  1. I'm glad there was a thread split... Some of the stuff discussed in here is not cool for those of us who haven't read the books.
  2. Reading is tough. Whoops.
  3. Aw, I can't make predictions?
  4. I can see it now... unless the Bills win the Superbowl next year, EJ will be a bust, because Wilson did it, so why can't EJ?
  5. Why answer it via PM? It's a good point of discussion for this thread. Is there any medical innovation in countries with single payer/universal healthcare systems?
  6. It really was too bad that he got injured against the Browns.
  7. Players can get injured anytime, I'm all for more games to get them more game time experience, it's more valuable than practice,
  8. Seriously, good for him. Hopefully he finds success there.
  9. His first two seasons as a backup. He struggled in preseason, if I remember correctly. And the few chances he got in the regular season, he was pretty bad. His third season as a backup he shined, and then the Packers felt comfortable parting ways with Favre.
  10. Rodgers simply sucked his first couple years. I actually remember some of it. Then his third year, he had a good game or two, then Favre left, and the rest is history. Frankly if we had a QB that did what Rodgers did the first two years, we would be running him out of town. It's difficult to predict when things will click for a QB. For the Packers, luckily it clicked for Rodgers just in time.
  11. Because unless a rookie QB takes an imperfect team to the playoffs, he's crap. Our defense lost us a few games last year, our o-line is crap, our TE and WRs are mediocre at best. Yet EJ, is expected to shoulder all that, and take the team to Superbowl glory.
  12. For those interested, his splits: http://espn.go.com/n...15803/ej-manuel To me, he performed well in 2 minute drills, not great in 4th quarters though. Played well at home, not on the road. Did not perform well on 3rd downs, but did ok on first two downs. Played well when tied, ok when behind, poorly when ahead. Played well in close games while behind, very poorly when very behind. This all reads, to me, as someone who's a rookie, personally. A lot of this stuff is mental/dealing with pressure. I have faith in his skills. But I'm not sold on the coaches that are in charge of his development, which is really depressing. --- Also, surprisingly, performed well against the blitz, but when he had to deal with better coverage, he struggled.
  13. EJ's 2 minute drill stats: CMP ATT YDS CMP% AVG LNG TD INT SACK RAT 27 40 231 67.5 5.78 23 3 0 1 107.4
  14. We judge most rookies as busts here on TBD, well before their first season is over.
  15. You know what I got out of that? Other than Williams being pretty good.... How much time Freeman had to throw the ball.
  16. You do know where you are, right?
  17. Did you hit your head?
  18. Looks like fans are mostly done with him already. Hm.
  19. If he had a competent coaching staff and oline, I think he'd flourish. Here? I have a feeling he'll be benched within the next two seasons.
  20. I was trying to reverse jinx it!
  21. Here we go QB controversy!
  22. Like the optimism, but... that basically guarantees two Ls for us
  23. I find it hard to predict much of a difference in the Bills record, personally. We lost Byrd, but picked up Spikes, and 3rd string CB. We picked up Williams on the other side, but we don't know what he's going to do. Our OLine is still a weakness. QB is still unknown. We probably downgraded as far as a DC goes. And Marrone/Hackett haven't really proven themselves. So I still see us as a bottom feeder for now. Too many question marks. That all being said. On paper, I like the moves we made in the off season so far. If EJ can get on the same page as his WRs. If the Oline can hold blocks. If Hackett can design plays to use CJ. If Marrone can manage a game. We could be a much improved team. But that's a lot of ifs, and basically all of them need to happen, so I keep my expectations low.
