  1. That guy had committed multiple crimes, and was deported before, no? To me, immigrant or not, he's purely a criminal.
  2. Sounds like a case of the vocal minority, then. Path to citizenship is really the only practical solution... most illegals are basically here to make a life for themselves, and that's about it... there's some that are problematic, and those people most definitely need to be deported, but thats not a whole lot different than citizens who obey the law, and those who commit other acts of crime. As far as securing the border... I have no real practical answer for that one. A wall, as discussed, is kinda dumb... you could throw more people at the problem, but when there's a will there's a way. Maybe the real solution is to better penalize those who employ illegals, to cut back on "demand". It's gonna be a tough problem as long as Mexico is "suffering" relative to its northern neighbors, though.
  3. FactCheck.org took a look at the whole thing: http://www.factcheck.org/2015/07/unspinning-the-planned-parenthood-video/
  4. Lobbying is a bipartisan problem, imo. (yes, I consider campaign financing through Super PACs and the like, the be lobbying)
  5. Gator should be in charge of "family values" and Very wide right should be in charge of "gay marriage".
  6. It's not? I was under the impression that Republicans were generally for stronger borders and deportation? I remember there being a lot of freak out when certain "paths to citizenship" were discussed in years past. If I'm mistaken, I have no problem admitting my error, not trying to sell misinformation. Which is fine and dandy, but sometimes existing laws don't fit current society.
  7. It's hard to sell the general public on the idea that all illegals are here to do bad things, and should face consequences. I'm actually surprised Republicans are holding on to it as a party platform, considering the increasing hispanic population.
  8. That's kinda what I was referring to originally.
  9. I'd like to respond to this with some facts, but I'm not really allowed to But, its not an argument I really care to have, because I think a wall is dumb. I'm just saying... we could afford it. The sacrifice would be insane, but we could do it. More wall, and more coast guard, duh.
  10. Difference... three of those people were killed by law enforcement/community representatives, one was killed by a criminal.
  11. While I don't support a wall, we could easily afford it if we cut from other parts of the government. I'm assuming the conservative answer would be to cut social programs, and the liberal answer would be to cut defense. (if both "sides" actually agreed to build a wall) The big expense would be how many people we'd need to maintain and secure said wall.
  12. You just jinxed us. Our entire OL is going to get season ending diarrhea from a severe case of IHOP food poisoning.
  13. There's also the little problem of Hilary having HUGE HUGE HUGE money on her side, and Sanders actively rejecting it (or so he says, I'm always cynical of that notion though).
  14. I think recaps from a few respected journalists are basically all I need, and that's where I'll attempt to put my mental energy haha
  15. My ideals line up with much of Bernie's. But I'm generally a results sort of person, so if a different solution gets me to a result I prefer then whatever works for me(for example: everyone able to afford healthcare, either through single payer, mandate, or everyone being stinking rich because the free market is that sweet).
  16. I'm stocking up on popcorn gifs. Sorry in advance.
  17. You know, I agree with all of this... But in the back of my Bills fan brain, I can't help but assume we're going to finish 6-10 because that's our luck
  18. For Jurassic World, I made sure to keep my expectations at "crappy story but fun dinosaur scenes", and basically got what I expected haha... Characters were so wooden and boring, but man... dino fights, fun times! Agreed on word of mouth for Ant-Man... it exceeds the trailers big time. I like that they took out a bit of the self deprecation bits from the trailers, because they came off as kinda tired and overplayed.
  19. I think most Presidents get too much credit (or blame), considering the power Congress has most of the time. But it's easier to look at one person, than it is a whole bunch of people.
  20. Quoting you, but responding to the general crowd... like I said, not at all a super serious poll, just based on the early leaders in both parties. I'm sure the top 4 will change when we get closer to primaries, and I'll do another poll then
  21. Sanders supporter here... Hillary is not someone I trust in the slightest.
  22. Fully agree. If our OL gels, that means our run game will be good, and that will mean whatever QB that wins should have enough time to not make too many bone headed mistakes. At the very least we *should* have an average offense if our OL performs well.
