  1. We gotta' be in the stadium by like 11am for some reason so probably whatever they are selling at concession. Maybe a $7 slice of La Nova with the cup and char pepperoni? Maybe bring some Wegmans/DiBella's subs in our clear bags like a bunch of shmucks in case the only thing offered are those raunchy nachos? After fresh out the fire strip steaks and prime rib and wings every week this season it's going to be a sacrificial food day..........but someone's gotta' do it.
  2. Sure they do.........Stevie was a pig in sheeeee-it with this dysfunctional franchise. There have been some doozies over the years..........Moulds quitting in Miami......Phillips back-to-back personal fouls more recently.........many more...........but SJ13 getting an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in NE after Gailey had pleaded with him not to do his dumb celebrations.......and basically forcing Chan to bench him and the team then collapsing and blowing a big lead..........that might have been the most absurd case of player selfishness in Bills history. But some people loved the irreverence because they think rules are stupid.
  3. It's not factored into your equation..........but Addison was also a character signing. Shaq, even at his best, was always something of a character compromise. There was a time where they were so thin on defense(and so bad offensively) that they had to have guys like Shaq and Phillips around but they had choices last offseason and they chose wisely, IMO.
  4. I never banged the drum for the Bills to hire Anthony Lynn as their HC. Was I greatly disappointed in the Rick Dennison hire and did I want to retain the very successful 2016 offensive playbook they had? Yes and that opinion angered you and many others. McD did the right thing admitting the mistake immediately and firing Dennison after just one woeful season(including the worst QB'd game in NFL history). Lynn appears to be a Wade Phillips level HC. Initially inspiring and capable of getting production by adapting his schemes to the personnel like few can. But the message falls on deaf ears after a while when it's clear that the HC isn't next-level prepared. His mistakes this year were like a mirror image of bad-Wade. Some of you loved Wade as a HC. When things went wrong for Wade they went REAL wrong. But ultimately he was a hell of an assistant coach and so is Lynn.
  5. I think you better review the tape, bud. He had moments on the field where he was just totally out of control and hurt the team. That's not missed. Nice pass rusher........terrible against the run.........fun guy on social media........but either way the team is much more disciplined without him.
  6. Big Stuff was Dareus. Some fans just love irreverent clowns like Phillips and Stevie Johnson. One of the worst things about the drought was seeing a generation of fans who only knew losing learn to idolize losers like that who would selfishly put themselves in front of the team with stupid personal foul penalties and bulletin board material etc.. McBeane has done a good job managing a range of personalities but giving dudes like that big money makes it even harder to reign in their antics.
  7. As I said at the time......well done by McBeane not giving Shaq the 5th year extension. That's the only reason they got any good football out of him at all. Jordan Phillips was a long prior proven unaccountable dude on a contract run as well. They got the most out of both of them.
  8. The only name free agent I've put any thought into is the idea of Gronk coming home and filling the TE vacancy. Knows the EP system.........still pretty good and more reliable than what they have. Plus maybe G&G Fitness would run ads on WGR so we don't have to hear that Pacillo's Fitness guy with his preachy quote 2 minute commercials. "No mayin' steps in da same river twice....."
  9. The Lynn Bills were 7th in the NFL in scoring........lead the NFL in rushing AND plays of over 20 yards...........and had yielded the fewest turnovers by any team since the merger thru 16 weeks in 2016. The EJ/Cardale disaster in the finale tarnished that some but it was still the best offensive season the Bills had since mid-way thru the SB years. Under Lynn.......Herbert just had the best statistical season for a rookie QB in NFL history. The Bills system might be best left as it is.........but if Lynn doesn't get some good OC offers at least then something ain't right.
