Some of you guys with a good Madden 12 eye

Very funny. Try this: http://tecmobowl.org/2011/09/07/release-tecmo-super-bowl-2012/ or this one to play online: http://www.vizzed.com/play/tecmo-super-bowl-2k12-(drummers-2012-super-bowl)-nes-online-nintendo-nes-36496-game (you need Java installed/updated for this to work) If you are in online lobbies you can chat with your head sets, as well as if you are both in the franchise mode menus before you start your game. You can also start a chat from the xmb main menu ( like the PS3's desktop, not thru the game). If you are playing a game, however, you can't voice chat unless you are playing each other. -

You're right, I just looked it up Wish you could do that tho! I played COD a lot when it came out but I'm done til the next one comes out. I get NHL and FIFA every year too, along with some other stuff here and there, but Madden is my true love You can make trades that are reasonable, but if you really want to make whatever "trades" you want, you have to control all of the teams and cut and sign players to the teams you want. And in online franchise mode, you can only control one team at a time. You don't have to wait for him to play his game to advance the week, but then any unplayed games are simulated. So you can't play ahead while you wait for his game to be played. You follow the same schedule. -

Yep! I'm not 100% sure, but I'm almost positive you can load the rosters form the link above, then start your franchise with those rosters. If you wind up getting it and are having trouble figuring it out, I can give you step by step directions, just let me know. -

I believe you can use whatever rosters you want. Whoever sets up the franchise (the commissioner) just has to load the rosters that they want the league to use before they create the franchise. If they are different than what one of the other users has, when you start the game, it will update the rosters to whatever the commission had set when he created the franchise. -

Yes, you can create online franchises with your friends and play against each other. That is almost exclusively how I play. I like building a team about as much as I like playing the game itself. I don't think you can play co-op online in the franchise mode tho, if that is what you're asking. -
Post-Polian failure, and why Nix may be different
uncle flap replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want to take the time to do the research to see if the following is in fact true, but I have a theory. Players at those positions cost more than most other positions to re-sign once the player hits the open market in the prime of their careers. They also seemingly hit the wall at an earlier age than most other positions. So, economically, it would seem to make sense to draft these players early to get the best prospects and try to get some good years out of them while the cost is low, and not breaking the bank to re-sign them when they don't have many years left, even if they are in their prime at the time. My theory is that the Bills aren't the only team who have followed a model like that. I think the problem lies more in the production/talent of those players than the position they play(ed). Just playing Devil's advocate here. Personally, I think you should plan on every guy you draft as being a Bill for life. I agree that Nix is operating on a long term plan and isn't just making knee-jerk reactions like his predecessors seemingly were doing. If you draft a guy who is panning out for you, lock him up early and avoid the FA bidding war. However, it takes two to tango. Maybe Winfield or Clements were approached with reasonable deals, but turned them down knowing there was a huge payday on the horizon. I mentioned in another thread that unlike past regimes that have drafted to fill holes, Nix is being proactive. The example I used was that the Bills didn't pick Glenn because Bell left, they let Bell go because they planned on drafting an LT early. -
You are correct. And the other songs/chants that were mentioned above are also truncated to some extent. There's also some other snippets, like Washington's Hali to the Redskins, and even Miami has their stupid song. And some teams always play certain songs that aren't an original fight song, but for example when you play in Pittsburgh, they always play Zombie Nation. Also, I doubt they put any specific celebration for Stevie. I mean are they going to force you into a 15 yard penalty? It's not like he's done any of those celebrations more than once. I guess he could lift his shirt up, but what would they put on the undershirt? Maybe the "Buffalo Bounce" really takes off this year and they include it next year, but I think they've done away with the Lambeau Leap after including it a few years ago, so probably not likely.

Bills WR David Clowney tweets his HIV results
uncle flap replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those ailments aren't contagious. They also typically aren't associated with younger men. Here in Buffalo, Mike Robitaille is on the TV and radio encouraging prostate exams. There are many other celebrities and former athletes who are candid with all types of screenings as well. The point is not to share personal details for sharing's sake, but to encourage others to be comfortable discussing these things at all, be it with their loved ones and/or their doctors. I'm not definitively saying that was Clowney's intention in this case, but intentional or not, it serves the same purpose (and is more of a good thing than some sort of reverse invasion of privacy/TMI issue). You're wrong. lmao -

What would you consider a "Successful Run"
uncle flap replied to damaynman150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's exactly what I was thinking. If the league-wide perception is that you don't want to play the Bills, and that perception is sustained for at least a few seasons, I'd consider that a success at this point. You're also right about it being relative; If the above scenario becomes the case, but there aren't any accolades to back it up, then it wouldn't seem all that successful in retrospect. -

Bell and Parrish -
I think you also have to look at his experience as an offensive coordinator. In Miami as OC, they went 11-5 twice while he was there with Jay Fiedler starting. Sure they rode Wanny's defense, but the offense was also pretty productive. In Pittsburgh, the offense was near the tops in the league, and he found a way to get the most out of Kordell Stewart, en route to numerous playoff berths. While on the Chiefs, he completely turned the offense around from one of the worst in the league to something resembling competence. The Chiefs starting and backup QBs were injured (not to mention Larry Johnson was suspended) and Chan installed the spread to get the most out of Thigpen who prior to that looked as lost as he did this past year when he took a football to the head on the sidelines. There bottom feeding defense was more of a factor in the Chiefs terrible record that year. Not saying this stuff qualifies Chan as a genius, but these examples are where that idea stems from. He seems to bring out the best in guys while minimizing the impact of their respective weaknesses. And don't discount what he's done with the Bills so far. W/L aside, the offense has made great strides with a bunch of no-names. Yeah, it doesn't matter if it doesn't translate to wins, but it is a testament to his ability to design an effective offense around his personnel. Let's see what happens with a competent defense.

