  1. Yes it was i watched it for about 5 episodes it's amazing how things like the hamburger came to be a american standard & they told how Nathans hot dogs became Nathans it just very interesting all the foods we eat and just take as normal but back in the day it was anything but that .
  2. Last night as i sit thumbing through the channels I saw a listing on the History channel the name of the show was The Foods That Built America so i went there to see what it was about i got up went to the kitchen & when i came back the show that had just come on was about the Buffalo wing & how it started to be . In 1963/64 there was a black restauranteur by the name of John Young that had a restaurant near the old rock pile i didn't happen to catch the name of it but he had been ordering wings & frying them then adding what looked to be a barbecue sauce on them & they sold very well among the community but this was during the time of much distress in Buffalo due to the civil rights movement . John Young fell upon hard times & wound up moving to Illinois so only those that came into his restaurant new about the chicken wings in the sauce which after he left no one was making them & the chicken wing was considered a throw away item so not many other restaurants would buy them until one day a restaurant about a mile away named the Anchor Bar got a shipment of chicken wings by mistake . The original Anchor bar which was a Italian restaurant owned by Frank & Theresa Velisimo which Theresa was the main cook took the mistaken order of chicken wings & she wondered why they got delivered there & just exactly what she would do with them until i believe it was her son asked if they had anything mom could cook up for him & a couple of his friends so instead of leaving the wings hole she cut of the tip & cut the 2 remaining pieces into the the drumstick & the flat . She fried them but when she took a bight they didn't have much of any flavor so she added some butter & a spicy sauce that she had for a different recipe & covered them in the sauce . Her son & his friends thought it was much to spicey all by them selves so she thought how can i take the heat down a bit so she added blue cheese as the dip & then she wanted to add something more after she put them on the menu because they started out as free in baskets on the bar kind of like they do with peanuts . But soon everyone in Buffalo was coming in to eat them so that's when she put them on the menu & added celery with them & the original sauce to cover the wings is now known as Franks Red Hot which i'm not sure about this if any of you do know please elaborate on this but but i'm thinking that seeing as the owner of the Anchor bars name was Frank that could be where the red hot sauce got it's name & i wonder if they were the originators of it . Of course the show goes on to tell how 2 brothers from Ohio that had visited Buffalo & went back home & while sitting at a bar ordered some wings to which no one knew about them so they decided to try & duplicate the sauce but couldn't & had 12 sauces made up & decided to have all 12 on the menu . They wanted to open a restaurant so they did they had 50 different beers on tap 12 sauces for the wings & at first they called Buffalo Wild wings & Weck the Weck being Beef on Weck as we all know from living up home but it didn't start out to great . The bar was near the Ohio State Buckeye stadium in Columbus & 1 day while a college student came in for a beer & some wings he asked if they could turn the Buckeyes on the TV it was near the end of the game so he did . So they dropped the Weck from the name & Hence Buffalo Wild Wings was born & became the first Sports bar which was 1982 . Shortly after that hooters came to be and we all know now that Buffalo wings are all over the world & they said that the anchor bar serves 1 ton of wings per day . If you get a chance look up on the History Channel the show called The Foods That Built America & the name of this episode is "Flight of the Buffalo Wing" I think being Buffalo fans you would dig it I know i was glued to it till the end . So now we all know a bit more about how Buffalo wings came to be in Buffalo & I believe they said John Young's daughter opened a bar not to far from the Anchor bar which again i didn't catch the name but maybe we should pay homage to Mr. Young for first starting to put wings in sauce . But there will only be 1 Anchor bar where the original Buffalo wing was first made !! Thank you Theresa Velisimo for many nights of drinking to be able to have Buffalo wings to go with a ice cold Brew !!!
  3. Whoops okay i took his shuttle time as his 40 time my bad well this is the exact reason why i drive entertainer coach & am not a NFL - GM Right ?? 😜
  4. I know there are a few here that will focus on the person asking the questions & comment on things unrelated to what this post is about & reply as to things they have posted in the past about some things she has said which will surprise no one here . That crazy GQP you know . But my focus is on what Dr. Redfield says as he explains his conclusions (which will also be said He's A Trump appointed puppet) to his research backed by his years of his science back ground & experience in virology when it comes to how the virus came to be even though there are others that would say the exact opposite . I know there are some here that will welcome his explanation as a part of the puzzle put together to make us all think this pandemic & some of the funding behind the scene came to once again be a natural & all to normal happening & not a man made result of gain of function which was paid for in part by the US directed to Wuhan by Fauci . In the end i don't expect any consequences to the higher up's in this maybe a few pee on's get burned but the others will have a diplomatic immunity in some respects as is par for the course in things as big as this & will be able to live out their lives of luxury just as that because things such as this & other disease that creates A LOT OF CASH for back door dealings eventually will go by the way side only to be paid for in law suits which are dwarfed by the amount of profit gained by the meds produced . This is only 1 small piece of the argument but one very experienced mans opinion based on his educated years of experience .
