I'm in general agreement, but your point about a reach is questionable. What is a reach? Nobody ever knows where NFL teams generally grade each player. I am certain that even among NFL teams that there are wide disparities in the grade of many players - that is, team A may grade Joe Smith very highly and Team B may grade him considerably lower. It is an oversimplification to think that there is just this list that ranks players in order from 1 to 200 and everyone agrees with it. In addition, let's take the QB example that you used. Let's say that our beloved Bills have QB Billy Bob Bomber rated as the 40th best player in the draft. If the Bills are picking 20th and they desperately need a QB (most important position in NFL), I might argue that they should go ahead and select Mr. Bomber. If they wait until the 2nd, even if they trade up into the top of the 2nd, that guy might not be there. The argument could be made in the reverse too, so there is no clear cut answer.

I don't know what the QB class is going to look like, but if the Bills finish 8-8 or better they are likely out of range for any outstanding QB prospects that might be in the draft. I've seen some of Connor Cook. I admit I haven't watched him a lot, but what I saw wasn't that impressive. Coupled with a 58% completion rate in college, I have to think he isn't a 1st round caliber player, though he could be drafted in the first just because QB prospects are always elevated due to the large need in the NFL.

How did Matt Cassel do for Dallas? 3 INTS, if I recall correctly.

As I said last week, Rex Ryan took a team with a great defense, great special teams and a bad offense and broke the defense and special teams. Ryan and his entire staff should be gone after this debacle

The Bills' offense is not high powered even when they have all of their players available. Today they will be missing: - starting QB Tyrod Taylor - starting WR Sammy Watkins - starting WR Percy Harvin - backup WR Marquise Goodwin - starting RT Seantrell Henderson - starting OG John Miller - backup RB Karlos Williams That's nearly HALF of their starters on offense and some key reserves. If this defense is as good as they claim that they are, they will stand up and win this game. If they can't hold Jax to 17 points or fewer, expect a loss.

Yep, Taylor's 107 yards passing and 14 points of output last week against a poor Tennessee team should definitely get him into the Hall Of Fame

Taylor would not have gotten "the W" last week if the defense had given up 31 points like they have today. You knew going in that the Bills' offense wasn't going to score much - the defense had to play another great game and they have been terrible.

Rex Ryan came in here and flat out broke a great defense. He should shoulder all of the blame here. This defense was tremendous last season under Jim Schwartz and now they are awful.

Yes, they weren't perfect, but did hold Tenn. to 13 points. I expected the offense to struggle without McCoy, Williams and Watkins and they definitely did. I am a bit disappointed that Robert Woods wasn't more involved. I think he is very good, but either he didn't get open or Taylor wasn't seeing him.

This defense is just not good enough for the money invested. They were much better last year. Coaching is questionable.

If the defense was playing well, the time of possession wouldn't be as lopsided. Yes, the offense without McCoy, Watkins and Karlos Williams is not holding onto the ball, but the defense could do a better job at stopping Tenn. to get off the field. The defense is supposed to be carrying this team and they are not doing that.
