Rd 3, Pick #78: WR Marquise Goodwin - Texas
....lybob replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+++++- totally do not understand this pick, maybe a nod to Mckelvin starting at CB and no longer on Punt returns and Kick offs ???? it seems like a high pick to use that way -
I'll take Margus Hunt and Terron Armstead I'm not nearly as confidant in our lines as Nix seems to be

Senator Roark: Power don't come from a badge or a gun. Power comes from lying. Lying big, and gettin' the whole damn world to play along with you. Once you got everybody agreeing with what they know in their hearts ain't true, you've got 'em by the balls.

nothing like an OC post, first you need about ten times the emotocons plus you have to explain to both the terrorists and the police the best way to do their jobs and the dire consequences they face if they don't listen to you.................oh and throw in some story about how you saved the day with hadoop clusters and massive horizontal expansion of the big data despite all the resistance from the old dinosaurs who just want to go using their Oracle like it's 2006 or something. -
What's with the Edge Rusher draft predictions?
....lybob replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have exactly 2 DEs and one will be 30, coming off an injury and has made double digit sacks twice in 8 seasons- an edge rusher is a definite need. -
well except for selectively picking data for a predetermined result, strangely weighting their data for a predetermined result, having a sloppy excel error , and not knowing the difference correlation and causation I'd say they did a fine job - and their middle school should be proud of the effort.................................................................. most amazing is countries used this study that was never even peer reviewed to make economic decisions that negatively effected tens of millions.

right there with you on Nassib but I understand why the divergence of opinion - right now we got ten QBs each with some strengths and some major flaws so our perception of which qualities in a QB are the most important - for me it's the ability to make something positive happen when the play breaks down ( OL fails in protection or WRs can't get open), from what I watched OL play for Syracuse was generally pretty good but when it did break down the best thing Nassib did was throw incomplete, the second best thing he did was take sacks, but he also threw bad interceptions and fumbled while trying to get away .

I've always perceived Canadians as polite, honest, caring people with loads of common sense and folksy wisdom but thanks to PPP my thinking has evolved past those stereotypes -
Bill Polian's top 4 qualities in a franchise QB
....lybob replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reason we are arguing over 3 or 4 QBs is because there are no obvious franchise QBs in this draft and our desperate need for said franchise QB changes none of these pig ears into a silk purse -
granted, but there seems to be a contingent on here who seems to think if you take Nassib with the 8th pick then he will be a franchise QB but if you take him at 41 or 71 then he will be a bum- as if the act of taking a QB early makes that QB better rather than you take a QB early because you evaluate that QB as superior to other QBs not only in a particular draft but also to other QBs in the NFL now.

1.Ziggy Ansah , Lane Johnson , Star Lotulelei 2. If Ziggy Ansah then Larry Warford , Justin Hunter, Ryan Nassib If Lane Johnson then Margus Hunt, Tank Carradine, Justin Hunter if Star Lotulelei then Margus Hunt, Tank Carradine, Justin Hunter 3. Cornelius Washington LB/DE, Barrett Jones OG/OC, Justin Pugh OG

If there was a deal to be made it'd have to be SF giving us their 1st pick31 and KC 2nd pick 34 allowing us to grab a QB in the bottom of the 1st round but while there are even more benefits (Aaron Williams gets to tryout for his best position FS and we save 6+mil against the cap) you have to consider that JB forces turnovers like crazy and to my way of thinking an int is as valuable as two sacks and a forced fumble is worth a sack and a half, so his five ints and four FFs is worth about 16 sacks, which is why he was the highest rated FA on many lists.

Joe B article on why we need to go SS and my response
....lybob replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills got seven sacks from the RDE position last year Moore 3 + Kelsey 2, + Merriman 1 and Anderson 1, seven sacks from the RDE position is pitiful and six of those sacks are gone I think that qualifies as a need - anyways the Bills aren't a playoff contender that needs a couple positions upgraded for a SB run, they are a bad team, and bad teams with any sense must go BPA I'm not saying you have to pick a guy with a 94 rating over a guy with a 92 rating if the guy with a 92 rating fills a position of greater need but you can't go a lower tier player to fill a space. My favorites in order are Ziggy Ansah, Lane Johnson, Dion Jordan, Star Lotulelei,Chance Warmack, Jonathan Cooper- DEs , DTs, OTs, OGs are the strength of this draft and personally I'd go early and often- if the Bills trade down then Vaccaro is on the list but again he is behind Warmack, Copper, D.J. Fluker , Geno Smith. -

Trying to figure out Buffalo's draft.

I like those first two picks - my first round pick preferences are Ansah , Johnson, Jordan, Lotulelei, Geno Smith, Warmack, in that order -

Which would you rather have Kolb, Branch and Brad Smith or Levitre that's the decision you have to make for yourself . -
