I missed the first hour, and I mainly judge these things at this stage by charisma, stage presence and body language, but I thought Christie looked and sounded pretty good.

My biggest concern is if he gets a DUI AND a hit & run. You're only supposed to get one or the other, not both. Addiction only affects people of diminished cognitive ability and moral character.

It becomes complicated when you have two distinct groups - one who pays into the system, the other who lives off it - and they both have an equal say. It's like my wife's friend who lets her degenerate grown daughter & son in law live with her. She's the only one contributing to the household finances, but under one person one vote they can vote themselves a bigger portion of her paycheck.

I disagree. He spent two decades taking things out of context, reporting half the story, and leaving the bulk of his audience believing things that were not true. It's also a bit rich when he gives one of his sanctimonious rants about how negative and divisive people are, then in the next breath jumps right down into the gutter engaging in divisive language and assuming the worst of everyone who disagrees with him. He's a talented comedian, but I see nothing virtuous about him or his contribution to the culture.

Looking at it from a detatched point of view, considering ability to win, lead, and enact good policy (assuming they would follow through on their word) I thought Chris Christie was the most impressive. Bush came off really well too. His lineage of moderates is somewhat concerning, but if his name wasn't Bush he may have the best chance to win. Huckabee may have the best stage presence. He connects to the audience very well, and has a great charisma about him. Poor Ben Carson's message was good, but he was visibly nervous up til the last bit where he scored with the close. Rubio and Walker both seemed like they might well be great guys with good ideas, but neither of them really have the charisma and strength to win a President in a television world. Trump.... as a person you have to give him a lot of credit. The guy's got balls. And he's got a great personality. For him to come into a debate like this is like Michael Jordan going to play baseball in his 30s. Sure, he's great at what he does but he didn't start playing politician until he was in his 60s. Most of these guys prepare for this their whole lives. Trump's a joe who thinks maybe he coulda played in the majors, now he wants a chance, and he has the reputation, fame, and money to make it happen, and he went for it. And for being a rookie playing in the major leagues of a new sport, I thought he did well. I don't think tonight helped him, but he was a long shot to begin with. But he got a lot of new people to watch the Republican debate.

That's what he does on every issue. It gives him comfort and security in his beliefs without having to challenge them. It also allows him to feel superior without having to address the substance of the arguments. It's funny because he purports to be a caring, enlightened, compassionate pacifist of high virtue, yet he's clearly an angry and spiteful guy who casts righteous judgment and scorn upon all who have a different point of view. And he rationalizes it by attributing all of their differences to moral depravity.

My takeaway thus far is that Megyn Kelly is suitable for sexual activity.

That's patently false. The second pick doesn't have a better chance of hitting than the first one did, but there's a better chance that 1 of the 2 hits than 1 of 1 hitting. Your theory would be like saying you're just as likely to roll a 6 with 1 roll of the dice as you would with 2 rolls because each roll is independent of the other.

Guys that went to my school banged out more hot chicks than guys who went to your school did.

I heard major airlines are now refusing to transport trophy kills so as not to contribute to big game hunting. Chalk up another win for neo-fascism and a loss for endangered animals. I wonder if those pushing to end big game hunting will regret their movement if they're successful at eliminating big game hunting, thus eliminating the financial incentive to maintain the habitats and populations of these animals, and ultimately bringing about the extinction of more speci. Who am I kidding. People like that never look beyond the first step anyway. I'm sure they'll never even consider the possibility that they did more harm than good.

I'm cool with the scoring either way, we just need to decide before the draft because it has a huge impact on draft strategy.

He was a great entertainer. My favorite Roddy Piper was in the late 80s (around the time of Hulk Hogan v Zeus) when he was a commentator. I still get a chuckle recalling him taunting Bobby the Brain Henan (or "Boobsie" as he called him).

If you were Pegula why would you even care to pursue it further? Is there any rational basis for it, or have you just adopted the idea of the league acting as the morality police to the extent that you couldn't bare the idea of somebody possibly stepping outside the bounds of upstanding conduct in his private life without league involvement and penalties?

Difference between a democrat and a socialist. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2015/07/30/chris_matthews_to_debbie_wasserman_schultz_whats_the_difference_between_a_democrat_and_a_socialist.html -
Too bad we have people like you to sharpen it.

I hope so, but I don't see much to be optimistic about. The widespread disconnect between conventional wisdom and reality seems to be growing exponentially with no end in sight. I don't see this turning out well.

You hold up the Nordic countries as the great socialist success story when in truth it does not resemble the brand of socialism you or Bernie Sanders subscribe to. -
They don't always progress though. Sometimes they crumble, collapse, or erode. And there are a lot of structural and cultural problems that are gradually pulling us in that direction.

The fact that the answer to this question isn't common knowledge, and it isn't, really says everything about what's wrong with the educational systems and news media in this country. -
I have 2 of the Panasonic plasmas. They're great for sports and video games. Never had a problem with either one.
