  1. TT needs 2-3 years as the unquestioned, uninterrupted starter before we'll have even a vague idea of what he can do.
  2. Yeah, well Manuel treats objects like women, motherfu©ker.
  3. That's a ridiculous statement. Trying to draw that kind of conclusion from that stat line with that small a simple size and with no context is just plain dumb.
  4. It's nice that EJ's doing better, but all this chest thumping over him going into his third season backing up a sixth round pick who's never started an NFL game is a bit over the top.
  5. Actually, it's you who didn't get it, but thanks for clarifying. No one's suggesting you pronounce Juan with a hard J, but if you normally speak with an American accent but say Juan Hernandez like you were born and raised in the slums of Tiajuana then you might sound pretentious and absurd.
  6. When you meet an Indian guy with a name like Nesir Chaudry or Sanjiv Patel, do you pronounce it like you're Abo on the Simpsons?
  7. Well you and EJ can take turns Manuelly working Cassel's wide rooster next year when he's hoisting the Lombardi and EJ's getting cut from the CFL. You can use your tears as lube you !@#$ing fanboy.
  8. I don't know that your account is entirely accurate. He was no longer needed for the role he was brought in to fill and his salary was substantial and not guaranteed. It's all academic at this point, but his released does not necessarily equate to him being beaten out "handily". I doubt the coaches really used the preseason to audition Cassel.
  9. Exactly. It's like nails on the chalkboard for me.
  10. I appreciate that.
  11. I have a girl in my office that does that and it always annoys the hell out of me. A friend of mine put it best: He pointed out that his last name is Davis, Davis is an Irish name, but nobody feels the need to pronounce it with a thick Irish accent. It's not even a matter of using an American accent, it's a matter of speaking with her own accent rather than acting like a pretentious !@#$.
  12. Even if he doesn't play he's still worth the roster spot just to get God on our side.
  13. I tend to think TG is a bit of a douche because of the way he stormed out of here, his ridiculous refusal to say the Redskins name, and some stories I've heard about his Twitter behavior, but I think he's better at his job than most give him credit for. Being a douche bag doesn't preclude one from being a decent sports writer.
  14. I feel as though this thread hasn't lived up to its potential. It's been way to civil. EJ sucks and the only people who support him are a bunch of brain dead sycophants. If they really wanted to make money they'd sell EJ's rooster flavored beer at the Ralph for all the candy ass EJ fanboys.
  15. TRuth be told, there aren't that many of them. For every legitimate EJ hater there were 10 posters who simply didn't want to go "all in" on him by handing him the starting job with no competition who were labeled as "haters" also. Most are happy with him earning a roster spot, and would be happy with him starting provided he earned that as well.
  16. For a lot of these guys, their job is to make these predictions throughout the process. If they came on everyday saying "I don't know" it may help their credibility, but it would destroy their ratings. I don't think most of It was that outlandish. It seems to be the general consensus that Cassel came in as the presumptive veteran starter and TT impressed from the get go as Rex's hand-picked hope, and that EJ struggled through most of camp and then came on strong toward the end. Whether the FO wanted to keep a veteran with a high floor for security or save cap space and go with lower floor, higher ceiling options was anyone's guess. It's unfair to, with the benefit of hindsight, trash them for not being clairvoyant.
  17. I'm kind of surprised how little people think of Brown. He's a talented runner and his fumbling has been overblown. The only upside to cutting Fred is keeping Brown, IMO.
  18. Speaking of Timmah, as punishment for irresponsible reporting, I think he should be assigned to the Redskins beat.
  19. If I were him I'd tell them to pound sand. Veteran QBs make good money, even if it's as a backup. And if they cut him he can go somewhere where the fans don't call him "Meh".
  20. Their best bet is to plan to get back to .500 in week 2.
  21. The only thing more embarrassing than this woman's stand is the amount of attention it's getting. One clerk in one county pulls this and it's national news for weeks?
  22. Sorry DC Tom Brady, but this guy wins.
  23. The NFL has attempted to exceed its power under the CBA and the courts have called them on it. And why the !@#$ would any fan want a lock out? Think real hard about what you're asking for here. You want to stop football, and most likely forego a season, for the sake of giving the commissioner carte blanche to impose ad hoc penalties however he choses without any recourse? Is that what your proposed protest is for?
