looks like he was offered the Falcons job with conditions and declined https://nypost.com/2024/02/05/sports/bill-belichick-turned-down-falcons-coaching-offer-boomer-esiason/

If Belichick, Carroll and Vrabel can't get jobs why should Bienemy? This round of hirings shows that owners are not willing to blow up their organization for just anyone not named Harbaugh. Bienemy will have to tutor a young quarterback to somewhere between competence and greatness for a return to relevance.

I admire a man who makes the most of his opportunities. Just read he also played for a time in the CFL. RIP Carl

Looks like Fangio and the Dolphins had an ugly split.

Whether it's the egomania of Jerry Jones, the perpetual adolescence of Dan Snyder or the ADHD of David Tepper, for all their supposed business acumen, these owners are a bunch of sheep following each other around by chasing the latest trend in coaching. They all want the next Sean McVay or Zac Taylor and by chasing the young guy trend they're going to end up with the next Nathaniel Hackett. Genius in making money never carries over into another thing. Watching arrogant know-it-alls fall on their face is one of life's great pleasures. When I see coordinators getting thrown under the bus, it's usually a sign that ownership isn't happy with something and demands a dead body to show they mean business. I thought the Dolphins defenders were a solid, hard playing unit and were a big reason why they made the playoffs. -

With the second overall pick, I'm sure the Commanders will turn their organizations around just like the Bears and Cardinals did. I will enjoy watching the Cowboys faceplant publicly without him next year.

Dalvin Cook was in and out of there long enough to be a source. I feel sorry for Zach Wilson after reading that. He was doomed from the start. How amazing is it that billionaires turn over the keys to the castle to children like Hackett? The guy has done nothing but ride the coat tails of Aaron Rodgers. -

Mahomes Hurts Burrow Allen Jackson Stroud Love Stafford Mayfield Watson Advancing in the playoffs has to mean something. Sorry but Rodgers, Wilson, Carr, and Cousins are done. Prescott and Herbert are one and done pretenders. Goff was carried by his team, not the other way around. -

He didn't come from a major football program. We've all eaten a lot of crow since then

He averaged 66 yards a game on the ground. He's a good player just not a threat that opponents have to game plan for.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – Reflections on the Conference Championship Games
stuvian replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think we fully appreciate how great a coach Andy Reid is. We just dismiss the Chiefs as Mahomes, Kelce and a bunch of guys. He serious outcoached Harbaugh. I still cannot believe that Lamar didn't attempt a major run when that is such a huge part of his game. The Chiefs D line schooled the Ravens O line badly. I didn't see that coming. It felt like the Lions coasted coming into the second half. Still for their first playoff appearance since the Stafford years they have a great nucleus, especially on the LOS. They've gone as far as Goff can take them. He's a game manager, nothing more. I like a gambler in a coach like Campbell. It doesn't always work but neither does sitting on a lead and playing turtle. His leadership shows in the way the Lions play. Their front office deserves credit for some solid very drafts as well. I agree about our DL rotation. We have quantity but no quality. We have no single player on defense that our opponent has to account for. Von Miller had Bradley Chubb and Aaron Donald to absorb some of the pressure on his previous Superbowl teams in Denver and LA. When he's the only threat he's no threat (unless you're his girlfriend ). I think McDermott got great performances out of our talent. We would be foolhardy to blow up the front office. The Bills and the Bengals are the only teams that can threaten the Chiefs. Having a great QB like Josh masks a lot of shortcomings that aren't apparent until you're up against a complete, elite team. I expect significant turnover on our roster next year.
