beat because of that blue chippers playing well on D and all them WRs and Hurts being the perfect with Saquon and good enough passing ability. Making the SB would have been a SB for me. I think the Bills would have loist by like 10 or so but made it fun into the 4th quarter

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
appoo replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
Then they wouldn't have added all that dead cap for this season. If the FO through they had a legit shot at winning a SB they wouldn't have traded Stefon Diggs. The defense did better than expected, and Joe Brady and Allen turned in MVP seasons to drag this offense into being elite with 4 blue chip players in the two tackles, a RB and Josh having an MVP season. Keon was drafted becausde he could help this team make a super bowl in Year 2 and beyond -

Where does the bills netting a 3rd rounder come into play in all of this? Getting a development pick where you thought you’d be have a maybe a borderline playoff roster? -

Also keep in mind Worthy is likely not going to be a different player than he is right now. He will never be able to consistently win against physical coverage, he’s not gonna get more jitter buggy. He won’t get faster. Keon Coleman on the other hand is just getting started. He will get better against physical coverage, he is going to get more explosive with a professional strength & condition and nutrition program. He’s going to be able play inside/outside, on and off the ball. If you’re mad at the bills not getting Worthy then you’re made at the Bills playing Khalil Shakir over Xavier Worthy -

What do you remember Travis Kelce doing on Sunday? Also how many teams keep 3 linebackers on the field more than 30% of the snaps? -

Seems that people aren't ready to realize the offense for the Chiefs is gonna go freakin 07 Pats bonkers. Not only will they get Rashee Rice back to go along with Hollywood Brown and Worthy, but they're gonna solve their LT problem and have enough cap space to sign someone like Tee Higgins. -

To me the final 4th down play was the straw that broke the camels back. Much more important was that ***** 4th down play, and a whole bunch of plays the Chiefs had on offense. That's what made the Bills lose. Not a single 4th down play where Spags pushed all his marbles into a single blitz (which is kinda insane honestly, if the Bills had the right personnel and play, that's a ***** TD) -

There's no good reason the Bills had for predicting this. Spagnula did the equivelent of sacrificing his own Queen for this to work in the end. -

There is literally no way Josh could have flipped hips INTO free rushers and made that play to Shakir - especially when Shakir wasn't the 1st or maybe even 2nd read. There wasn't a hot route available to Josh on the play because it was on the WRONG SIDE. They tricked Allen into shifting his protection left because all seaosn and even all game they showed simulated pressure from one side while bringing pressure from the other. And keep in mind Allen was sacked just once, they weren't really getting to him, so Spags INTENTIONALLY sacfrificed pressure and maybe even points just in case so had this blitz available to him. -

Do people not watch football outside of the Bills? What Cyrus was talking about happens all the time. Heck we probably did it to the Chiefs during the game itself. We had played where Brady set up and eventually outschemed Spags. The problem here is that Spagnulo managed to trick Josh Allen on a high leverage play, and you just give credit to Spags for that. Like how the hell are you supposed to predict that the Chiefs will do something they hadn't done all season for the most part? And what's not said here is that the Chiefs have better players on offense than the Bills do on defense, and if you want to keep attacking Brady just remember that the Bills put up 29 points on an elite defense while the defense forced exactly 0 3 and outs, 2 punts, and one lucky turnover where Mahomes literally just dropped it. -

Calls for an investigation on Bills for Christian Benford's concussion
appoo replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Which is why neither player nor team trainer is in charge of clearing someone from concussion protocol -
You want to play Ras Douglas, Benford, Hamlin, Rapp, the rookie safety, and Taron Johnson in an aggressive man scheme similar to the Chiefs? None of whom run unnder a 4.6? Well I guess Johnson might be a 4.5 guy. More importnalty we played a lot of matchup zone, where we aligned zone, but once a player went into that zone, the DB then played him in a way that looked like man. You can do that when you had a healthy Tre White and Christian Benford as the team did heading into last season. Quite simply Damar Hamlin does not have the range to play deep safety in this league, and he was forced into that spot because of Rapp's injury. Hamlin can play box safety in this league. But not deep.
