  1. I like Flowers a lot too. In fact I'm not sure he isn't right on par with Addison as a prospect. Some folks just can't get off his size as a weakness. He's just a tad north of 5'9" and weighs 182 pounds. That's only one inch less and just a couple of pounds lighter than Antonio Brown. What if he becomes AB (without the head case)? Are people going to complain about his size then? Dubs. And while many feel that this WR class is "weak" I'm sure some valuable starters at that position will be drafted this year. Addison won the Belitnikoff in 2021 while at Pittsburg a year the class is said to be so much stronger. He can play - and at a high level. JSN is going to be a great slot receiver, guaranteed 80 catches, 1000 yards every year including year one. More than half the good nfl WRs are smaller guys and that may well be the direction the game is headed. There just aren't that many alpha dogs out there. Mind you I'm not complaining either if the best TE in this years class is there at 27 and we take him. Or Bijan. Point is with likely first round runs on QB, DB, edge, there should be some excellent players to choose from at positions of need. I just don't want them to outsmart themselves again ala the Bernard pick. That TooToo guy worries me. He's so smart, such a process oriented guy etc...sounds exactly like Bernard. So if Bernard was a fifth round pick taken in the third maybe TooToo who is projected in the third will be a first round pick on McD's board. Please God no.
  2. His “accuracy” reminds me of Josh when he first came into the league. When his mechanics are good he is accurate. Like Josh was. I think inconsistent rather than fatally inaccurate. As for as the mental side of things I suspect, like most QBs coming into the league, hes got a ways to go.His physical ability is elite. I would love Darnell in the third.
  3. He’s the guy as far as I’m concerned. Josh Allen 2.
  4. Didnt yet see what his 40 time was. if as some have projected hes a 4.5 40, we would have an outside chance in the second. but he could go a few spots before that pick. Reminds me a little of George Pickens who went later second last year. Greg Cosell likes Tillman. He also liked Pickens a lot.
  5. Tillman is interesting. It’s possible the Bills just dont think they need another undersized receiver. If so this is one big boy who should be available in later rounds.
  6. i dont know that JSN will be there at 27. No question if hes still the 2021 guy you are getting a top shelf slot receiver who is plug and play. I think he may be a Raven, esp if as I suspect Lamar is history in Baltimore. My issue with him is I see Shakir as our slot guy and he can be a good one. So I would prefer a wr who can bring something different as a playmaker. Also just throwing it out there but some observers feel that JSN will not be the same YAC guy in the pros. If there is a drop off (reasonable to expect) the question is how much.
  7. not good in pass pro - yet
  8. Confess I'm a little surprised by these times. Flowers thought he'd run in the low 4.3s. If this pushes them down great.
  9. He's short, 5'9". But he just put on some weight (12 LBs) so he's up to 182 LBs. Weight wise that puts him in the same class as most of the rest of this generally smaller class. I think he'd be a great # 2. Still prefer Addison. One of those guys will probably be there.
  10. Don't disagree on TE. Flowers is expected to run in the low 4.3s as well and under no circumstances is he limited in his athletic traits. Both he and Addison are great athletes. Hyatt has no proven ability as a route runner. He ran all of four routes in college, all vertical. The vol offense was schemed to give him a free release all day long. That's not happening in the pros where much better DBs will be pressing, jamming, punching. In terms of proven ability Hyatt is to me a one trick poney. Maybe he will develop into a Will Fuller (without the head case) but even then I think both Addison and Flowers are likely to have more impact sooner.
  11. JMO but I think Flowers and Addison are on a whole different and higher level as pro prospect receivers. Also, Diggs is getting a little up there in age so that you have to think about his successor as the team's # 1. That's certainly not Hyatt imo. To me he is a high risk of busting while Addison and Flowers are much safer picks. I can just barely remember when we drafted a big receiver called Hardy (I think) ahead of DeSean Jackson.
  12. This makes sense to me. In any event, whether he deserves it or not, some team(s) will want to pay him big time and the Bills will be unable to compete even if they wanted to. Our next mlb is going to be a rookie or free agent. I'd love Wagner for 2 years.
  13. If the Bills are prioritizing an explosive WR who can line up outside as a vertical threat but still operate efficiently at all three levels it looks to me like the choices are Addison and Flowers. They are undersized but given their lightning quick release and ability to separate this is more relevant to durability than ability to perform. One of them, probably Flowers, will likely be there at 27.