  5. I totally agree with Blackburn besides it just continues to show that those claiming that they will agree with this stupidity do little to no research ! Natural gas is one of the most efficient it is some 98% efficient & propane even more if it was bad they wouldn't be allowed to use it on toe motors inside of buildings where people work . The problem with our gov't is that they are highly educated people that turned in their common sense when they got their degree & they are now the same parents that teach their children that the highest form of discipline is to take one of their entitlements away such as a favorite toy while allowing them the rest of their toy box to play with . It's just amazing to me after 61 years how i can't make common sense decisions for myself and need a wing nut to decide what is best for me & mine !! Not to mention fire has been used since pretty much the beginning of time but all of the sudden it's the boogie man . Go figure .
  6. Well i'll tell you if your wishing in one hand and S**TTING in the other i can pretty much tell you which one will fill up first . 💩
  7. It really doesn't surprise me ! Those like Von that are extremely talented people in their profession usually have no problem in seeking out other avenues to continue to keep their minds & bodies engaged in activities even after they have moved on from there original occupation . Then there are those which i seem to surround myself with that would rather sit & stare at a phone screen all day mesmerized and their heart rates never get over idle & it shows . I'm pretty close to buying a beeper for one so when they back up every one will know to watch out ...
  8. I would love to see how to use a slide rule & to see the looks on the kids faces did any of them ask to try & use the slide rule or just sit in awe of how the old folks use to do things ? I know when i break out a shovel my nephew sure doesn't ask how it works or if he can try it out 😂 . It's actually amazing even though computers are a very helpful tool how they have dumbed down the world in general if you can't find the answer just google it or ask Siri .
  9. They can look at any one butt here are other things to consider the biggest being money with Brown set as the RT & him having a full OTA & preseason he could make a good jump then with Doyle coming back which we don't know a lot about him either so they may have it covered .
  10. I wish the guy from army (Andre Carter) didn't have his commitment in stone with them he looks like a beast 6' 6" 240 with room to put on weight & he runs in the 4.2's if he didn't have the commitment to the army they said he'd be a 1st rounder ...
  11. They drafted Cook & brought in Hynes and Beane has said he wants a bigger short yardage back & he isn't that guy so i would think NO plus his history isn't what Beane or McD would want in a player .
  12. Given that he knows the D and he can play both DB & safety plus being a ST's player i don't think he's going any where they may try to extend him to make his cap hit a little less but i see him on the team this season .
  13. Well it seems as though now doesn't it ? Oh & the OP should also edit the heading & put right under neath it . Biden and China - especially seeing as they have found some 3 million more reasons to look into him & his son even deeper .
  14. Hey has any one told BT or Tibs about the some $3 million dollars that one of Pres. Biden causes got given as a gift from the Chinese that came through i'm guessing because of Hunter was that some kind of thank you from him to dad for getting him the job ? Or could it have been for info ??? I'm so glad that Joe is such a straight shooter i guess all that stuff that Tibs & BT have been saying about him are well --- WRONG !!!! I'll bet we won't here a peep out of either of them on this subject but they will come back with something about Trump to bait & switch as they do . DAM THAT TRUMP ....
  15. I wonder if Kromer could have made ad difference in his play ???? 🤔
  16. Beasley's last full season with the Bills he put up 700 yds & in 2021 the Bills 3rd down conversion rate was 3rd best in the league which i would bet most of those came from Beasley so to say he was washed up is ridiculous most of his path came from having a strong opinion & voicing it . Put his numbers his last year up against Mckenzies any year & Beasley by the numbers was a much better player to keep even on the down side of his career . Then if you put into the equation the chemistry & trust that Josh has in him Bease was hands down the better of the 2 players to keep . Add to that when given the chance to be the main slot receiver & prove his worth to the team & the offense after the injury they realized he wasn't the guy they thought so they brought Bealey back because of the afore mentioned reasons . But you have your opinion based on your opinion i'm basing mine on his production, chemistry, & the numbers . I won't totally disagree about Oliver but in the games you mentioned was take into consideration the fact of what caliber of player he was playing against (if it was a #1 talent okay) There are other players taken with later picks that have proven to be better than his draft status . Then with Oliver who was playing next to him & how they were playing if it was Phillips & he was healthy Oliver was better because more attention had to be paid to him or Jones but on a island i don't see where Oliver is as good as you seem to think yes he has to be accounted for but he's no John Randal which was the same size & played the same position . And i have never seen Oliver take over a game which there are a lot of games i can't watch due to where i live so can't say that for sure but given his stats in 2022 - 2.5 sacks 1 FF & 20 solo tackles TO ME does not or will not be worth the kind of money he will get paid this year or will ask for in his next contract so let's get something for him while they can & get rid of the $10+ million it will cost .
