maybin dressing- any thoughts?
mob16151 replied to racecitybills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did anyone see Scott tackling the crap out of Maybin? It was pretty lolz worthy. -
And I would be very upset if someone PM'd me one, if you catch my drift.

Totally unimpressed by Mallet right now

I agree with Thoner. Carimi is a RT/G at the next level. He has great physical strength, he just doesn't have the feet to play LT at the next level. And when he gets out of position in pass protection he tends to lunge, because he doesn't recover fast enough. -
Marcell Dareus and Nick Fairley playing right now
mob16151 replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which could also hurt our chances of taking Fairley(if you like him) because this has been far and away his best year. He hasnt really shown much the rest of his college career, kind of like the Dan Williams situationlast season. -
Disagree Poz has a seasons less of accrued playing time if I remember correctly. Thus making him less likely to be a UFA under any potential new CBA.

mob16151 replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why are we comparing Dareus to Maybin. Dareus is a 6 foot 3 280 pound 3-4 DE prospect. Maybin was 6-2 240 OLB prospect.Dareus's foot speed is very impressive considering his size, and strength. As to him shedding blockers, that's not his role usually in sabans defense. Dareus is supposed to stand up blockers not shed them. Right now IMO Darius is the best D line prospect since Ngata. I think he's that good. Edit: Dareus is actually playing at 306 pounds this season. -
Right now I'd say he's a 4th or 5th rounder. he has a ton of physical potential, live arm, super athletic, and seems intelligent. However he comes from a gimmicky offense, has a kind of funky throwing motion, and struggles at time taking some zip off the ball on the short and intermediate throws. Reminds me of Brad Smith in that he may be better suited at WR at the next level, unless you have 3 or 4 years to develop him.

Nice pick Colin. Now go away, you and your crappy ESPN commercials. -
Sadly I did feel the love there.

Mathison a lot about the cold, for a guy who played his College Football at Nebraska. -
http://www.mockingthedraft.com/2010/11/5/1795644/adrian-clayborn-2011-nfl-draft-scouting-report#storyjump Versatility: Able to play in the 3-4 or 4-3 defense as an end, tackle or left-end in the 4-3. Has potential as a Pro Bowl player at any of the three positions. Projects best as a 3-4 defensive end. Size/Length/Hand size: Is tall and lean. Could add bulk to his lanky frame. Doesn’t have the big bubble that is expected of an interior lineman. Has the frame and look of a defensive end. Has the height to disrupt passing lanes. Can get in the way of quarterbacks vision and release. Has the length to reach into the backfield when engaged by a blocker. Has a powerful punch that can knock blockers off their stance. Good article, well worth the read.

Way to selectively quote, I said even as a sub package guy. And Newton does have an NFL quality arm,and release. If you draft him he probably doesn't start day 1. But with the right Offensive mind, you can put him on the field, in a wildcat variant,a Pistol look, even give some spread looks, all it takes is a creative offensive mind.

Good to see james Brewer getting some love. I think he's only a Rt on the pro level though. Do you agree or disagree. And Cam Newton is tough to project into the NFL. With the right Offensive system he could have success right away. Even just as a sub package guy.

I went to school with a kid who's brother played college ball, and then went on to play pro football briefly(as a FB). The brother of this player was about 4 years younger than him. Well one day he accidentally grabbed the wrong lunch on the way to school. When he got to school, he was showing us all the pills, and the Syringe in this Lunch pack.Anyhow the next day he came back to school, and he literally had 2 black eyes. I asked him what happened, and he said his brother freaked out about him showing us the Medical paraphernalia in his lunch pack. So yes, Roid rage was very real. And if you don't believe me, I'll happily tell you who this player was in a PM. He was an NFL scrub and still used Roids.

Comments on Chargers Message board

I'm almost positive The Senator was being sarcastic. -
He might as well be, Bruce Allen has a reputation as a Yes Man for his Headcoach.
-
Fox and Woodley, are the only 2 that leap to mind. Both are linebackers.
-
To bad he can't do that either then. As an aside anyone see Cassell juke Kelsay today? Pathetic.

Which College QBs Are You Tracking?
mob16151 replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keep an eye on Russell Wilson and Tyrod Taylor as well. Wilson is a little undersized, but he's like a Doug Flutie clone. And Taylor has been up and down this year, but his physical abilities will get him on a NFL roster. -
So coming into the 2010 NFL season under new coach Chan Gailey the Buffalo Bills like all teams under going a regime change, brought in a bunch of new coaches. And so far the one guy on the staff who deserves to be spot lighted is QB coach George Cortez. Star-divide Mr Cortez is a long time professional football coach. However this is first time coaching at the NFL level. He does have 17 years of CFL coaching experience and 13 years of coaching at the college football level. However even with his lack of NFL experience he has coached Doug Flutie,Jeff Garcia,Dave Dickinson, and Henry Burris to CFL stardom. On the college level this guy helped turn Kyle Boller into a first rounder. And he coached the Aaron Rodgers guy. He's pretty good. Coming into the season many Bills fans expected him to work his guru magic on Trent Edwards. And in the pre season he did. Sadly though, once the regular season started Edwards reverted to norm, and found himself cut. Thankfully though ,another QB on the roster was able to take this veteran tutelage and elevate his game. I'm not going to rehash Fitz's stats for everyone again, I'm guessing you know them. So while Gailey takes his fair share of beatings around here, and deservedly so sometimes.(George Edwards I'm thinking of you) He deserves credit for thinking outside of the box on this one, and hiring a guy who has been over looked on the NFL level for whatever reason. And with all due respect to AVP, it's been nice seeing competent QB play. And it's been nice having the first competent QB coach in Buffalo since the Sam Wyche days.

Prediction: Fitzpatrick Looks Bad Against Baltimore
mob16151 replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well they might re sign 2 of them. And then we could just grab a guy like Eric Wright in FA or something I guess. Then no DB till round 5 or later. lol -
