I think having the O line practice against a hopefully improved front 7 every week will help them as well. And by improved front 7 I mean,
A (hopefully) healthy merriman
The same old Kyle Williams
A Stronger and more experienced Troup, and carrington.
A hungry Jasper and Dareus
Speaking of Jones specifically, if a guy shows enough speed to get open, decent hands, good blocking skills, and is a good Special Teams player, you generally find a roster spot for a guy like that.
2 points being overlooked in Donald Jones's favor, is 1 he's great on Special teams, and 2 he's a really good blocker as well. And didn't we see him at some sort of wierd TE'ish role as well last season.
I love the Chris White pick. I think the kid is going to be looked back on as a steal. i don't think he's an OLB though. I think he is the heir apparent to Andra Davis at that thumper ILB position in the 3-4. I see Sheppard as the guy who'll eventually replace Poz as more of the 3 down do it all ILB.
I would like to point out that while Byrd's INt's decreased by a lot last year the man did force 3 fumbles, showing that he still has a nose for the ball.
I can live with a line of Bell-Levitre-Wood-Urbik-Pears. You keep Wang,Wrotto,Hairston,as backups. Add 1 more player for depth, and you have the makings of a very good power blocking line.
Good write up. The only thing I disagree on is about White. I feel like White has a legitimate chance to be a 2 down IL in the 3-4( In the Andra Davis model). The kid is a thumper and he's not afraid to stick his nose in there.
