  1. I'm convinced this is either a cleverly disguised "dome" or "am I getting old or is it just everything" thread.
  2. Yep. The timing is absolutely perfect to demand the state cough up those brand new ill-gotten gains to fund a stadium. And do it before the cost of dealing with all the addicted gamblers in-state becomes more obvious.
  3. I'm inclined to definitely keep Zimmer if they can get him in that $1M range. I do expect Jordan Phillips to be released by Arizona and a 30 page thread about it, though..........and he might be looking at a minimum deal if he doesn't get someone to bite on paying him incentives. I'm on the sign Von Miller train.........I expect he will re-sign with the Rams though. I'd be interested in a Khalil Mack trade but think it would have to look like the Von Miller to the Rams trade.........multiple 2nd/3rd day picks.........not a first........and that might not incentivize Chicago to send Mack back to Buffalo. In the draft for DL I am most interested in a low investment big body like Marquan MacCall or Noah Ellis on day 3 to back up Harrison Phillips. Interested to see how Minnesota DE Boye Mafe moves up based on combine/workout numbers. He finished the season strong and then had a big Senior Bowl so he might no longer align with where the Bills might be able to draft him on day 2 or day 3. He would be a nice guy to add to the mix if you get a player like Miller or Mack and have him develop behind a similar physical type. Key is interesting though..........he was a potential #1 overall long-term projection pick early in his days at LSU..........definitely not lacking for physical talent/traits. Even if just for the Halloween party he throws.
  4. Actually, I do share quite a bit about our parties........so yeah, I guess I am. Enjoy your honeymoon lover-boy. (I'm still on mine 25 years later so there's my darling over-share) But try to remember the Tony Bolognaviches out there...........those who have ruthlessly clawed their way to the top only to find there is nobody to share a 2 for 1 Jimmy's John's sandwich deal with.
  5. If you are experiencing these symptoms it's probably: https://www.verywellmind.com/things-to-do-if-you-feel-a-loss-of-interest-5093337 or just text 42424 and enter APPEAL for a complimentary bottle of like NFL again
  6. Ramsey is definitely annoying and yeah there was surely satisfaction when he nearly blew that Tampa game and then when Higgins whiplashed him. And I am all about not spreading the virus but the neck gaitor when it's 75 degrees in the house and nobody else has a mask on was also. As for the short pass option...........Smudgy Perine isn't what I would have had in mind.
  7. Sometimes going for the jugular means having the patience to methodically call and make plays that give you the best chance against a defense. The Bengals offensive game plan......full of slow developing pass plays.......made little sense. The Higgins TD versus Ramsey was just a broken play that would have been flagged and then overturned by the sky judge in every prior game this season so they really just caught a break on that. Credit to them for taking advantage of the Rams inexplicable choice to blitz there.........but in reality Ramsey had that one well covered. And as @Hapless Bills Fan mentioned earlier the pic of Chase running past Ramsey begs the question did Chase OPI him to get to that point as well. 4th and 1 and they didn't have a good short pass option?
  8. Yeah I felt that there was no way that the refs were going to let the Rams go 4 and out in a goal to go situation if Cinci was still clutching and grabbing.........as both teams had been allowed to play all game. Two ways to look at it...........that is was just BS letting the refs influence the end of the game like that. Or realizing this could happen and going for the jugular all game instead of playing/coaching yourself into a tight game. It's my opinion that most close games are tentatively or poorly played and coached into existence.
  9. The level of play was on par to a November regular season game between two "in the hunt" level teams, IMO. Lot's of unforced errors and wasn't a desperate sense of urgency and they seemed to fall into a lull where they were comfortable punting back and forth to each other in the second half. You aren't always going to get a good game or a close game in the SB. But what I always hope to see in a SB is greatness on display that really shows you why at least one of these teams is there. Last years SB was a blowout but Tampa absolutely played their best game. Maybe the way to put it is that if you were a college football coach who is too busy recruiting to see NFL games and only saw THIS game.........you wouldn't think you were missing much.
  10. Yeah that makes sense........though Brown isn't a great pass protector. Norwell is a former Ohio State Suckeye so Cinci might be a very attractive destination for him.
  11. He's been a guy I've penciled in as the 9th DL..........a backup to Phillips and a mid-late round rookie at DT1T and 3T and DE.............and as you said he's a Rousseau fan/supporter. He'd have to be cheap though. He's not a playmaker anymore.
  12. We had a fairly large group watching the game together and a couple of our younger Bills fans were cracking us up...........they thought Mary J Blige might be Dolly Parton and that 50 Cent had a 50 on his chain cuz he was 50 years old. Jennifer Lopez had that commercial with the open dress and they were like who this old lady and why she got her t!tties out? They also made some awesome steaks using techniques they learned on TikTok. We had a lot of fun watching the game and even got some laughs out of the poor quality of football. If I was just watching it alone I might have set a 30 minute alarm and nodded off in the 3rd quarter though. You could almost see the bad football coming.