  10. Yeah Herbert had the most successful rookie season EVER by a QB. Chargers gonna' charge. But in this case I think it might be more about Tom Telesco getting to HIRE Brian Daboll rather than fire Lynn. GM Telesco and Daboll are HS buddies from St. Francis..........I'd be surprised if Daboll went anywhere else..........only issue is that, as you certainly know, the Chargers ownership may be even worse than 2000's Ralphy. Lynn did a great job early with that sh*t show organization but being a black HC without a long history of coordinating success he would seem to have very little chance of getting hired outright by an unfamiliar franchise as a HC again. His best shot to get back to a HC position is to go somewhere that the HC is on his last chance and maybe he can get an interim gig and win a HC job.
  11. Will the next person that sees anybody throw any shade at Bills fan Chad Kelly, point them out, and get them out of here. You don't live in Cleveland, this isn't TwoBrownsDrive!
  12. Good for Williams but what current NFL RB wouldn't score a TD on that play?
  13. Ask @Simon. After the "7-9 not good enough" press conference he couldn't have been fired soon enough.........and then literally wasn't fired soon enough for whatever reason. Not sure what the fixation with Whaley is around here is though............he was a pawn in the Buddy/Pegula/Russ/Marrone/Rex buffoonery in that period............a road scout hired by a road scout for an administrative position who himself had been hired by an old man whose rep was so tarnished from mistreating his managers that he couldn't get anyone fully qualified to come work for him. Ralph's GM's were scouts, his HC's were assistant coaches.
  14. I agree. It was exasperating when that was how it was in Buffalo. And each regime repeated the same type of mistakes. McBeane weren't immune. But they corrected a ton of mistakes with the second chance and didn't just keep making more..........learning and quickly pivoting from mistakes was not something we saw from fragile ego having, self-interested decision makers here for 2 decades. For all of the talk about how great the Dolphins made out with acquiring future #1 picks like they did from Houston.........replacing Tunsil and Fitzpatrick with similar level performers or better is not a given. Their roster deficiency got exposed some yesterday. It's not a given that they will spin all those picks into gold and Houston isn't necessarily far off.
  15. One thread for subjects like this.........and 20 threads of random hair-brained thoughts on the first page? Sounds about right.
  16. Antonio Williams is more like a very poor man's version of Karlos Williams. Straight ahead runner only.......no wiggle to his game........not very athletic.........opposite of an Austin Eckler who can beat you with the run or the pass. I mentioned in another thread that some fans were giddy about the future of Darick Holmes and Tim Tindale after the 1995 Dolphins playoff blowout.........you can't put much stock into what happens during broken football time. If so then Dean Marlowe would be getting a 5 year $50M+ contract this offseason.
  17. Yeah they can't trust him in very meaningful situations but it was fun to get to see that return. This game was very reminiscent of the 1995 playoff blowout of the Dolphins where all the reserves got to have big days. After that game a lot of people thought Darick Holmes and Tim Tindale were the future of the Bills run game.
  18. Oh definitely......he's the better athlete and receiver as well. And yeah, Denver couldn't get him to the curb fast enough after all those fumbled returns in such a short period of time.
  19. I would prefer a night game. Just an average weather afternoon in Orchard Park can get windy enough to create difficult conditions in the stadium. Industries where chemicals are sprayed or aerosol painting is done in WNY try to get that spraying in early in the morning OR........wait until the evening.......because that is when the wind is most likely to be at it's lowest velocity.
  20. The whole AFC bracket ended up the best it possibly could have at the start of this day.
  21. I think it was just the one-week-at-a-time approach and deliberate routine. They've had some dog-day stretches in every season but they have come earlier and earlier each successive playoff season. That's a credit to McD and also to Josh Allen for not losing focus.........it's something we've seen the Patriots do for 2 decades prior...........if your leaders don't get caught up in the moment then it's a lot easier to keep the team on point and improving.
  22. 12 wins predicted mouth where his money put he tossed his own salad
  23. Tua Tuna Fish The shrimp from bama delish Don't eat hip its fake
  24. Unemployable Was the Bills secretary Very defensive
