Hey Chef Jim...what day next week do you turn 50? I turn 57 next Tuesday the 12th. Let's get together & celebrate! I was a little depressed for a week or so when I turned 50...took me awhile to come to grips with it. My grandma was 101 when she passed away, but lost her mind around 90. She lived basically as a shell for over a decade...kinda like what Ralph is doing now.

I agree 100%...that's why I originally said "by many", & not by everybody. If he gets rid of that wind-up, I think he can be a winner..as I stated in a previous post. Lots of people are questioning him because of that, especially former players.

How do you explain RW stating that the Bills were not interested in Tebow?

There's those that profess to be Christians, then there's those who live the life. To answer your question, simply google something like "hated for Jesus" or something along those lines & you'll be able to locate many scriptures. But back to Tebow, I did not ignore the other part of your post. It was great & quite valid. I watched Tebow at the end of the season & I remember questioning if he really "got it" concerning shortening his throwing motion...because it seemed to me he was back to winding up. I wondered if something could be coached out of somebody that was so natural to them. Frankly, I have my doubts. That extra half a second he takes will be costly. With that said, I believe he'll be a great QB in the NFL & be a winner. Maybe not an elite QB, but I believe he's Denver's guy. But I do see the concerns about his wind up. He's no Marino, that's for sure. But success comes in many packages. I can't help thinking about Bernie Kosar's crazy release as an example.

Tebow is hated by many because he loves the Lord & is not shy about expressing his faith.

Bradford didn't have much more to work with than Claussen, yet he turned the Rams around. The gap in their pre-draft hype wasn't nearly as large as their on-field performance gap last yr. Bradford was the only sure pick QB in the draft last year...& I just don't see a sure pick this year at QB...which is why I agree with you...time to shore up our D.

True...THX...but my most accounts he was terrible last yr. Which is why the Panthers might have already given up on him this soon, and may take Gabbert or Newton with their #1 pick... possibly thinking trade down the road.

The perfect example of this pre-draft QB hype is Claussen. Last year at this time the media was ready to make him & Tebow grand marshalls in the NFL parade. Now his team is picking #1 & there's lots of Panther QB talk. It's nuts! IMHO, We need to shore up our defense & not even think about a QB the first two rounds.

I've had this crazy thought for a few days now...that the lady judge in this case, who's only supposed to rule if the lockout is legal or not, needs to get the greedy boys back to the table to work out their own problems. This can be done by her making a whacky & insane ruling which favors neither side. Something like this: The lockout is legal for players with the last name beginning with A, C, E, G, I...and so on...And illegal for players with the last name beginning with B, D, F, H, J...and so on. Can you imagine Brady not being locked out, but Ochocinco being locked out...wishing he wouldn't have changed his name? LOL Something like this would have everybody scratching their heads, not trusting the courts, & they would decide they better work it out themselves. Whatever side gets the favorable ruling on the 6th will dig in their heels & we'll be watching this stupid saga play out for months. I know this sounds nuts, but I bet a crazy ruling like this would work. EDIT: And BTW Scrappy...welcome to the board!

If we all treated each other in this forum as if we were all together in a big room, using our real names, & talking face to face, this would be a much more enjoyable place. The anonymity of this board, combined with lack of any sort of behavioral consequences, brings out the real jerk in some. As Rodney King would say, "Can't we all just get along?"

I don’t think the Bills will take a QB with their fist pick. Here’s why: What was one of the first things Buddy Nix did as GM? He announced that T.O. would not be resigned. Why? Not because T.O. was washed up, but because Nix places an extremely high value on team chemistry & cohesiveness…& T.O. was disruptive, even when he behaves, if for no other reason than the crazy lopsided media attention on him. Now…mix this with the moments of sunshine Fitz had last year & Gailey’s subsequent public endorsement of him. Think about it…what a great way to screw up any team chemistry right now by drafting Gabbert or Newton. It’s like telling Fitz…”We’ve changed our minds…you’re no longer #1…now mentor your replacement.” It would divide the locker room. The best thing our beloved Bills can do on April 28th is focus on shoring up our defense (Dareus, Miller, or Fairly) with our first pick & then take a QB in the later rounds. Who knows, maybe we’ll find a diamond in the rough that Fitz can mentor void of controversy.

I chose Gabbert. In an interview I viewed, he talked about his work ethic. I am convinced he'll give 110% to whatever team picks him. He not only has the physical skills, but he's got it between the ears. I'm convinced he'll grow to be a quality NFL QB. I just don't have that level of confidence with Newton.

Well, should my scenario happen, there would be nothing left to touch...haha And if papazoid's scenario happens, I will never let my friend in my house, or go hunting, & I'll start wearing a scarf in cold weather.

OK...say my friend plays a practical joke on me & shaves my armpits & legs in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping. Then the next day I'm in a hunting accident and my reproductive organs are shot off. Then, as fate would have it, soon after I get this infection in my larynx & my speaking voice raises by three octives. Should I have my drivers license changed to say I'm a girl?
