The only name free agent I've put any thought into is the idea of Gronk coming home and filling the TE vacancy. Knows the EP system.........still pretty good and more reliable than what they have. Plus maybe G&G Fitness would run ads on WGR so we don't have to hear that Pacillo's Fitness guy with his preachy quote 2 minute commercials. "No mayin' steps in da same river twice....."

The Lynn Bills were 7th in the NFL in scoring........lead the NFL in rushing AND plays of over 20 yards...........and had yielded the fewest turnovers by any team since the merger thru 16 weeks in 2016. The EJ/Cardale disaster in the finale tarnished that some but it was still the best offensive season the Bills had since mid-way thru the SB years. Under Lynn.......Herbert just had the best statistical season for a rookie QB in NFL history. The Bills system might be best left as it is.........but if Lynn doesn't get some good OC offers at least then something ain't right.

Yeah Herbert had the most successful rookie season EVER by a QB. Chargers gonna' charge. But in this case I think it might be more about Tom Telesco getting to HIRE Brian Daboll rather than fire Lynn. GM Telesco and Daboll are HS buddies from St. Francis..........I'd be surprised if Daboll went anywhere else..........only issue is that, as you certainly know, the Chargers ownership may be even worse than 2000's Ralphy. Lynn did a great job early with that sh*t show organization but being a black HC without a long history of coordinating success he would seem to have very little chance of getting hired outright by an unfamiliar franchise as a HC again. His best shot to get back to a HC position is to go somewhere that the HC is on his last chance and maybe he can get an interim gig and win a HC job.

Ask @Simon. After the "7-9 not good enough" press conference he couldn't have been fired soon enough.........and then literally wasn't fired soon enough for whatever reason. Not sure what the fixation with Whaley is around here is though............he was a pawn in the Buddy/Pegula/Russ/Marrone/Rex buffoonery in that period............a road scout hired by a road scout for an administrative position who himself had been hired by an old man whose rep was so tarnished from mistreating his managers that he couldn't get anyone fully qualified to come work for him. Ralph's GM's were scouts, his HC's were assistant coaches.

I agree. It was exasperating when that was how it was in Buffalo. And each regime repeated the same type of mistakes. McBeane weren't immune. But they corrected a ton of mistakes with the second chance and didn't just keep making more..........learning and quickly pivoting from mistakes was not something we saw from fragile ego having, self-interested decision makers here for 2 decades. For all of the talk about how great the Dolphins made out with acquiring future #1 picks like they did from Houston.........replacing Tunsil and Fitzpatrick with similar level performers or better is not a given. Their roster deficiency got exposed some yesterday. It's not a given that they will spin all those picks into gold and Houston isn't necessarily far off. -

Antonio Williams is more like a very poor man's version of Karlos Williams. Straight ahead runner only.......no wiggle to his game........not very athletic.........opposite of an Austin Eckler who can beat you with the run or the pass. I mentioned in another thread that some fans were giddy about the future of Darick Holmes and Tim Tindale after the 1995 Dolphins playoff blowout.........you can't put much stock into what happens during broken football time. If so then Dean Marlowe would be getting a 5 year $50M+ contract this offseason. -

Yeah they can't trust him in very meaningful situations but it was fun to get to see that return. This game was very reminiscent of the 1995 playoff blowout of the Dolphins where all the reserves got to have big days. After that game a lot of people thought Darick Holmes and Tim Tindale were the future of the Bills run game. -

Oh definitely......he's the better athlete and receiver as well. And yeah, Denver couldn't get him to the curb fast enough after all those fumbled returns in such a short period of time. -
I would prefer a night game. Just an average weather afternoon in Orchard Park can get windy enough to create difficult conditions in the stadium. Industries where chemicals are sprayed or aerosol painting is done in WNY try to get that spraying in early in the morning OR........wait until the evening.......because that is when the wind is most likely to be at it's lowest velocity.

I think it was just the one-week-at-a-time approach and deliberate routine. They've had some dog-day stretches in every season but they have come earlier and earlier each successive playoff season. That's a credit to McD and also to Josh Allen for not losing focus.........it's something we've seen the Patriots do for 2 decades prior...........if your leaders don't get caught up in the moment then it's a lot easier to keep the team on point and improving. -

Harsh.........but I think it needed to be said. Yeah there was a lot changing. He looked more physical after the bye but he still wasn't really making any big plays at MLB. Then we actually got a glimpse of Edmunds being used at the LOS on the edge against SF........and it looked promising. As @Simon mentioned they seemed determined in this NE game to use Edmunds more like they had early in the season and it brought back flashes of the worst in his play.

I hope we don't see much, if any, 5 wide. That just congests the passing lanes and then you end up playing dink and dunk passing game. 11 personnel (1 RB, 1TE with 3 WR) really creates ideal time and space for big plays in the passing game. In most sports.......having veterans in the playoffs is a big advantage and if Stills gets WR snaps I expect it will be at the expense of Gabe Davis. Gabe has been a dynamic rookie........a bunch of TD's, great separation numbers, big ypc............but he's also made some dynamically negative plays.......a dropped TD, several poorly played deep balls, a couple very untimely, drive-killing missed blocks and mid-field drops. He's done a lot of positive stuff but they might not be able to overcome him making a couple inexperienced gaffe's in a shootout playoff game.

Eh.......there's almost never 3 championship worthy teams regardless...........and it's always fun watching pretenders ND and Ohio State and Oklahoma getting their ***** kicked in after they pander for position all season.
