  1. That combined U and Bills connection..........and for the owner Daboll having a very good rookie HC season. If he gets offered the job he should absolutely take it. Division in transition. No guarantees he will come out of next season looking like any better of a prospect or get better offers.
  2. Do you really think the front office hasn't gotten its due time and again for the past few years? I can see the coaching staff getting added props for this year in particular..........Daboll was "bad year Sam Wyche" for stretches of last season(and good year Sam Wyche for the Giants this season) and that put them on the road in the divisional round. I think McDermott and Dorsey did a better combined coaching job this season...........working together thru a more difficult schedule and getting more out of lesser/diminished talent in the receiving corps. But I didn't love the draft.........the free agent decisions were too heavily toward the defense...............and worst of all I think their approach took a great physical toll on Josh Allen this season. Two straight years of Josh Allen having to play both QB1 and RB1 to win despite a massive investment in defense is an indictment of personnel decisions on that side of the ball.
  3. A number have had longer, more dominant, convincing stretches this season though...........which is the norm for a SB winner. But plenty of teams have won SB's with less consistency let alone dominance........most recently the past 2 SB winners the 4th seeded Bucs and Rams.
  4. There was an expectation from a lot of fans that this season would be a victory march from beginning to end.......like the year the Eagles had until the last month of the season or the roll that the Niners have been on. It wasn't that. Some players had excellent stretches of the season but amazingly the only 3 players on the entire roster who played to anticipated individual expectation or above and did it all season were Stef Diggs, Matt Milano and Sam Martin. But the whole was greater than the sum of the parts this season..........which is a different way to be entering the playoffs than the prior 3 seasons.
  5. They were the #1 red zone defense in the NFL entering yesterdays game (KC had the lowest rated red zone D in the NFL this year). The Bills finished with the 3rd most turnovers caused with 27..........so they actually did cause a lot of turnovers..........and they were 13th in sacks per game so still above average in that regard too.
  6. 5 of the starting back 7 defenders are playing on lucrative contract extensions(Edmunds and Elam aren't but are both first round picks).............2 firsts and 2 seconds spent on DL while Miller, Jones, Settle and Phillips were all signed to free agent contracts. To suggest they haven't spent far more assets on the defensive side of the ball would be ridiculous.
  7. I'd just like to say that it's unfair that Brandon Beane has never had his balls washed relentlessly since 2019 by Bills fans and local or national media and you just NOW want to show him and his unheralded team of never mentioned as future GM's some appreciation. SMH
  8. So you DON'T want a new all-encompassing draft thread every day? What kind of draft fan are you? Oh.......I get it.......you were planning to "drop" a Deuce Vaughn thread on us tomorrow weren't you?
  9. The "May 2022" version of @eball would be disgusted with you turning sh!t heel! How dare you mock Gabe now!?
  10. 1. NFL teams don't make money entertaining fans with anything but football play. The objective is to get you inside and bore you into buying food and merchandise. They weren't going to go crazy distracting fans from their spending by providing a bunch of Damar-related entertainment. 2. One very noticeable aspect: A LOT more women in the crowd. That more empathetic half of humanity is also loaded with those who are attracted to drama. But when it comes to down-to-down give a sh!t about football and being situationally aware of when to make noise........they just aren't the same as a house full of half-inebriated dudes. So overall it wasn't an outrageously juiced crowd. And I know this much.........if Damar is a heterosexual........he is going to need a team of personal assistants to keep track of the women that will be throwing themselves at him for the foreseeable future.
  11. Yeah I'm not pointing out how random the post is...........I just don't want to have fun! If people don't want the existing draft threads to be long because they think their just-for-fun hot takes are too valuable for such an indignity............we should just start a daily draft thread to prevent the LAMP'ers from sharing their randomness. I suggest OP change title to Draft prep countdown day 108(focus Dalton Kincaid.....no relation to Ruben)
  12. Yeah GB or Detroit were playing better ball in the second half of the season and posed a bigger threat in the playoffs by A LOT........now the Niners are going to tear Geno a new one...........but in fairness the Seahawks got there because they didn't start off the season like trash the way LaFleur and Meathead Campbell teams did. Someone has to hire Ben Johnson as a HC just on the potential upside. The work he did with that group was one of the more impressive jobs we've seen by an NFL OC in recent years.
  13. Nobody south of Ontario thought Flutie was being handed the Bills starting QB job when they signed him. Butler had collected two QB's who he liked a lot in Todd Collins and Billy Joe Hobert to battle it out to replace Kelly........there was no reason to think that, at the very least, the Bills QB job was going to be similarly contested.
  14. Man, if you hate this "miserable forum" so much why don't you quit? Fan haters/blamers are the wife-beating/dog kickers of pro sports fandom.
  15. Yeah I don't see the Woods comps other than the uniform number..........which was a common thing to hear this summer..........that he reminded them of Woods, not realizing they were just remembering Woods wearing that number. As for what "very fast" is for a WR in the NFL..........he's not that. He projected as a slot only guy because of very short-arms and modest speed........but showed excellent run after catch and contested catch work at Boise. Straight speed-wise I'd put him in the Beasley category because we all know the NFL has since sped up the track at Indy......which is why a 4.43 at the combine is basically only good enough to get you in the top 15 WR participants now. But he's not the same type of super-quick, springy athlete that Cole Beasley was coming into the NFL....... instead he projects to be more physical and more like a RB after the catch.
  16. A lot of Bills fans...........most of whom are watching the game from a couch.........love to see the Bills playing in sh!tty cold, wet or snowy weather.........they act like bad weather is going out of style or something. Once the regular season goes to 18 games the paying customers will have a bunch of those games to attend and endure every year......even if the Bills go 0-18......because January is the coldest month of the year in Buffalo and Nov-Jan is the most likely time for horrific snow storms. The regular season used to end in mid-December for a reason. One AFCCG at a neutral site with nice weather would be OK. As that ref said in the Bills/Bears game..........all of the worst weather games he's had to work were in Chicago. It's windy as hell by that lake. That's why they are building a dome in the suburbs next.
  17. There are dozens of mock draft sites........all with people who put a lot of effort into it..........you could start a thread every day about a new first round mock that was posted. Literally.
  18. It sucks that he is pretty useless now because of an injury that occurred with him making the senseless decision to lunge at a QB at the end of a game that wasn't a contest anymore when he had no chance of tackling him.............but poor decision making and being injured are the two primary reasons he's never played up to his potential. You get what you get with Jordan Phillips. Maybe he takes the shots in the playoffs and can play better thru the pain.
  19. He's not like Robert Woods........you just feel that because he wears his number. Woods was a tremendous, smooth intermediate route runner. That was his game and that synced up perfectly with intermediate throw specialist Jared Goff in McVay's offense in LA. Shakir is a short route and contested catch guy. He isn't very fast but he gets to his top speed very quickly after the catch, which makes a huge difference in getting YAC. That was a great play he made yesterday.........the Bills need more of that. But he needs to learn the art of "late hands" further downfield if he wants to be very productive being a guy who isn't going to get a lot of separation. His "fair catch" attempt in the end zone got a would-be TD deflected by a DB with his back turned who otherwise had no idea where the ball was.
  20. 1. Smurfs are the blue shirt, white pants, white helmet looks. 2. Thankfully..........bury the pathetic grazer
  21. The one's that don't want to live in a cold, snowy climate and have options?
  22. First ballot HOF'ers just entering their prime are hard to find............but it's always surprising how many players become available.
