  1. So true it hurts. The drop off in the entire league after Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu is immense. Also, looking at those 2 players recent injury histories, a new argument can be made about how much a top safety is really worth when consider how many games they actually play in after they sign their first veteran contract versus the guarenteed money that is invested. The great safeties out there start breaking down after about 5 years. The Steelers and Ravens have not gotten their money's worth from these guys for a few seasons now and will continue to lose on those investments.
  2. Thank you for being an optimistic Bills fan. Keep it up brother. Go BILLS!!!!!!!
  3. I agree about Williams. I truly love the guy, but putting him in a 5-technique is setting him and the defense up for failure.
  4. You forgot that this is also the era of injuries. Hopefully Julio doesn't get injured this season. In a way that would be like drafting 5 players and having them all injured at the same time based on what they gave away to get him. I am not saying that it was a bad move, but we will know how smart this move really was come playoff time.
  5. It has been a while hasn't it?
  6. That has nothing to do with anything I asked. It had to with them facing each other on the practice field. I am talking about where winning and losing truly begins.
  7. I would love to get some opinions on something none of us here ever talks about. How building our defense will help in developing our offense. Our offense, more emphasis on O-line here, faces our defense more so than our opponents combined each year on the practice field. Well what kind of competition is that? For 5 years they have faced a slow, undersized, nonphysical Tampa-2 with no playmakers. I ask you, if you believe that we did in fact get bigger and nastier on defense, will that translate into help anyone on the O-line stepping up their game through attrition? Will getting better at run D help our run O? Will it lead to better evaluations of our offensive personnel as a whole before the season starts?
  8. I would sign Florance and trade McGee for anything I could get next year. Even if McGee has a great season I would still trade him, it would only increase his value anyway. There is just no way that this guy has even 2 full seasons left in him. One more year and do a little Belickeckin.
  9. He looks like Pluto to me.
  10. I would be down with any exchange of picks and/or players, but I would not give up any picks for the following year's draft.
  11. Nostradumbass. That name makes sense now.
  12. Rich is clearly a man of great insight.
  13. Maybin is a bust at DE. Even North Korea knows it. What I find interesting is that defensive alignment wise, he was barely used as a straight up 3-4 LB, and when he did Stroud was the DE on his side. All I am really saying is that I am anxious to see what he does in that role this year, being as this is certain to be his last opportunity with the Buffalo Bills.
  14. It seems that the premise of this whole evaluation is based on their belief that there were FRANCHISE QBs that were available. Since I disagree with that, I am quite happy right now.
  15. I am glad that you brought up Wanny. When I think of our run D last year, not all but most of the big run plays came when we were forced to go Nickel due to the offensive personnel. I think that it is telling what Nix/Gailey said repeatedly in terms of how alot of these guys fit in our Nickel package in terms of run defense. Our 2nd round pick has Nickel back written all over him. Our 4 man front in the Nickel should be formidable against the run this year. Who catches my drift? Darius and Williams will demand 3 to 4 blockers when playing the 4 man front together.
  16. All I know is that this draft really puts in perspective last years draft. This just might be the year that our defense starts pushing people backwards for a change. One thing that I have noticed over the years is that any line, O or D, that gets knocked off the ball most of the time will ultimately fall to injury. When huge strong men are being physically overmatched while being driven backwards, muscles, tendons, and cartilage really get torn up. But when you see a unit imposing their will, they generally stay healthier through the season. How many times have we watched one of our lineman go down because the overmatched guy next to him fell into his legs. Straight dominoes gentlemen.
  17. THere is a major problem with your interpretation. We are drafting people not positions. You say that we didn't get aTE,LT, or QB. Well that is some ambiguous nonsense. Which specific players did you want to fill these needs and when in the draft in hindsight would you have taken them at the expense of something else. Your assumption that they may not have a plan going into free agency is ridiculous.
  18. I think we have a winner.
  19. I think you know what you have to do.
  20. I like your optimism. If we get a pass rush going, I think his lack of speed will be mitigated.
  21. That's actually a really cool photo.
  22. What are you saying?
  23. Is this Classy Freddie Blassie?
  24. I don't have a twitter account nor have I ever twitted. You say to me to "show some class and ignore his childish tantrums" which I do. But why can't you show the same class in response to your fellow Bills fans. Donte chose to have a twitter account and engage with the fans directly through it. His lack of wisdom in doing that is indeed his own problem. Aim your need to call people classless elsewhere please. That is if you yourself have any class. PS, I said please.
  25. We all reap what we sow. If he enjoys what some believe to be the benefits of twitter, then he should also learn to accept it's drawbacks. All I ever wanted from the guy was to shut up and be the best player he could be. I fail to see how the fans are being classless. He had it coming.
