  1. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills if you classify McDermott as ***** "at least average"
  2. Going back to the earlier discussion...if you've ever played the game in pads, then you know that kind of hit is always a possibility, and you either accept or you quit. As a WR/RB you also know that you're going to get hit, period. Part of the game, and you know you gotta stretch out no matter what, and you also know that every QB is occasionally going to throw that kind of ball. If you want to blame someone, blame the sport in general.
  3. They’re not because the Ravens have two great TEs, a pair of really good WRs (assuming Zay Flowers is healthy) and a QB who’s faster than any backer in the league while ALSO being absolutely deadly from the pocket They’re gonna need Taron Johnson and Matt Milano and Terel Bernard to have the best takes of their lives
  4. Yup! I mean we got Lamar Jackson coming up here next weekend. If he’s zoning out then we don’t have a hope in hell of containing him, and there’s not a defense in the league that can, I don’t care how good you are at scheming. At that point you’re just hoping Josh Allen is on one and you just create an 1-2 openings that you capitalize on, and the ravens defense is gonna hope for the same thing
  5. Let me ask this question. This bills skill weapons, we have two of the best at their position in Shakir and Cook. Everyone else is probably good at best, with maybe the best set tackles in the league. So there’s good talent there. Given that, when Josh Allen is playing well is there a scheme or defense in the entire league that contain or even slow down much less stop that offense? Why is there an expectation that when you have talented offenses led by HOF level QBs who are playing well, that McDermott should have a scheme capable of containing or even slow down much less stopping them? In the playoffs against great offenses, the barometer is not going to be how well you stop them. It’s if you can create the occasional opportunities to create an opening for your own HOF QB to take advantage of. A punt here and there, stopping them for FGs, a rare turnover…that’s what you hope for.
  6. If you think the bills defense failed against the chiefs this past season, that’s a you issue and not a McDermott issue
  7. Like yall attacking McDermott. So why not Beane when he’s signed exactly one all pro type of talent through free agency? Almost exclusively this defense has been developed by McDermott and his staff, and rarely gotten standout performers through free agency. Von was the only big time signing or trade for this defense. Everyone else has been a role player outside the draft. And yet the Bills D has been perhaps the most consistently good for about 7-8 years now
  8. Any asshat coach can get lucky with their talent and have a great year. Elite coaches have runs that McDermott has had since coming to Buffalo
  9. He’s already over and well beyond the hump. There is no hump to overcome. Hes proven himself to be a great coach. You measure NFL coaches on longevity of success more so random luck with injuries and how they do against Hall of Fame talent in single games
  10. And? He doesn’t design the offense and he doesn’t create the offensive philosophy. Having an MVP talented QB does not guarantee 14 wins. plus that defense doesn’t have a single blue chipper that you’d expect to push into the first all pro team year in year out. Yet when healthy they’ve been effective this season
  11. Getting this current roster to 14 wins is some hall of fame *****. They are easily outplaying their talent level this season and this man continues to get attacked and fired by fans. You can give him the Andy Reid/Mike Tomlin lifetime contract at this point IMO
  12. the bills literally a walking MASH unit against cinncy and were bad on both sides of the ball that game with an exhausted team. I think my problem with this stuff is yall forget there’s another team out there. Joe Burrow - in that game - had Tee Higgins, Chase, one of the best slots in the league really good RB and a. Good TE…and again a future hall of fame QB. But your expectation is for Sean McDermott to stop that offense? With bunch of backups? Or stop Mahomes and Andy Reid and Travis Kelce and Tyreke hill when they go GOAT mode? And ACTUALLY containing Mahomes and Andy reid while literally pulling dudes off the street to start at linebacker? Its combination of hugely unfair expectations, refusing to see the larger story, and then not even appreciating what happens in a game. Like last year the Bills D put Allen in a position to win at the end.
  13. Also, Apparently Sean McDermott is the only coach to have his defense struggle with Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow
  14. Some legendary spelling here
  15. Keon is there to make contested catches, with Surtain the Broncos generally don't move him around, but rahter just take away whatever part of the field he works on. Gonna be an interesting chess match up which I think gets adjustments drive to drive All the metrics suggest otherwise, but this is also why they play the game. I think the Bills ends up winning 24 - 10 or something like that
  16. Can see this turning into a bit of a slog as the Broncos have an EXCELLENT defense and have the potential to smother Buffalo's WRs
  17. He was going up against Riq Woolen a in some of those highlites, including the TD
  18. When you draft a WR in the first round, this is basically what you're looking for. Keep in mind the Hawks have a VERY good secondary. I dunno where the narrative in this thread for Coleman comes from.
  19. two very different upsides. Ladd isn't there to win contested catches, will run different routes, and also he's 2.5 years older
  20. There is literally, definitively, absolutely, no reason to be dissappointed in Keon Coleman's rookie year. First of all he got illegally jacked up by Jordan Poyer half way through the season, missing a bunch of time, and likely messing with his WR mechanics because of that forearm injury, and it was timed perfectly with when he was REALLY ascending into the WR1 for this team. Second of all, he's been able to legally drink for 7 months Third, he wasn't a high first rounder. He wasn't even a first rounder at all. Fourth, he's already a borderline elite blocker at WR Finally, he's flashed plenty of mid first round talent and has shown not only potential to be a real weapon in this league, but has literally actually done it.
  21. Funny, I booked a hotel in downtown Buffalo 2 weeks ago (I live in Cali and want to watch this *potential* game among Bills fans)
  22. Absolutely no one in the building will say this but I gotta imagine pretty close to 100% of 1BD is super happy to be avoiding Joe Burrow
  23. As someone who loves both kinds of football I dig it. And I especially love the Lions game as the prime example when you had you RB3 making down field explosive plays...in the pass game
  24. only if you're into manufcaturing reasons to be concerned.
  25. How did Goff even throw that ball
