  1. He had a decent rookie year, particularly down the stretch. I tend not to write off rookie QBs (or rookies at other positions), especially those that aren't in the best situations, in terms of talent around them. To call all rookie QBs from last year piles of s*** doesn't really reflect any in-depth analyses on your part.
  2. I believe he was the highest rated rookie QB in the second half of the season
  3. I certainly do see your point and I am one that believes the real key to potential championships for this team is putting the best line they can in front of Allen and surrounding him with good skill players. With that said, they let Feliciano and Williams go because they just are not very athletic and do not fit what Kromer likes to do. As far as Bates, the level at which they tendered him tells you what his value is to them: he is a depth player for which they are only willing to pay so much. They said after the season that the Oline was going to be a priority and I would like to believe they will follow through on that to the best of their ability. It is the beginning of the just the 3rd day of free agency, so, we will see.
  4. The D signings have been necessary to replace leaving players and upgrading the two primary weaknesses last year: the lack of a top level pass rusher and the run defense. Beane and McDermott both stated that the line will be a priority and I could be wrong, but I don't think adding Saffold was all they had in mind. They still have the remainder of free agency, the draft, potential trades, and post Jun 1 cuts. We'll see.
  5. Medical advancements have been amazing. I'm fortunate that I have never had to go through anything more serious than broken bones and a torn calf muscle. I don't know how serious Howard's injury was, but, from what little I have read about achilles injuries, I can't imagine he was fully recovered in 2021. Hopefully he can fully recover with no permanent decrease in his abilities. Fully healthy, I think he could provide an intriguing addition to the offense.
  6. Houston…Miami…Cleveland….The gift that keeps on giving. Like a communicable disease…
  7. IMO, Matt Ryan would be the best scenario from the Colts perspective
  8. The problem with Belichick is his General Manager....
  9. Actually, he played only 4 games with Brady in 2020 before he was hurt. But, based on what he did in those four games, he was on pace for 45-50 catches / 550-600 yds / 8 TDs / 13+ YPC - as the #2 TE. Those numbers would have been pretty close to the actual numbers Gronk put up in 2020 (45 catches / 623 Yds / / 7 TDs / 13.8 YPC as the #1 TE. In 2021, Gronkowski was clearly the #1 TE, and Brate was #2 as I don't believe Howard was fully recovered from the achilles injury. The only question for me is whether or not he will be fully recovered from the injury by the time the season starts. If so, I think he could bring a lot of value to this offense as a #2 TE.
  10. Actually, I think there may be a good possibility that he does retire
  11. In the end, they both do mean that, whether (1) Beasley just wanted out and asked for permission to seek a trade, or (2) Beasley wanted out after refusing to take a paycut and asking permission to seek a trade. While reasons may vary, either one ends up with Beasley choosing to want out.
  12. Von Miller > (Khalil Mack + 2nd + 6th)
  13. The one thing nobody can question is that he gave everything he had for this team, every time he stepped on the field - exactly the kind of player Bills fans have historically loved.
  14. I loved what Beasley brought to this team and I sincerely wish him well.
  15. Why do people like you feel the need to question the passion for this team and the desire for them to win a championship of any posters who disagree with you? Personally, I agree with few of your posts and, while I question your critical thinking skills, I don't question if you want a championship as much as I do or any of the fans I personally know...
  16. No, anybody who thinks otherwise just has a different opinion...
  17. Baker, you are our QB. We promise, we will only explore replacing you if a good QB becomes available....
  18. I really like the DL they are assembling and I would not be surprised if Jordan Phillips ends up here as well. I think this was a very good overall defense last year; however, the two areas where they really suffered was having that game changer in the pass rush and the interior of the DL against the run. I think they are exponentially better now in both areas. In clear passing situations, they now have the ability to get consistent pressure with just the front four. Obviously, Miller gives them that game changer, Oliver and Settle provide good penetration along the interior, and Rousseau, IMO, may actually benefit the most form the addition of Miller and more interior pressure. In the run game, both Miller and Rousseau are good against the run and the addition of Jones, Settle, and possibly Phillips, gives them the ability to really seal off the interior. I would love to see Hughes come back (playing maybe 30-35 % of snaps) as well; however, even if he doesn't, I believe this line has become more athletic and aggressive, and has the ability to become one of the best in the league against both the pass and the rush.
  19. Honestly, he’s been whining non-stop for two days…
  20. I think they have the roster and the coaching to get to the Super Bowl and to win it. It doesn't mean they will get there, or, if they do, that they will win it. If they do not get to the SuperBowl, or if they get there and do not win it, it won't necessarily be because of coaching. There are so many variables that go into getting to the Super Bowl and winning it, and only so many of those variables are within the control of the coaches or the players. The question was whether or not I believed McDermott's seat is getting warmer. My answer is still no.
  21. I was speaking primarily from an optics perspective; however, I think the fallout from this will affect the team beyond Mayfield. They really have assembled some talent on that team and they were closer to being one of the top teams in the AFC than many people think - and, IMO, I feel they may be on the verge of losing whatever progress they have made. I could be wrong, who knows?
  22. Agree 100%. I have no idea why anyone would want to go to Cleveland. 4 short years ago they were loaded with cap space and draft picks, it seemed like there was such a bright future ahead for that fanbase. Unbelieveable how the Browns took that opportunity and turned it into the s*** show it is now. Or maybe not so unbelieveable. Haslam continues to be an embarrassment...
  23. You might, but, unless “we” is your preferred personal pronoun, you don’t speak for everyone. You are welcome to feel any way you want. I simply stated I don’t feel that way and my “guess” is people would be just as miserable with a poor to mediocre team regardless of a past championship win. If you would be fine with years of losing to have championship now, then good for you. I wouldn’t.
  24. Not at all. I have gone on record about this before. Ask a Red Sox Fan, a Cubs fan, or any other fan that waited for a championship and finally got one. My guess is that each time their season ends without a championship, they don't think about the one they did win. They are just as miserable as they were every in every other season their team didn't win it all.
