Wasn’t able to see the game where I was at, looking forward to catching the replays though. A stat line of 4 for 51 sounds like a great start to his career.

The Fins could beat us just like the Cards almost did today, actually should have a better chance at it given they’re playing at home on a short week and a more talented roster. But Josh is also their daddy.

No idea, you certainly gave it a lot of thought

The wind element would scare me on that one today. I’m going w props on Ray Davis (5+ receiving yards and more) and Shakir (40+ receiving yards), and Dalton Kincaid TD.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread
strive_for_five_guy replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
My biggest question - Is Josh ready to take his game and this team to another level of play? I have a sneaking suspicion Josh wants to show a lot of people up this season (Diggs and others calling him overrated), and is in the best mental space and potentially physical state that he has been in maybe his career. Tomorrow is the first live test. -
The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
strive_for_five_guy replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right, but it also seems like you’re trying to downplay what has happened. There’s a reason the knee jerk reaction to the Bills trading a pick to the SB champs so that they could draft the fastest WR ever and someone they clearly had a 1st round grade on was disbelief. And the first piece of actual game evidence is so far supporting that reaction. -

If he gets two TDs a game for the rest of his career on only reverses and blown coverages, Worthy will get paid handsomely. -

Don’t forget the Chiefs also got a 4th round pick that they used on a safety in Jaden Hicks too. And for the Bills fans like yourself that have the rose-colored glasses about this move and are sitting here in denial about it right now, I think that’s a completely stupid mindset. Everyone is correct that only time will eventually tell who got the better part of the deal. But the initial view of it was that the Bills directly gave the Chiefs a weapon in the fastest WR ever, where Andy Reid is known for utilizing speed better than just about any coach. And first game in, Worthy goes out and scores two TDs both of which were over 20 yards. So the first piece of real evidence supports the view that it was a bad move for the Bills to have done that. There will be lots more evidence for or against this view throughout the season, but to not recognize what has happened so far is being irrational. -

Even if they didn’t like Worthy for their offensive schemes, they should know enough about what their #1 nemesis is going to want, the fastest WR ever, and not help them get that guy. But maybe McD is looking forward to the challenge of Rapp & Hamlin trying to protect over top and then Rice, Kelce & Pacheco tearing us apart underneath. -

Jessica’s husband also went to Williamsville North and Canisius. Do you think he accepts her as a Buffalonian enough? What is good enough for the City of Good Neighbors? https://people.com/who-is-taylor-gahagen-jessica-pegula-husband-7853530 -

I actually think overall, Beane has done a pretty good to great job with the roster. But in this specific instance, I have a real problem with the trade and think it’s perfect acceptable and rational to question it. Maybe time and his wiazardry will prove me wrong. But it’s okay to not bow to every move either Beane or McD make. -

I think it’s completely fine to have made an initial judgment at draft time, re-assess that judgment now, and then re-assess it down the road too. I HOPE that Coleman is a HOFer and that Worthy’s best game ever just happens to be last night. That said, I think there’s a lot of denial and rationalization of the Worthy trade happening right now, versus recognizing the evidence that we’ve allowed our nemesis to pick up the fastest WR ever, all the while knowing that Andy Reid has capitalized on that kind of talent over-and-over in his coaching career. -
I heard the average starting position in the preseason was even the 28 yard line, so even less incentive to risk a return if you have a kicker that can kick for the touchback.

if Coleman and Carter can ball out for the Bills and we eventually get by the Chiefs, I will be happy as a clam 👍 -

It’d be like giving Russia nuclear secrets in exchange for something. Yeah, they might figure this stuff out on their own eventually anyway. But, to help arm your nemesis with something that could come back to haunt us is what’s questionable. -

Agreed. When you’re as fast as Worthy AND get blocking like that, the TD looks easy. -

And even if we preferred Coleman for what we want to do over Worthy, does it make sense to allow the team we are trying to get past to have that weapon? If we don’t make the trade, it’s possible another team takes Worthy before the Chiefs get him. And at least we aren’t the ones to blame for it then. -

It’s completely rational. Before last night, it was already a questionable move to allow KC to move up and select the fastest WR ever. And then the same player goes out and gets a 20+ yard rushing TD and 30+ yard receiving TD. They were saying on WGR this morning that in past however many years, only five players have accomplished that feat in a game. Four of the five have been on Andy Reid coached teams, including the likes of DeSean Jackson and Tyreke Hill. It’s totally rational to have been skeptical of the trade when it happened, and at least continuing to be skeptical after last night, if not more so. It’s irrational to not be skeptical. -

There’s no doubt the crowd will be heavily backing Jess. Sabalenka will be really tough to beat, but would be an amazing moment if Pegula can pull off the upset.
