  1. This would be the case except we will have gobs of money to spend next year....so we can easily pay Watkins
  2. good move IF he can get around the laws
  3. you have no idea about that whatsoever, but I do agree about Doug being a good soldier....however, its needed in such a small knit business. If Doug acts like an ass he doesnt get hired again.
  4. I dont want my GM to come in and undermine the current guys on the team (publicly). Coming in and saying "I'm gonna go get us a franchise QB" is a terrible message to TT (even though he may deserve it). Cliches are fine with me in pressers, they are BS league requirements most of the time. He should say "were going to build a winner here from the ground up" and thats it... SHOW US, dont talk at us, showing us is what matters Why couldnt they have been working together and collaborating, with both knowing that Whaley was gone after the draft? That is not possible in your eyes?
  5. Once McDermott was hired, it didnt matter who had control of the 53 because that doesnt matter until games...soooo....
  6. You can think velocity is not an indicator of success all you'd like, but the numbers indicate otherwise. Since 08, there hasnt been a successful NFL QB who threw less than 55 mph. You can say "what did those QBs do in college?" all you want, I don't care if they threw for 15,000 yards in college or never played. The number 55 is the indicator. McCarron and his weak 49 has not shown anything to indicate hes more than a backup. Just because those under 55 dont have great college production does not mean the 55 mph mark is wrong, it means that if you don't have a strong arm you probably aren't going to light it up in college either. The fact remains none of the "under 55" club has ever been anything other than a bust, never was, or career backup. I'll take my chances with the stronger throwers. 2 mph equates to 3 yards on a ball travelling 20 yards...thats a HUGE window (or missed window) in the NFL. "Passing" the Velocity test does not mean you WILL be a good NFL QB, but "failing" it so far has proved that you will NOT be a good NFL QB (I mean "good" as in, potential franchise guy, because who cares about anything else). Peterman came in at 54, could he be the guy who breaks the rule? Sure...but I wont bet on it.
  7. The Eagles were known to have wanted to make McD their coach, but they werent willing to wait until after the superbowl, so they went with next on their list. I am happy with McD. I hope the Pegulas give him enough time if it takes a while.
  8. Call me an optimist, BUT: - we have no idea how our QB will play in a new offense, asking him to do new things (OR who will even be our QB), so we dont know if we will have "zero passing offense" - we have no idea if our LBs can play in McD scheme...many think Ragland/Preston cannot do it, others seem to think they will be fine (if you follow Rob Quinn on twitter, he posted an excellent article last week that shows just how great Preston Brown was as a coverage LB - were talking top 5 in the league - and that he may be a good fit in McD scheme...and would also make sense why we didnt address LB early in the draft or in FA) - like our safeties better than last year, and I personally see CBs in this scheme as "get guys who can do it" which we seem to have done. Yea sucks to lose a talent like Gilmore, but why do you need a corvette on a 40 MPH road? Yea Gilmore could have had success in this D, but so can a lesser DB (and McD has always gotten the most out of under the radar DBs - Norman anyone?) - Shady is Shady, our o-line is as good or better than last year. Who will step up behind Shady? Someone will....first it was Karlos, then it was Gilly, now it will be....next man up. Its the system. - WR depth is an issue no doubt about that...a lot will depend on health and productivity of WRs We do not know the answer to any of the questions above...could we go 5-11? Absolutely. Could we go 11-5? Absolutely....if you choose to think thats not possible, then I am sorry for you as a fan. I choose to be optimistic until theres no other option (usually november 1st as a Bills fan). HEY EY EY EYYYYY!!!!
  9. I LOL at the "tough schedule" people...you have no clue how those teams will be next year (aside from the Pats will be awesome and we will lose twice to them, which is what can be said every year)
  10. no code, literal water in the basement and yes, your girlfriend is well aware...she had to help me clean it : )
  11. Thank you all for this thread. I have been feeling blue all week due to the constant rain, water in the basement, cant get out and golf... This thread inspired me to spend all morning listening to "Regular people cover songs", and I have been inspired
  12. this was just incredible, thank you
  13. It simply means if they restructured, your just pushing that money on towards next years cap... example if Dareus restructred from say 10 mill this season to 5 million, that 5 million gets pushed into the future, thus increasing what he is owed next year and decreasing the amount of money the Bills would have to sign free agents then
  14. wow...wowwww... learned a lot about some long time posters here that changes how I have viewed them for a long time... I am in shock of the ignorance being posted here, thats a shame... wow
  15. he is 100% talking about Aguacates - i love their food
  16. Why I personally like McDermott so far (and thats the only person I can speak for) is that he has a great pedigree and feel for today's NFL. He has said all the right things, and not rushed to judgement in any situation (took time making a decision on the roster). Has put together a quality staff so that he can actually just be the HC (and I guess GM). He is sending the right message with the players after the summer camp that was Rex Ryan's Bills. Basically I like his back ground and philosophy. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see if he can actually make us winners again.
  17. That is why he brought in Frazier, someone very familiar with his brand of defense. Don't think McD will be doing any coordinating.
  18. I am a fan of McDermott so far. To the crowd that says "he's never been a head coach", "he came out of nowhere", "the panthers haven't even been that good"...I say this, the Eagles had him as their first choice to be HC after Chip Kelly, but the Panthers kept winning in the playoffs, and the Eagles couldn't wait so they went for their next choice. McDermott has a lot of respect around the league for not only his knowledge of the game, but for the way he carries himself and is viewed by players/FO alike. There is a lot to like here. Would I have given him total control of the football operations with so little experience at the top? Probably not. However, that is the situation we find ourselves in and must role with it. Likely we will be bringing in a GM he is very familiar with, and more importantly, is very familiar with him and his style/how he operates so they would already share the same vision. Whoever becomes the GM will do so knowing full well that McD is going to have a large part in the shots being called within the football ops (for better or worse). We are riding this McD train, all aboard.
  19. Titus Welliver does a good job with Bosch, although in my head I always pictured Bosch to look more like Gary Oldman / Harvey Keitel
  20. wowwwwww....I laughed so who is worse, you or me?
  21. I said the same thing in the shout box....just when I felt for sure he was not on the radar/possibility, Leroi has to go and give me hope so I can be disappointed
