Glory Bound

Most of you guys on this board are way more football savvy than myself, but on this topic I know the inside story. My mom was editor of the Hamburg Photo News just prior to the stadium being built. She caught wind that the stadium was going to be built over those Indian burial grounds & wrote an article about it. Well, the story grew legs & traveled, creating quite a bit of a stir at the time. As a result, the stadium planners reconfigured the layout and the stadium WAS NOT built over the burial grounds and provisions were made to keep the cemetery grounds intact. I remember my mom joking that she was responsible for the swirling winds which drove our kickers nuts. I do believe our team is cursed, but for other reasons.

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw once. This older couple was sitting on a bench & the man says to her, "As soon as the kids die off, I'm leaving you." My friend, you'll never be done. You're doing what we've all been doing...we all just keep moving the finish line.

Oh but I was a fan! My history runs deep...you wouldn't believe. If I told you some things about me pertaining to the Bills, you would think I was lying. And I didn't "swap" teams. I always loved the Bills, & have several other teams I follow...the Cards being one of them. I've simply had enough of the dysfunction of this franchise & engaging in self torture. It's time to let them go. I don't claim this is right for everybody...just right for me.

For the first time ever, I'm gonna say something that I can't believe I'm gonna say. First, a little background: I fell in love with the Bills at the old Rockpile. My dad took me to all the games from a very early age...it's in my blood! I worked across from Rich stadium... The early 90's were awesome & as a result, the Bills have been woven into my DNA. Second, a few years ago, my business took me to a trade show at the University of Phoenix stadium. That stadium is the bomb! I asked security if I could go outside to see the field & they allowed me to do so. It's chest high & I reached out & touched it. When I did, I developed a strange bond with that place & I started asking some questions...how the roof works, how the field moves...how the stadium opens up to allow the field to move outside, etc. As a result, I started following the Cards & their progress. I became a fan! So, since our team is totally pathetic again this year & going nowhere as usual, & since the Cards are 4 & 1 & hope abounds in the desert, I'm actually gonna be rooting for them Sunday! That's right...Go Cards! Go ahead...call me names! I really don't care...I'm ready for a divorce from the Buffalo Bumblers!

At least when riding snowmobiles you got some fresh air & got to go somewhere. This gig is going nowhere & the stench is nauseating. I'll take a snowmobile any day!

Somebody's got way too much time on their hands!

IMO, the officiating was so horrible Monday night, it added a real strange feel to the game...especially the way Terico was bringing it to the forefront (and rightly so). It almost felt like a second rate event that didn't matter, instead of a professional NFL game that was important. I say stop messin around & get the real ref's back, before this gets a lot worse. In the big scheme of things, it's chump change to accomplish this.

And the Cards surprise NE...& the Steelers spank the Jets...& we handle KC like we just got handled by the Jets...& you'll be soaring again & filled with hope. It's the nature of our disease....

He was always great in practice with the Bills...it's when real bullets started to fly that he choked. They'll figure it out.

Thank you for such a positive uplifting post! C'mon, be honest...did you even crack a little smile last year when we were 5 & 2 & ranked #2 in the NFL ?

Here's what I can't shake: At one point last year we were 5 & 2 & ranked 2nd in the NFL. Fitz was hot & we were singing his praises! Then we had devastaing injuries & the wheels fell of the cart... and later, word came out about Fitz's mysterious rib injury, Fast forward to this pre-season...no, it hasn't been pretty...but because of our hot start last year, I know we are capable. I for one am not gonna be calling for T Jack to come in anytime soon. Let's be patient, trust in Chan, & believe in our guy, at least for the 1st part of this season. T Jack needs time to learn the offense anyway. Also, I think we have a real good chance of beating the Jets on the 9th & this will be a confidence builder.

He's got a bad case of the dropsies in crucial situations, & he's a whiner that draws too much media attention. I predict he's done in the NFL.

I’ve been dating this woman (Buffalo Bills) for a very long time. Once, a long time ago, our relationship reached near bliss (early 90’s), but then, because of all her flaws, it went stale for awhile (Since Music City Miracle), but I just couldn’t get myself to break up with her…so we slumbered along. Then recently (Bills off-season), she spent a lot of money & got a facelift & lypo suction (Mario, Anderson, etc)…man she looked great! So I decided to marry her this year! I felt it was time! But now, as the wedding approaches (Bills 2012 season), I have this sinking feeling…I am realizing that, despite the money spent & the facelift, she’s the same old B word!

"Wide Right" ...Not sure why that bothers me, but it does. My therapist has been trying to get to the bottom of this for a couple decades...something to do with a distant memory.

The urinating experience I spoke of was a regular season game. It doesn't get much worse than idiots urinating whenever & wherever they get the urge...even if there's small children in the line of fire. I hope somehow someone with some authority within the Bills oganization reads this this thread & does something about this situation.

Last time I went to a game at the Ralph, a drunk behind me urinated all over an 11 year old boy sitting next to me. The mother witnessed it & informed me of the situation. I informed security & they threw the bum out. All a mom wanted to do was to take her 11 year old to a Bills game, & now she's got that wonderful memory...pathetic! It was then when I decided to purchase Sunday ticket & watch the games at home.

Last year when we were 5 & 2 & ranked #2 in the NFL, we were everywhere & everybody was talking about the resurrected Bills. Then the wheels fell off the cart & we lost 8 out of the next 9. C'mon guys...we deserve to be invisible right now. It's all about winning!

I was gonna make this point, but you beat me to it. If we would have played like the Pats have the last decade, & they would have played like us, the fans in NE would hate us like we hate them...& ya know, we wouldn't give a flyin crap about their feelings, just like they don't about ours. In fact, they must laugh at our "hate" posts...that's why I don't express my feelings toward them in writing very often...just in case one or more of them is trolling our site. Why give them the satisfaction? The tide will turn soon...gotta Billieve!