  17. If the heading of this post is true i'm glad Beane has finally seen the error of his ways as far as when it comes to picking up a RB either in the draft or in FA because it has seemed to me that he has a love affair with RB's that are 200- Lbs & 5' 9" or less . In the past he has had in later rounds RB's the likes of AJ Dillon, Brian Robinson, Antonio Gibson, & others that were bigger backs that he could have had at the same pick as a Moss or others but he passed on them at those picks & then we have Gilliam that has shown some flashes but they don't use him more to see if he is that guy . I just hope they do get a bigger back & decide to actually use them more than a sprinkle here & a dash there Henry would be awesome but there again would he be more of a hood ornament or would he actually be a weapon used or Fornette but he is a lot more iffy IMHO but could be more cost prohibitive as far as the cap if he doesn't go for 1 in the draft .
  18. Which this was very smart by Beane to do that but my thing is he had already show'd him what he was & they still signed him over the likes of a player that had much more out put & chemistry in the offense like Beasley which in a way makes me think WTH were they thinking ? 1 Game against the Pats is what bringing him back was based on . Like Oliver he is a average player that has flashes but is not consistent with those flashes & the Bills seem to allow those guys more reps than they do others that could be more production for the team . They not only do that with Mckenzie they have done that with Duke Johnson, Hodgins, Breida, Moss, Morris, Gilliam, & others which there have been some of these i just mentioned that have shown them selves to be very useful in the scheme but used very sparingly even Motor was in this group .
  19. That's awesome & i heard on 1 Bills live that his play last year warranted him $650k bonus last season so he will be a welcome sight in more than 1 way to the Bills to know they have him back & is a player that can pull his weight in the locker room & on the field . 🙌
  20. I'm just glad that he no longer here not that he's not a good person because he was a great "Team" guy but the Bills have this thing for keeping guys around that don't produce as they should & i know i'm beating a dead horse but if Hodgins was given the reps last season that Mckenzie was i think there would have been a better return of the money . That and the WR room may not be in as much of a need as it looks now . Apples to apples the amount of production of the 2 and the possibility if Hodgins would have been given more games to play i think him being 6' 3" tall and 200+ would have been a better choice but that horse has left the stable . I'm sure someone will pick up Mckenzie & he will be used like the Bills did hell Dabol may even pick him up .
  21. I agree & i love me some motor in Buffalo but with that if you can get a guy like Robison for around $3+ mill for 4 to 5 yrs that is as the so called experts say a generational talent which Henry was or is too wouldn't that be much better & more cap friendly ? Not to mention he has a lot less wear & tear on him & although injury is always a possibility for any player that could be less of a concern with a younger player too . There is a lot to take in but i have faith in the Beanster !!!
  22. I feel the same the Bills could handle the rookie contract much easier than having Henry's money added to it & i think if Beane could trade Oliver & his cap hist o Az he would have already done it . Oliver is a average player but a team that has the money & a need to upgrade to their D he could be a good fit for them but everything has to come together just that way & the one thing is if Beane does put this out there how will Oliver react to it ? His money would be guaranteed so after finding out that Beane was using him as trade bait would he actually play hard or would he just show up to collect a pay check & be a liability ? So there is a lot to consider and I think it would have to be a team that came to Beane with this idea & not the other way around because of the possibility of what could happen .
  23. This is a great fantasy line up for sure it would be great if Beane could pull it off but given like you said the money for Oliver (which i wish they would trade him & his salary) & what they have tied up with Von i don't know how he would pull this off . Beane is definitely a magician but i think even this might be beyond his magical skills but who knows i would love to see this line up on the field because as you said D coordinators would be having nightmares as the weeks coming up to play the Bills come around & that for sure sounds like a SB winning roster !
  24. The Bears WAY over paid for Edmunds but if teams got that kind of cash they are going to over pay . It would be different if it was a Butkis or a LT but not a Edmunds just saying .
  25. He could start on any of the teams that needs a dependable RB, he's been consistent in the amount of yards he gained each year & he's been of the most part injury free so what team wouldn't want a decent RB with his history ? But if the guy that came from the Lions that led the league in TD's last year didn't get $5 mill a year there's no way Motor get's that !!