  13. If this warms your heart........well, that's good.......you do you.......get it where you can. But PDA'ing......or complaining about a significant other or ex for that matter........in front of thousands of strangers and a few people you actually know well on TSW and jock sniffery gifts like this are two things I don't even want to think about. I went thru the young women trying to impress me with autographed jerseys and footballs thing...........it's awkward when you don't care about those kind of things and then have to act overwhelmed or get a trophy case to display stuff you don't want. I finally had to let the over-gifters know.......I appreciated the gestures but I just root for the laundry and don't really care much about whether I would like said players off the field or care what they even do when not playing football.......... so don't spend copious amounts or exercise yourself to attain personalized Bills gifts for me.
  14. Yeah if I recall correctly the Chargers and Colts would have both been in the playoffs if the season ended after 16 regular season games. They would seemed to have provided much better competition in the WC round than sorry-ass Pittsburgh and an uninspiring Oakland team. The extra game probably actually watered down the field a bit in this instance............though LAC and Indy had their chance and failed to win in week 18.
  15. That is hilarious.........but in fairness: 1) No QB who had been a Bills starter or would become one later has been the starting QB for a SB winning team 2) Just as nobody who had been a Bills HC or would later become one has won a SB to date. You'd think one of the two would have happened.....Ferragamo and Bledsoe had started on SB losers before joining the Bills.........Rob Johnson and Bledsoe were backup QB on SB winners........closest they got to either 1 or 2 though was probably when Ralph tried to pay Mike Shanahan and Bill Cowher top dollar to come out of retirement.
  16. Yeah he's not a statue at all..........but he definitely keeps his eyes locked downfield and holds the ball in the pocket looking for the deep shot........and he has a great, deep WR corps..........and that causes a lot of his own sacks. Bengals seem to dial up a lot of deeper throws as well. Still no idea what they were thinking on that 4th and 1 that sealed the game.........didn't appear to be much option underneath.
  17. Tampa/Dallas was an even bigger ratings matchup and they chose that for the opener this past season.
  18. As I alluded to.....the two teams that got byes probably weren't worthy #1 seeds.........TN in particular was probably the 4th or even 5th best team in the AFC..........in this case both #1 seeds came from very weak divisions.........whether that also relates to extending the schedule it's hard to say in just one season but when there is only 1 bye the odds that a less deserving team is the only team to benefit from the system is increased.
  19. I do think that the teams will adjust to the extra game and the lack of a second playoff bye team and it will eventually become an afterthought............but like the rookie wall........I think these teams hit a wall in the championship games and stayed hit. I do recall the 1978 season when they expanded to 16 games the title games were terrible..........but at the time the Steelers and Cowboys were miles ahead of the teams in their conference and ended up playing a very memorable Super Bowl. The next season was a sloppy playoffs with scrubby Buccaneers and Rams teams meeting in a lousy the NFC title game and the Steelers then looking old and tired in the Super Bowl and needing a big 4th quarter to finish off a Rams team that was a shadow of the better Chuck Knox Rams teams of the 1970's.
  20. There have been plenty of uncontested SB's...........we certainly know that..........but usually ONE team looks like they actually deserve the Lombardi. What this game reminded me of was SB XL.......the Pittsburgh/Seattle game..........where both teams played poorly but one of them had to win.
  21. Here is a question for you........did you find the Bills 2017 regular season highly entertaining? All those nail biting finishes brought to you by 60 minutes of Jauron Ball. Bad football with a close ending is different than a great football game. This SB was sloppy. The OL's were gassed, the QB play was shabby(Stafford even tore OBJ's ACL for him with a bad pass), some inactive Bengals dude ran on the field in his jammies and might have killed a drive, a guy who hadn't dropped a pass all season drops a bunny to help the Rams get the ball back........the list of 's was long.......... and then the refs let both sides get away with everything until the game was on the line and started raining flags........otherwise a second half of futility where neither side looked like they wanted to win the game ends in a much uglier 4-and-out for the Rams.
  22. Yep........what I saw were two worn out OL's..........having to carry all that extra weight those guys are naturally the least physically fit players on the team and they basically have to play every snap all year............I think the wear and tear and fatigue really showed on both teams. Maybe the Rams even more than the Bengals. The running game in the NFL now is all about the OL play.
  23. I certainly don't expect Mike Brown to spend to the cap. But he is 86 years old and has a true franchise QB that he needs to keep happy and healthy so if EVER he is going to spend to the cap and then re-structure beyond it.......like basically every other team would do for Joe Burrow.........it would be in the next few seasons.
  24. First of all........I was a proponent of the extra game and I do believe eventually that expanded rosters, 18 games and 2 byes will happen. But in the first season with both the extra game as well as the 2020-instituted extra playoff team.............I think the mental and physical fatigue really showed at the end. The NFL got close games..........but for real football fans it was a sloppy finish in both the championship games and SB. OL and QB play was particularly weak. A couple observations: 1) This season both #1 seeds came from divisions without another playoff team. That has happened in shorter seasons too but this time neither was seen as a dominant favorite to reach the SB, which seemed very unusual. 2) The best teams........I would argue Buff/KC and Tampa/LAR all had 4 game paths to winning the SB and met in the divisional round. Only the Rams survived..........and barely.
  25. Rams were lined up with double 3 techs and nobody over the center for much of the game and Cinci still only rushed for like 78 yards............so that is an incorrect assessment.