Bills Offseason Shapes Roster Nothing really new here, except most articles don't list all the moves, usually just the big ones. Seeing how aggressive the FO has been in getting things done is so satisfying, and is a far cry from FOs in the past. Another change is that with all these additions, the only losses have been Florence, Parrish, and Bell- All of whom have been replaced by draft picks. Too soon to tell now, but at least it seems like Gilmore should develop into a better player than Florence and Glenn should develop into a better player than Bell. Graham is more of a project so I can't proclaim he'll be better than Scoe, or make more of an impact (plus Chan says he won't be used in the same way that Scoe was, so in this case it's not a direct replacement). I know that past regimes were criticized for letting players go and seeking their replacements in the draft, but I believe the difference here is that the Bills let these guys go because they already knew what direction they were heading. What I mean is they didn't take Glenn bc Bell left, they let Bell go because they planned on drafting an O lineman high anyway. What I liked best about the article is the quote from Chan included at the end: I know it's just coach speak, but it's certainly better than, "It's hard to win in the NFL."

Different type of matchup: The Bills O line practicing against the Bills D line. On a bigger scale, the entire O against the D. I can't help but think that the offense stands to gain a lot by practicing against a defense that by all indications should be at least more than formidable and perhaps even dominant.

This looks pretty on point, but I'd play it a little differently. I have high hopes for Chris Douglas too, but with Choice already signing an extension (and being tight with Gailey), he'll really have to shine in camp/preseason to unseat him. I don't think they keep Onubun and Dickerson. Unless there's a major change in philosophy, they don't need two WR/hybrid type pass catching TEs. I think they keep Lee Smith or some other TE that is more of a blocker than a pass catcher instead of both Onubun and Dickerson. (I noticed you listed Gilbert as a blocking TE, so obviously you thought about that issue too). I'm not sure who I would cut to make it happen, but I'd like to keep another WR and I'd like to keep Moats. I want the best men to win the jobs, and I know Moats at this point is probably on the outside looking in but I love his attitude and hopefully Wanny can find a way to utilize his seemingly limited skill set. I'm not as high on Jasper or Moore as a lot of people here are so perhaps one or of them. I know it's risky to put Jasper on the PS, since the Bills have seemingly invested a lot of time developing him. There are a lot of tough decisions to make here. I also wouldn't be surprised if McKillop takes Chris White's job. McKillop is Wanny's guy from Pittsburgh and had a lot of success there. He hasn't shown much in the NFL and blew out his knee the year before last, but he's still young and if anyone knows how to use him, it's Wanny.

SOLD! For $230 grand! My link -
Wow! I do remember the last two were back to back but I didnt realize the first two were also. That interesting tidbit probably got buried behind the fact that THE BILLS BEAT THE PATRIOTS* FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 8 YEARS!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!! Suck it, Brady!! Too bad they waxed the Bills later in the year - I was really hoping the Bills could start a streak of their own. Plus coming back from a 21-0 deficit only made it that much sweeter. I guess a 56-0 rout would've been better but damn that was a great football game. EDIT: Forgot the asterisk

Sorry, I should've just pulled this up for you in the first place. Here are the current rosters as of May 17. My link They aren't perfect as they are user created and not an official release from EA sports, but it's a lot easier than doing it all manually. You can always edit the players yourself if you wish, but at least you don't have to create them from scratch, and you don't have to make all the FA signings and trades since February. Instructions for how to download and upload to your PS3 are included on that page. If you are playing xbox 360, you should be able to find those rosters on that same forum. LMK if you need help. Thank you! You're far too kind! Meant to add this too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9bkIbETT0M&feature=plcp From what I've seen/read Madden 13 seems pretty similar to Madden 12. There are already a ton of previews on youtube. Gotta love the George Wilson 360 pick in the above video! -

The developer (official) updates only work for the current version, and the final update is right after the Super Bowl. However, there are some hardcore gamers that actually make the roster changes and add new players for older versions. You can download a roster from the site below, then you copy it on to a flash drive, then upload it to the game. Details here: My link That particular link is for PS3 users. I didn't see anything nearly as current for xbox 360. Hope that helps! -
Will we run more and pass less than last year?
uncle flap replied to Thurmal34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mentioned this in another thread: Of course I would love if the Bills could run successfully when the defense is expecting it, but there wasn't much evidence of their ability to do so last year. Even with a healthy line. I'm more than fine with continuing to run a spread offense and running out of that like the Bills did last year. There's nothing wrong with passing to set up the run. Those 5+ ypc averages were mostly due to running out the shotgun and the defenses having extra DBs on the field. There were particular plays were I think they should've ran instead of passed, but looking at the overall picture, I don't think they need to drastically change the proportion of runs. Keep in mind, if the Bills are winning, we will see the rushing attempts per game go up.
