  1. Of course they’d give that impression in any way they can
  2. It’s only as good as the talent you are keeping. how many times did we bring back mediocre players but have off seasons filled with chatter about how the roster would be so much better because we would have the same mediocre player again?
  3. If he’s getting like 1500 yards a season as a decoy, I can barely imagine his healthy potential
  4. Yea but top to bottom their other 52 players are worse right now than ours were around him
  5. Likewise fair and wasn’t trying to say that was the only reason these teams were high on the list. But I do think it helps skew some of them a little bit there. Even with that only one of them really qualifies as run first and their leading rusher (both yards and attempts) was their qb. with the Saints, they did have a month of taysom and then an injured Brees- but even with that the split was still pass focused.
  6. Finley was acquired swapping a 6 for a 7 and has 850k salary... I don’t think it’s terrible to take a few swings in their situation and he’s cheap as hell to do it with. Especially at the timing he was gotten. even if watsons fully cleared and somehow plays for them the depth chart is Watson - a reliable cheap vet and a mid round pick with Finley cut. assuming no Watson they have a safe albeit boring starter and two very long shot prospects for a combined 7m in cap hit, roughly. it’s uncharted territory to have a franchise qb that was already pushing a trade end up in legal issues- I can’t say they are a train wreck in how they approached the personnel side so far.
  7. One point I’ll call out- playoff teams often have higher percentage of run plays because once you have a solid lead you end up bleeding clock. A team playing from behind most weeks will air it out more than planned on the opposite end.
  8. look at this pathetic loser that cares about us.... let’s get riled up by his opinion
  9. I will say that I enjoyed the stories that the bucs communicated with Brady in advance about the potential of drafting a qb and made it a nice soft landing. I’m sure their org enjoyed stirring the pot with that for a conference rival.
  10. honest question - we see one of these every couple years and I don’t recall any young guys having a major career impact from it. Might teams be overrating the red flag or are there some retirements I’m not recalling?
  11. the timing was it being a cut down date, likely not to give him the finger intentionally... but after a couple big issues, the indifference to his opinion could easily be an “are you serious” moment
  12. I mean, when you’re the franchise and you come out praising the depth guy and he’s immediately cut, it’s really dumping salt in the wound. When you can’t even get respect on the tiny stuff it can’t make him feel like his opinion matters on anything
  13. No but many are very close. and some don’t have the rookie qb contract And if many are slashing to get under the cap, we have less competition to sign these guys than ever and were better positioned than many to benefit from that if we choose.
  14. you don’t think 31 other GMs are saying the same thing about the extra $25m they could’ve spent and having to likewise readjust spending plans too?
  15. why couldn’t we do that when someone else could?
  16. the thing with rentals is we are transitioning into letting guys walk in free agency, so a late 2 for a 3rd compensatory is a good backstop for value loss
  17. writes off singletary, moss and Breida but thinks the answer would be a UDFA....
  18. I’d be shocked if a raw rookie beats out the seasoned vet given the lack of padded practices between now and the season.
  19. A bit of a cold for most of a day? it wasn’t fun but I bet you’ll survive
  20. the Denver D stinks? It would immediately be a 3 way log jam. Honestly with a hof qb, the raiders wouldn’t be too far behind either
  21. He had all the upside in the world but was still a huuuuuuuuuge long shot and that might be understating what a long shot he really was. glad he’s proving math and the Nfl wrong
  22. If you don’t love any one of them, my as well take two shots
  23. ive always been the loudest advocate of getting young OTs reps in that role instead of carrying such a specialized tight end that’s 100% a blocker. he’s a great prospect for that role. Even if he never goes out on a route for real
