  1. I think Frazier is entirely too conservative to be a HC. If this was 1986 or so, maybe. Not now. That said, I think Frazier is the perfect compliment to run what McD has constructed on the defense, and mentioned that earlier up the thread.
  2. It's just easier to blame the refs than admitting that the offense stunk, per usual, and the defense resembled a pre-season game...very vanilla. Ironically, the next week the Dolphins beat NE in Foxboro.
  3. Great thread @Buffalo716 as it explains McDermott's defense and his tendencies that most of us don't get to see. I was curious as to the Frazier and McDermott relationship, though I think I see how they work together. I suspect that Frazier might be the perfect DC for McD since he knows situational football and buys into the plan, yet doesn't have a set preference like a Jim Schwartz or Rex (for example) would.
  4. Ok, kind of what I suspected. Frazier buys into what McD is doing and is coming up to speed on it, which probably means the defense isn't yet as good as it can be. I do think that Frazier is reluctant to blitz and stunt, where McD would do more of this as evidenced by the Charger game in 2017 where McD took over the defensive play calling. I get that this defense is more secondary-centric, though an active front that puts pressure on the opposing QB will go a long way to helping the secondary.
  5. How much of a role does Frazier play, besides the obvious that he is the DC? This is McD's architected defense, but McD doesn't want to be the DC, at least not on game day. Is Frazier just McD's proxy or does he have more of an input?
  6. Carolina. The OP mentions this, but states the defense is still the same as what McD runs at Buffalo today.
  7. Deserves? No, he doesn't deserve another chance. Will he get another chance? Depends on what team needs a big back and no better options are available. Won't be with Buffalo.
  8. I'd say about 75% of Bills fans who were cognizant of the Bills vs Dolphins rivalry during the Kelly/Marino era. This is most likely due to not letting their hatred of the Dolphins go, rather than doing a rational analysis of the two QBs.
  9. I'm not knocking them, they have potential. The story is far from finished. Let's hope they evolve into something great and win a SB, including with Ed Oliver.
  10. looks like you carved out Bills' Mt. Hopemore, which is down range from Bills' Mt. Rushmore
  11. The northeastern quadrant of New Jersey needs to be burned. You are right, it is totally disgusting. Newark is like a city of mutants.
  12. Joe Ferguson, Aaron Schobel, Brian Moorman, Conrad Dobler
  13. I guess just as long as Marty Lyons is left off. I remember Gastineau and Lyons hated each other. Gastineau referred to Lyons as a "piglette," IIRC.
  14. Zack Moss is pulling an Eli Manning, he wants to play for Miami...warm weather, close to home. I'm kidding. Every year one of the rookies lags in signing. He will sign soon enough; I wouldn't worry about it.
  15. Klecko over Mark Gastineau? Both were good, the other possibility is Gastineau over Curtis Martin. They wouldn't have beat the Redskins or '93 Cowboys, both were complete teams. But you make a good point about having Marino, who was a better QB than Kelly, just not as tough. Marino seemed to make better QB decisions and was a better passer. Not a popular opinion/observation, but a valid one, IMO.
  16. You look absolutely adorable in that picture ?
  17. I went with 10-6, but could be 11-5. Either way, the Bills should win the AFCE. Anything less is underachieving.
  18. By the third prime time game people won't care any more and the ratings will suck like Brady and the Bucs.
  19. So if Knox needs to develop, he's not elite...correct? I like Knox, he has a lot of potential, but that is all it is right now, potential with a high ceiling. Same with Josh. You can't call Josh elite, because he's not; at this point he is an athletic QB with a high ceiling.
  20. 1990-1991 teams would crush the 2020 team. The '90 and '91 teams were VERY good teams
  21. The Pats will be competitive (9-7 or so) but will not be dominant. They'll rely on their defense to keep games close and and offense just good enough to beat marginally good teams. No reason why the Bills can't sweep them. Belichick doesn't know how to tank, so that is off the table. But no, they won't be good.
  22. He's not going to do it if last season was any indication. Gore struggled to gain tough yards, he's just not strong or fast enough at this point.
  23. Well, he was right. Buffalo was definitely not the right environment for EJ, who had no chance of succeeding here, especially as a starter. I'm a little surprised at the number of coaches who warned on their former players as you and others in this thread have pointed out.
