  1. McDermott has won 65% of his games!!!!!! You’re acting like he’s got a losing record
  2. To be clear, the Bills have lost 6, 3, 6, 3 games the last 4 seasons. You can not claim a pattern of losing when you win 10, 13, 10, and 13 games. This season is clearly an anomaly and if your ague that it’s an argument against reality. McDermott wins football games. The question is really about what he can do against superior football teams with superior talent. That’s basically where he comes up short over his history in Buffalo. Can he get over the hump and have the bills win games against superior talent? Unlikely. That’s also true of 99% of the coaches out there. Almost every year we end up with a Super Bowl winner that’s either the most talented, or near the most talented with enough great combos to overcome any talent deficiencies. There’s only 3 coaches whom I think can be one of those coach combos. Andy Reid, Kyle Shannahan and Sean McVay. What you’re basically saying is there’s a coach out there who’s gonna lead the bills past Reid and Mahomes without having the best roster in the NFL? Or even Joe Burrow when your roster is a shell of its regular season self? Because thats the upgrade to McDermott
  3. Like do people want McDermott fired because they’re frustrated or because they think McDermott lost control of his roster, lost the ability to game plan with his coordinators or because kneeled with 20 seconds left? No. Not remotely close. I think he’s managing Diggs perfectly This is out there folks: https://x.com/rapsheet/status/1729148681402855828?s=46&t=b_6DEUCIOVykcHVZYqq8jg be careful with what you’re asking for. You might just get it. Enjoy your week
  4. Want to make a change? Ask McDermott to hire a DC who’ll end up being the head coach of the defense. Mostly McD has been excellent as a play caller but hey have at that
  5. No this is me wanting the bills to win a SB. There’s a lot more bad coaches than there are good coaches. Th is I’ve learned from being a football sicko - both college and NFL - for decades now. Ousting a legit good coach when he hasn’t lost his locker room and hasn’t stopped being willing to make big changes (such as firing his OC mid season), is a massive risk that I don’t think will pay off
  6. I’ve been a fan since I moved to Buffalo as a 2 year old….in 1981. I’ve been through basically all of it
  7. What would you expect differently out of a different coach with this specific roster and injury situation?
  8. Yes because all NFL coaches will win without some kid of elite talent either at QB or at every where else on the roster
  9. Its scheme and depth. The bills D will always fade in the 2nd half because they have almost no depth any more. They do well in the first half because McDermott has just enough fresh talent at the right spots to get stops. Lqte 3rd and 4th and OT the Bills pass rush turned completely non existent because of that lack of depth and other pieces. For example they don’t have a good blitzing backer without Milano. That matters. Eventually McDermott turns desperate with his blitzes which is why you suddenly crazy plays like playing cover 0 in the red zone
  10. Yea this ain’t about MvDermott the human being or moral victories. Want to know what makes a coach a great coach in the NFL? It’s not Xs and Os. That happens your coordinators. It’s not player development. That happens with your S&C program and position coaches. It’s their ability to hire good coaches and then manage a locker room of multi-millionaires with massive amount of diversity in personality and backgrounds, and getting them to actually give a crap about each other and getting on the same page and sacrificing for each other. I mean the reason the Bills have Diggs is because that Head Coach COULDNT do that in Minnesota And yea game management matters and McDwrmott actually struggle some with that, but he’s not that far off from most teams in the league - all fam bases seem to hate this about their coach. This is purely practical. The odds of the Bills UPGRADING McDemott are not great. The odds of them getting worse is much higher. Ive gotten used to winning with Buffalo. I’ve seen engines coaches in the NFL over 35 years to risk that crap when I know the coach here is enough to get the bills where they need to go with a good roster
  11. so does McDermott get full credit for Josh Allen in your world? And all the other hits from the draft? Or just the ones that don’t immediately pan out well?
  12. Reality is that pretty much every other coach in the NFL has the Bills pretty much where they are, maybe 1-2 wins more. The majority of coaches would have a sub 500 record with this roster
  13. Beane much moreso than McDermott. Even then Beane and McDermott don’t control injuries. And the primary issue has been injuries to the D, and then of course Dorsey struggling I wasn’t happy with the loss. I am fairly angry at the entitlement and treatment of McDermott. Mostly at the entitlement honestly
  14. I didn’t like his kneeling either. What are the odds the Bills score if they go for it?
  15. Because the rookie doesn’t know how to play football. Cards McDermott was dealt
  16. He took Tyrod Taylor to 9 wins and the playoffs man
  17. Nah I ain’t taking moral victors, I’m taking actual ball. The bills are not a talented football team. Their defense is bottom 15 in terms of talent. The WR corps is probably bottom 10. How is it possible for the Bills be this under talented and yet still some games like they did against the Dolphins and yes against the Eagles? could it be that McDermott and Allen actually have this team playing better than it’s talent levels at this point?
  18. with what talent on defense should the Bills be doing this? You’re essentially blaming McDermott for being good enough to get this duct defense to play well enough to keep the bills in games. Dodson was spying Hurts. DODSON. That is the level of injuries and roster McDermott was handed. Against a top 3 offense in the NFL.
  19. While having a huge chunk of their salary cap on IR or basically washed whole fighting the refs in a horrifically officiated game while at a decided talent disadvantage on both sides of the ball on the road and y’all want to fire the head coach who’s has had nothing but 10+ win seasons for like 4 years in a row now? It took the Eagles kicking a SIXTY YARD FG IN THE RAIN to get to OT. The Eagles had a better DVOA than the Bills. There was no reasonable analysis that had the Bills winning this football game before the snap. Literally demanding the HC be fired for EXCEEDING expectations Nah this ain’t it
  20. if these players aren’t taking some ownership of Dorsey getting fired - most certainly including one Josh Allen - then the whole lot of them need to be shipped off to Siberia
  21. we’ve all been following the Beane and McDermott relationship right? It actually feels like one of the best in the NFL. Beane’s primary job is to get players needed to fulfill a vision of winning a Super Bowl based on certain base concepts of what you want your defense and offense to look like. McDermotts job is to execute that vision with the players he’s provided by specifically setting schemes on both sides of the ball, while filling out his coaching staff to help him get there. The reality is these two men influence each other greatly and I doubt much big picture stuff happens without them collaborating. While Beane will have final say on player personnel and contracts, and McDermott has final say on his coaches and how he uses those players, this isn’t done in a vacuum. With Dorse, that’s McDermotts decision, but I gotta imagine he talked it over with Beane before making a final choice. But all in all this seems like a really great relationship and one isn’t gonna disrespect the other in terms of overstepping responsibilities in a vacuum
  22. You just changed your goal posts from playoffs to regular season
  23. I am a Penn State guy the and less I have to think about John Butler the happier I am. (also Taron Johnson should be mad at bow badly he got beat off the LOS not the DPI call. Hell don’t even blame McDermott. That’s a big legged kicker. Get them ALL the way out. Taron Johnson should know the only way he gets beat in 2 seconds in a cover 0 is over the top. Like it is unfathomable he gets off the LOS in that situation)
  24. Also, wouldn’t go too far with Allen being a problem: https://x.com/davemyersbib/status/1724459444514456011?s=46&t=b_6DEUCIOVykcHVZYqq8jg
