I think we're talking about two different things. There's a difference between cultural appropriation (which is apparently a bad thing now) and importing non-assimilating sub-cultures.

Given the way the EJ saga played out it's entirely plausible that EJ wasn't in Rex's plans but Whaley kept him on the roster. One of the people at my office was going to get the boot, but then the owner changed his mind. These things happen. The point is, just because it didn't happen doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't being discussed when he said it.

Western civilization is superior to other civilizations, it was built primarily by white christians, and you can't restore it by importing other cultures. Why is that offensive?

I have a theory that people don't really give a **** about 90% of the things they argue over in politics. Case in point, Four years ago the left treated Mitt Romney like the village idiot because he said Russia was a threat. Obama is caught on a hot mic telling a Russian official he'll have more flexibility after his election, advances unilateral disarmament, and sells Russia a shitload of uranium, and no one cares. All of a sudden, and without evidence, the Russians are scapegoated for Hillary's loss and now they're the greatest threat to world stability. To those on the left, forgive me if I doubt your sincerity.

That sounds a lot like my routine, but I don't always stop at 8, I put whiskey in the rotation, and I try not to work Thu and Sun into the same week. Rule of thumb: Don't drink more than 2 days in a row, and if you do, take the next 2 days off. If you break those rules you're going to have a bad time.

I actually feel more optimistic than I have in a while. Not for this year but for the future. The last few years the team has been run like a Madden franchise and every season has been an "all in" season. Sometimes you have to take a step back before you can move forward. Losing Gilmore, Woods, etc. hurts, but the added cap space takes the sting out of it. Freeing up cap space to gain the flexibility to build the roster to the coach's liking with an eye to year 3 is more likely to lead to sustained success than continuing the overanxious pattern of the last half decade.

The evolution of EJ: Top talent with franchise QB written all over him. Definitely a starter in this league. One of the best back ups in the league. Still the best QB from that draft. Best QB from that draft without a team.

I don't know if it's made its way north yet, but Devil's Backbone Vienna Lager is delightful. Ryan L Bills has access to it but no one who drinks Bud Lite would fully appreciate it.
