One of these are DK Metcalf. The other is AJ Brown. It’s wildly subjective. Also Keon was a very different player pre injury (one of the 3 best rookie WRs and actually a pretty good ranking WR in general) when going by EPA (by far the most accepted and respected advanced stat around) vs post injury. He acknowledged that, Beane acknowledged that, McDermott did…he’s 21. He’ll be good

That’s all true but elite is a subjective question and even if I’m wrong, where did I say buffalo is remotely as talented as the Eagles roster? And also Saquon and Carter were drafted in places where the bills never draft. Davonte Smith is as a top 10 dude. If you’re gonna call Mailata “elite” then why wouldn’t you call Dion Dawkins elite? I mean this team has averaged something like 12 wins for 5 years now and have won a playoff game in each of those years. They’ve been a model of consistently being great. EVEN THEN - I’m acknowledging that the bills defense is pretty lacking in top end talent other than Oliver (who when he’s on is an excellent 3T and one of the best in the game) Michigan doesn’t have a QB yet, and still need to show it can get anything out of the perimeter player. We‘ll see if the transfer kid can do it, because if Underwood is starting that game it’s a problem. But you can bet their defense should be nasty

I wasn’t saying that to defend the Bills. Buffalo has an above average roster who’s coaches and Josh Allen and oline managed to turn it into a great team that played well beyond its talent. I like Beane but I have some doubt with him in how he’s managed the defensive side of the roster. But I also don’t have an issue with a lack of “elite” players, because they’re consistently drafting after the 25th pick and to get elite players there is basically crap shoot

McDuffie, AJ Brown, and Carter.
-
You and I have very different definitions of elite
-
How many “elite” players are in the league? 25? Why is there an expectation that the bills have more than 1? Like the chiefs and eagles may have 2?

If there’s any hot garbage, it’s amateurs trying to get famous for grading players without knowing the play or philosophy. theres a reason why even people like Ben Johnson cite numbers like EPA, because it’s cold hard objective fact, and one of the most robust metrics we have in terms of holding up to context

This is about a week prior to his injury https://www.si.com/nfl/nfl-rookie-watch-top-10-keon-coleman-continues-to-break-through-in-buffalo https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2024/10/30/24283326/keon-coleman-buffalo-bills-rookie-breakout-analysis-blocking Over the last two weeks Coleman is averaging 0.66 EPA per target when lined up on the outside, good for ninth in the NFL with a minimum of five targets when lined up out wide
-
this is about 2 weeks before his injury
-
I’ve watched him plenty, I know people might disagree - but other than than raw arm strength he’s either great or borderline great at everything else

That’s because Lawrence and Tua shouldn’t be getting Brock money. That team probably wins a Super Bowl in Brock’s first year and almost knocked the chiefs off with Brock playing well in a Super Bowl. the goal is the Super Bowl and we know for a fact that Brock can help get you there. cant say that about Lawrence or Tua

Eh seperation is a bit different in the NFL than college. It's more about giving a QB windows. You don't see all that much seperation in this league

Derrick Henry gets 2 year $30m Dollar Extension ($25m guaranteed).

One thing I'll say about Kincaid and the offense is that I think the brain trust was more grounded on offense this past season to protect the defense. Buffalo had the 7th least passing attempts, 9th most rushing attempts. They had the 18th most passing 1st downs, and 6th most rushing 1st downs. They actually have explosive passing metrics (YPR, number of big plays, etc) but I think many of those were sort of manufactured from Josh being Josh. This year, with a significantly more talented DLine and secondary, healthy Milano, I think the Bills are gonna more risk friendly on offense, and thay should help the numbers of folks like Kincaid
-
Keon's advanced metrics are actually fairly good. I'm on the fence with Kincaid - not because of his size - but because I thought he'd be a bit more explosive in and out of his routes

Can the Bills just GIVE the Ravens 7 so we don't have to actually watch Henry run for a 70 yarder against Buffalo? Nah this is Derrick Henry, super human bionic man. I won't believe he's not a cyborg until I see evidence otherwise -
How do the Bills expect me to objectively critical of the team, players and coaches when they force me to see players as human beings to root for
-
Fun fact. Cook and Davis were born less than 2 months apart
-
Prather isn't going to be on the 54 so he wouldn't be competing Davis anyways
-
The reason I’d consider Gabe is that when healthy (which is a big if), he brings one very specific skill set that the the WR kinda lacks - downfield route running and body control to be a deep threat. Bills won’t ask him to be the general 2nd option in the route trees, instead he’ll fill a very specific set of routes and generally act as the deep read on the field

It’s (Gonna Be) May my dude.

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

Can’t control the Dad, and can’t attribute that to the kid. However the Bills locker room and leadership in that locker room isn’t gonna put up with that, so if the bills take him that’s good enough for me -
Defense was pretty much intentionally handicapped for salary cap purposes. Last years team played well beyond its talent base and likely surprised Beane and Co. This year they got blue chip talent and upgraded talent at a bunch of different spots on defense
