I think he is that fast... look how he creates separation from the defenders once he breaks the first tackle in this video: It should be cued up to 1:57 in, but if not, that's the play I'm talking about

Can Someone on the Left Explain
uncle flap replied to Chef Jim's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Just a theory... The left AND the right tolerate giving people money/means to live which prevents them from turning to crime to satisfy their needs. It might be considered a monetary loss, but a societal gain. Bread and Circuses, man. I don't mean societal gain as benefiting everyone evenly either. I'm talking the 1% keeping everyone else just comfy enough to stay stagnant. -
I wonder if Ralph gave carte blanche
uncle flap replied to bladiebla's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That isn't much different than what you just did. I read that netiquette paper before and it says in there like 100 times to just ignore stuff like that too. Anyway, I think you're on to something. I think Ralph has ceded a lot of control to Brandon and I think Brandon realizes winning makes it easier to sell tickets and make $. And I think in Ralph's advanced age they thoughts about his legacy became louder and more frequent. I don't think it was an overnight decision. I think this started around when DJ was fired and Ralph & Co. realized that not every NFL HC job is desirable despite the exclusivity. They probably realized their business model painted them into a corner and had to do everything in their power to show the rest of the league they weren't content being the joke of league. I'm glad Ralph seemingly took a step out of his comfort zone and was able to trust others after being burned in the past. Here's to Ralph bankrolling Buddy's baby!!! -
Buscaglia tweet suggests Fred's contract may be close?
uncle flap replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chris Trappasso tweeted the following: Giving this a try: I've just been told that the #Bills Fred Jackson signed a two-year, $8 million extension that can be more w/ incentives. https://twitter.com/#!/ChrisTrapasso/status/199525019867545600 -
Buscaglia tweet suggests Fred's contract may be close?
uncle flap replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that would be fair, but I don't know if that would qualify as outright "overpaying." I hope that Fred is reasonable and accepts a deal in that range, but if he is looking to be rewarded for past performance on the cheap that may not be enough. I don't think he would get much more if he was on the open market though, so it's tough to say. His base salary this year is $852,917 but his average is $5 million over course of the contract. NFL Salaries You can also see all NFL RB average and base salaries to try to figure what the rate for Fred might be. -

This is great news- for better or worse something will happen soon. If Fred and Buddy can't agree on a "fair" extension, I think we'll see Fred be dealt before training camp rather than be kept as a disgruntled back who will walk at the end of the year for nothing. That said, my gut tells me they'll work it out. I don't think Fred's agent would comment at all if he thought they won't be able to reach an agreement that keeps Fred here. PS Not to nitpick, but LaBoy is Stevie's agent. Ron Raccuia is Fred's. Buscaglia's story -
I won't try to sell you on Dixon, and though I'm a fan, I'd be hard pressed to explain what's so great about him. To take a second stab at your original question: Fans are interested because he's available, he's young, and doesn't have any baggage. His skill level and potential are debatable. He hasn't really had a shot in Pittsburgh as the third string QB. Yeah, he had some starts, but you have to imagine his development was somewhat stunted by taking reps as the third string QB for most of his career. I know the standard response would be, "Well, if he's so good, how come he didn't beat out Leftwich or Charlie Batch?" Well, I don't know. Maybe he truly isn't that good. But I know I liked him as a Duck, and it doesn't hurt the Bills to bring him in and kick the tires.

He was a pretty exciting player in college http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVaBNvp1Qd0

Pat Moran just saw Luke Russert's Mom drive Shawne Merriman over the border to pick up Roger Clemens's "doctor" and Mario's fiancee But seriously, his normal playing weight is like 290 so not like he "blew up"

Bills already a 6 point dog for week 1
uncle flap replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i was in vegas the weekend before last and threw some $ on the bills winning the afc championship at 22-1 odds. what really had me baffled was that the dolphins had better odds something like 17-1. -

It really is simple. Take Floyd (or Blackmon) at #10, or if someone wants to trade up for Barron or whomever, take Hill if Floyd and Blackmon are gone at the later slot. Maaaaybeeee, all these alleged leaks out of the Bills camp might be a sign that they're high on Hill, but don't want to be mocked (pardon the pun) for taking him ahead of Floyd/Blackmon. Maybe not. ARRGH I CANT WAIT FOR TOMORROW NIGHT

Floyd's "ceiling is through the roof" is one of the best-phrased metaphors I've heard in some time -
wouldn't Cox be more suited for the Offensive line?

I dont mean to be argumentative or say that you're wrong, because I could be way off here myself, but I interpreted those statements differently. I think the mentions of competition in different areas was less of an indicator of their perception of strength, but more an indicator of Nix and Whaley not wanting to throw any of their current players under the bus. Can you imagine if they sat at the presser and said, "Kirk Morrison sucks, so we HAVE to get an LB early to take over that spot," or "Do you guys really think we are okay with DAVID JONES goin out there opposite Stevie?" I'm not saying that they think those things, but I just interpreted the statements as more or less standard PC stuff. I do agree with you that Buddy seems to be clear that he wont reach for a need and pretty much any position is an option, but not based on those statements alone... arrgh! like I said in another thread, I want Floyd so I'm trying to construe everything to fit with Floyd being the pick

What's really most telling is that since I want them to take Floyd, anything they would've done would've signaled to me that he is their guy. -

Plus, IMO both Whaley and Nix (especially Whaley) were fighting to hide big smiles. -
Who's the guy with the accurate mocks?

Uhhh, yeah. The pictured jersey is a replica but the official authentic real life jerseys were made by Puma in the late 90s. And I have a red Reebok Riemersma jersey that I got the same day I got a white Moulds one (cuz they were out of red) in 2001. I remember bc it was for my birthday and I was moving overseas and missed that 3-13 season. I think the Bills have only worn the red during the preseason tho, anyone know for sure?
