  1. So there appears to be a left/right agreement that wage gap is one of the primary issues facing our country and you see the elimination of collective bargaining as part of the solution?
  2. Dead on the money yes... ..he may have posited a reason for Trump and Brexit victories.....doesn't mean that either are the answer.....
  3. No that is pretty much right on...of course you dont get it do you.... Do you guys ever try to understand how things work? There are two types of bankers...those who want steady predictable environments...and those who want to gamble. The gamblers win no matter what happens...the others win when the future is as predicted. Guess who wants Dodd Frank undone...the bankers I work with don t....they like the current environment.... To spoon feed you....the economy did just great in regulated conditions pre 1999, proceeded to melt down when unregulated ..then did just fine again in the Dodd Frank era What is the basis for removing it....its not based on economic performance...so then what would it be? Perhaps you can respond to my point
  4. I agree...the USA HC system is broken...the ACA is a duct tape and spit solution to use the existing structure to cover everyone and delete the inequities such as women paying more and pre-existing conditions. My point is - take a clean sheet of paper - throw out the VA, Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, employer requirements... Design a system that takes into account risk pools, buying behavior and leverage it with capitalism.... I think it would be the biggest improvement to our economy we could make.... I can't believe we as citizens and elected officials (well I can guess why they go along with the status quo) put up with what we have....if cars cost twice as much for us as the rest of the world due to an antiquated purchasing and dealership system....would we put up with it?
  5. Banking regulations eased in late 90's - Dow at all time high - 10,000 8 years later financial meltdown - Dow craters at 6500 - economy in meltdown Dodd Frank introduced in 2010 - Dow at 10,000 2017 Dow at all time high of 20,000 - economy humming along 2017 Get rid of Dodd Frank - just add tax cuts for good measure The GOP has literally no idea what to do....
  6. Snowflake...what a great term....love it....worlds biggest snowflake is now president.....BTW - still not a democrat....just looking for leaders who produce results and aren't hypocritical...don't care where they come from
  7. Poor widdle snowflakes upset by a commercial.....lets have a pity party...
  8. .Well...there is that collective bargaining thing....
  9. Not sure where you are getting 60 percent...I actually googled this and the RCP average was 49 disapprove 42 approve... Tossing out your left wing glee...I see the fate of the midterms based on his success...unless he has some geopolitical strategy that only he seems to understand...can't see us going "up" in that category...as soon as Scotus and the AG get settled - you are going to see a long ugly fight over the periphery of religious rights...which are dear to some - but don't effect our pocket book That gets us to pocket books...I would love to see him address what I feel he won on...the forgotten rural areas....I guess the new host of the apprentice is more important... I consult for banks on risk management of large loans....the banks are already changing the lending profiles due to the uneasiness surrounding the DT presidency...as well...if you were to listen to the risk managers on the inside...sell your stock... We shall see...
  10. Talk about broken records...if you don't know that the template of the ACA was the brainchild of the Heritage Foundation and championed by Newt Gingrich in the 90's - I don't know what to say to you... From what I understand regarding the "GOP plan" in its current progress....they are quickly understanding that health care does not behave by simple "free market" rules...you have to take into account actuarial risk pool theory, preventative coverage and its long term cost curve, buying behavior in high deductible formats.... The health care savings account plan Ryan talked championed doesn't work.... I will give the GOP credit - they are admitting the realities of the daunting task and the parameters that govern health care coverage....
