  1. kamara and Thomas would be highly unlikely. MT is heading the recruitment committee currently. id circle defensive names on the roster if speculating. CJGJ for instance.
  2. it is possible that tweet is not 110% accurate. Not all are gospel. They may have given Watson the courtesy based on his interest in his home town and wanting to drive up other offers from the division rivals. Atlanta could be interested in the similar end game of hitting the Saints/panthers.
  3. they just restructured Matt Ryan creating 55M in dead money to move on this off-season. to get a 10+ year starter is still worth trying to maneuver that but it would be nearly impossible even in our very flexible age of cap manipulation it’d be 90M to have to shift around in dead money from Ryan and salary for Watson.
  4. yes, because you acquire talent via non qualifying methods and often see those guys through the expiration of their contracts so they later do qualify for you on the way out. minus the websites that can project them at they end of the qualifying window with over 95% accuracy
  5. because nobody writes that letter with the expectation of staying. hand your boss a letter saying you can’t wait to see what your career will hold two weeks from now and that you are appreciative of the opportunities he’s given you
  6. kamara, Thomas and a top 10 defense? I’d put the Saints up there I can’t see the falcons. The Matt Ryan contract makes it utterly impossible, right?
  7. Drama queens at qb this year. All over the league.
  8. I don’t think he’s a bad player, but surprised we are so far getting slower, generally will be the first to admit I overvalue speed… and not super stressed… but surprised we didn’t add any jets on either side yet.
  9. Kromer has turned some mediocre tackles into great guards. not holding my breathe but not a coach I’d rather have trying.
  10. They work the system and let contracts expire while signing non qualifying guys
  11. What exactly do you expect our rotational backups to suddenly be if signing affordable vets?
  12. frankly it’s cheap veteran CB3 money.
  13. missing the market on a relatively volatile asset isn’t suddenly being a joke - it’s an educated guess
  14. I want to see us treat mahomes like Brett favre was treated by ol gregggg in the championship game we need one more imposing guy on the edge.
  15. And still may be 3rd in their division and miss the playoffs.
  16. could hit market again after a mediocre year
  17. craziest deal of the day?
  18. Turns out the bills are also a team today. do you think we are back in the 90s or something?
  19. That may be a bit overstated still
  20. Do you think he didn’t know the market? He tested it. Surprised we gave this much but Vets that contribute get paid a lil bit, so it’s not unreasonable
  21. More importantly, there’s not a clear path to meaningful compensation if he was offered an impact player or pick, I think you’d be wrong… but that’s unlikely to come through and he’s not moving just to shuffle chairs aimlessly
  22. a) Watson IS the rebuild if you get him b) after all he’s been through, he might give consideration to things beyond just the absolute best roster today- he’s potentially a 10+ year piece im not saying the panthers have anything particularly appealing but I guess as a Clemson guy maybe it could be a softer landing spot where he has some goodwill?
  23. We probably aren’t. We are just deferring cutting him until the replacement is here
  24. I wonder if it voided the upcoming roster bonus. if not he will be about $1M in dead money to cut. Which isn’t horrible or anything; just noting it.