  14. I think it's fair to say that no one player in this draft has the potential to help Josh out more than Bijan. Josh would no longer be RB#1 in our O and Bijan catches anything thrown his way. The other big helper is Addison but I actually think Robinson is more likely to be there at 27. If they were both there (neither is likely to be there, Bijan will go 26 or earlier imo) I would pick Addison and draft an RB in the later rounds.
  15. Well in fairness they literally never threw him the ball at Ole Miss.
  16. I think he can make sense if there at 27. If the TE is a really good blocker you are bolstering your o-line. To the extent also a contributor in the passing game you are helping Josh in more than one way. Of course a guy like Kincaid will probably cost your first pick. I think in the long run you might be as well or better served by taking one later in the draft, I would like D. Washington in the third, and use earlier picks elsewhere. But the TE group is strong and the WR group is not the greatest so maybe TE is a better value pick earlier on.
  17. I think I know what I would like in terms of approach and some individual players but of course I probably won't get what I want. 1 Addison (too many WR needy teams and he's just too good to last). So maybe another potential difference maker at WR might be available. 2. IOL, Avila or Cody Mauch. Both can play multiple O-line positions. Mauch looks inbred and is hobo level disheveled but he is likely a 10 year starter. Not much upside but the floor is high enuf. 3. Darnell Washington (it's like another really good O-lineman). He's a fantastic blocker, can be an option for Josh in the passing game, will enable TE #1 to run more routes and will strike fear into the hearts of all adversaries. 4. You can maybe find a couple of safeties in the 4th who have high upside but are works in progress. Jammie Robinson, Sidney Brown. Lets see if McD can coach them up. 5. The RB class is extremely deep and talented. You can probably find exactly what you need in the fifth round. I like Johnson as a power back but there are lots of guys who can bring pass pro, run inside the tackles, have speed and can even project as three down backs at the next level. Let DS walk and draft one. 6. A speculative edge rusher or LB? Of course everything will be impacted by moves the team will make in advance of the draft. And I'm assuming Tremaine is not going anywhere in 2023. If he's gone the Bills may look to the draft for a replacement. Actually I'm not sure McD will be able to control himself if Branch and/or Johnson (the safety) is still on the board at 27 (which is likely).
  18. Hard to disagree with what McD said. I wonder if he has any views regarding the offense?
  19. They've got Rich Eisen, a 40 specialist.
  20. I agree that you would also add an offensive lineman in the draft or FA. Maybe the guy in Baltimore.
  21. Draft an outstanding blocking TE (who btw I think can probably surprise as a weapon) and maybe Knox gets to run more routes. I assume that partly accounts for Beane's apparent interest.
  22. My guess is that he goes in the second round or early third but if he's there for us in the late third, depending on who exactly we have chosen in the first two rounds, I'd be good with him. He's a tremendous blocker and while he hasn't been used much in the passing game he's a nightmarish mismatch especially if he can hit the seams, as some observers say he can.
  23. As a defensive specialist do you really think McD has the knowledge to contribute anything to the O? And what is it exactly that McD needs to do to improve Dorsey's game?
  24. Or maybe Jammie Robinson in the fourth.
  25. JMO and I could be wrong but it looks to me as though Frazier's sabbatical was a mutually agreed separation orchestrated with the respect due a senior member of the coaching confraternity and someone everybody seems to like personally. I sorta think Frazier would be signing a new contract with the Bills if we had won the Super Bowl. I also get the feeling that the Bills are sensitive to the fan bases' displeasure with the disappointing performance of the D, especially in the playoffs (but actually not limited to the playoffs). When the prevailing opinion of many observers is that changes are necessary how would signing Frazier to a new contract look - it would be understood as sending the message that nothing was changing, even if that was not necessarily the intention. I don't think that's the message the Bills want to be sending. It would reinforce the suspicion that this coaching staff was basically just living off the fat of the land without a plan or the will to make difficult decisions needed to improve on the results. If that's right, then I take this to be an acknowledgment that a change of direction is necessary. IMO they now need to follow through. Along with many others I feel that the emphasis needs to be on developing the offence. With FA and the draft we will be getting an early heads up on what their plans may actually be. Of course if a year from now we are in the same place with no steps taken to change course then these guys need to go away. All of them. That's how it works, and should work, in this business. As to whether there is now an opportunity to turn things around I believe that there is. The Bills are a good team. You just cannot lose 1 1/2 pro bowl safeties, an all pro corner and a HoF pass rusher and not have it hurt big time. I don't really have a problem with the defensive scheme as such, if that's what they want to run. Its more the in-game alignments and playcalls that sometimes appear to be problematic, and clearly there are a few personnel issues that need to be resolved/improved. This administration has in fact bought itself a reprieve. It would be well advised to make good use of it.