  11. Funny because the ACA is the old GOP plan......And the GOP plan is......
  12. To do that would probably require the US being better economically, internationally, and with more social comity....what gives you any sense that any of this is going to happen....please give examples....be interesting to understand
  13. Or conservative snowflakes during Obama
  14. Fella, There is no one (left/right/Hollywood/Peoria) with experience and knowledge in Border Security/Illegal immigration who thinks that a wall is money well spent or productive. If it worked - I would be for it - want to stop illegal immigration - issue work cards - done. The only benefit this wall seems to give is it gives DT fans an opportunity to argue. Read your post - you can't point to a body of research that shows this is a good idea. But you take the easy way out and rehash the old BO/HC/liberal storylines....well done. In fact, that is DT in a nutshell - he is a living sihtshow...sure the redemption you feel at the "left" going crazy must feel good - but that is all you are getting out of the deal - it is going to be an extremely hollow victory. You know that....and I know you know it...come on... EDIT PS: So just read that DT is now going to put a blanket 20 percent tariff on all goods from Mexico - please...please...LA...show me something that doesn't refer to HC or Obama again that points to how this is going to end well...wonder how FORD feels about this? DT is an dangerous amateur - this is how he treats his best friends....can't wait till he deals with Russia...I mean China
  15. Its been 2 weeks....so what is the over under on the Clinton Obama rehashing? 2018? 2019? I blipped through this thread and in no time it devolved from "The Wall" to talk about transgendered rights.....as DT would say....SAD. All you have to know about the wall is this: The GOP conservative congressman from TEXAS whose district has border says "The Wall" is the stupidest thing he could think of, won't support it and the money could be best spent elsewhere... For some reason things won't paste - so just google Filemon Vela
  16. Nah...this forum is pretty much a circle jerk of like minded people who enjoy the jerk
  17. Hey Holmes...try to get the point before you fall back on sucking the teat of Hillary bashing... Read it again....the point isn't about Trump - but rather how people were so willing to follow a rich pompous ass who couldn't say anything straight about anything....because they though he was sooo smart I would add this...There came a moment with people who did business with him where they finally realized that everything...everything...the guy said was a lie,,,, its been a lie all along...
  18. I worked one time for a guy who got rich and decided he was going to become a developer. He was very confident of his abilities (after all he was rich) - he was just like Trump - he was seemingly incapable of telling the truth about the simplest things. Hey - what was the weather like last week - innocuous...he couldn't tell it straight. Funny part was people just followed him - after all he was rich - he must have some superior intellect and strategy to what comes out of his mouth - because he is rich and pompous and we can't keep up with his intellect...he is so far ahead of the curve.... He was not good at developing and thought he could intermingle funding and everything he did would be a success....he was literally run out of town. People who did deals with him finally realized the truth - everything that came out of his mouth was a lie - he had no magic strategy or abilities...and doing business with him was not profitable. Take 2
  19. Pretty sure "libs" are dealing with it pretty much how most of this board "dealt" with BO....the hypocrisy is outstanding..
  20. So the crew that spent 8 yeats crying and wailing has turned to the catch all "snowflake"...
  21. I would like to imagine a radio station with the afternoon radio slot occupied by actual sports people and a newspaper with real sportswrtiers
  22. Almost none of that will reduce cost. To reduce cost the risk pool has to include everyone....any structure, plan, blah blah blah...that doesnt simply wont work. This can be accomplished a number of ways. The risk pool - as either a whole or in large segments must have ability to negotiate. Single payers will never be able to do this in a straight up "insurance" structure. The pay for play insurance structure has to be tossed. The incentive to profit has to be to gained from improving peoples health in a preventative and accoutable manner rather than a pay for play. Start with those basic tenants and craft your finance around it. Re massive tax burden....YOU pay $9000 per person for health care here in the US via the price of the goods you buy and the cut in your salary for HC. Happy with that....why do you put up with it? Whether via tax or COGS we in the US share the burden of that cost. An educated citizenry would really help And yes...where is the GOP PLAN. And yes...why should not have the most effecient lowest cost HC in the world....why are people so satisfied with simply eliminating ACA. The Gop has not put a plan down because they keep running into actuarial issue...they run models of their plans and it diesnt work.....Conservative/GOP ideaology doesnt necessarily work well with insurance markets Written with ipad
  23. Teams typically don't block move ups because no one would want to work for them.
  24. Huh? I start and end with this: Our economy spends 9000 per person on HC...every other first world country covers their citizens for half that and does it cradle to grave. They dont burden the business community or local and state govt or have 6-8 delivery systems. That is the bar we should meet. Surely this can be done using free maket methods. I have outlined more that once what inthink would be a structure that can accomplish this in the past...you can look it up. I dont think the ACA works well Meanwhile - as you can read below - most of the general public - like B man - are preoccupied with who is right and wrong - do yourselves a favor and do some research
  25. Stop...please stop....the state of the organization.....everyone looking for a coach is doing so because they need to be fixed.....Buffalo is at the top of desireable places because it has one of the few owners who can put huge bonus cash in escrow, spend to the cap, and spend on coaching and scouting...
