If the Bills both gave up a 2nd rounder and paid this man 30M a year then I'd be pissed. Because it means the Bills would be stuck with GR as their best pass rusher, and would have to rely on a pretty low level FA for a corner back.

GR is one of the best run defending DEs in the league while a good but not great pass rusher (who might yet still get to great). The bills lowered their cap number and kept him. in a world where beane traded him for draft picks, how would this game out in the bills being better both when combining both onfield impact and cap health? There’s not a player the Bills could get in the draft that would be even close to as good as GR in run defending - or likely pass rusher considering where they draft

He’s only a good pass rusher but he’s an elite run defending DE. You put him opposite a legit pass rushing DE that’s a tier better than AJE and that’s a great bookend set

In this case it seems there’s a lot more that we don’t know than do know. These domestic issues can be very very ugly - and complex.

He's going to have a really good market because there's no more guarenteed mooney left, just the void years for his already paid bonus which stays with Seattle. He's 28 so has a few prime years left so I could see a 3rd rounder (and he'd want the team to extend him)

The Giants didn't value Saquon and the Eagles got him at a bit of a bargain (his cap hit was 3.5M) They got a career year out of Mekhi Becton which absolutely no one would have predicted Josh Sweat was drafted by the Eagles in 2018, never did enough to earn on a big time extension, got a 1 year contract this season and had a career year. Zach Baun was a journey pickup who turned in all-pro season They drafted guys like Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Milton Williams, not to mention Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Sure it's good cap management, but there;s a lot of great drafting + luck
