Doesn’t make sense having that spot tied up with Peterman when they’ve drafted someone like neal who is versatile and can play multiple positions. WRT to Washington, he didn’t have a great year last year but then the Bills had nobody at the 1T to occupy blockers. Kyle didn’t have an amazing year at the 3T either, they needed guys like Star and Phillips. Im actually hoping they bring Shaq inside on 3rd downs.

I actually think if Allen wins the back up job Nate Peterman could get cut or at the very least be put on the practice squad. McDermott will want that extra spot for a STer.

To be fair to him, he is a former Vandy QB and played the position. That said, it is odd that he hasn’t coached QBs more in his careeer considering he used to be one.

How would I know at this point, without any of these players taking the field?

As I said I the “Please God Red Shirt Allen” thread it makes little to no sense to automatically red shirt Allen. Let him go through preseason and then make that decision. If he’s the best QB on the roster, then he deserves and should play.

Yup, it's the one thing I know McDermott can spot and coach up. Look at the turnaround in the Bills secondary last year.

That's all I'm saying, let the coaches evaluate him first. Lets see him play in the NFL first. You can't just go into the season with the mindset that he HAS to sit.

McDermott knows LBs and secondary guys, got a really good eye for them. I like both the secondary picks for sub package purposes, with Neal they can go a bit bigger in nickel or dime.

What if he beats out McCarron and Peterman, which is entirely possible? The Bills didn’t exactly go out and get a guy that he couldn’t beat out. They haven’t handed the job to McCarron or Peterman.
